Live Migration of Virtual Machines Using a Mamdani Fuzzy Inference System

Efforts were exerted to enhance the live virtual machines(VMs)migration,including performance improvements of the live migration of services to the *** VMs empower the cloud users to store relevant data and ***,the utilization of servers has increased significantly because of the virtualization of computer systems,leading to a rise in power consumption and storage requirements by data centers,and thereby the running *** center migration technologies are used to reduce risk,minimize downtime,and streamline and accelerate the data center move ***,several parameters,such as non-network overheads and downtime adjustment,may impact the live migration time and server downtime to a large *** virtualizing the network resources,the infrastructure as a service(IaaS)can be used dynamically to allocate the bandwidth to services and monitor the network flow *** to the large amount of filthy retransmission,existing live migration systems still suffer from extensive downtime and significant performance degradation in crossdata-center *** study aims to minimize the energy consumption by restricting the VMs migration and switching off the guests depending on a threshold,thereby boosting the residual network bandwidth in the data center with a minimal breach of the service level agreement(SLA).In this research,we analyzed and evaluated the findings observed through simulating different parameters,like availability,downtime,and outage of VMs in data center *** new paradigm is composed of two forms of detection strategies in the live migration approach from the source host to the destination source machine.

Catheter ablation for atrial fibrillation in heart failure:untying the Gordian knot

Atrial fibrillation(AF) and heart failure(HF) are complex clinical entities that occur concomitantly in a significant population of patients, and their prevalence is rising in epidemic proportions. Traditionally, both rate and rhythm control strategies have been regarded as equivalent in the management of dysrhythmia in this AF-HF cohort with escalation of treatment largely guided by symptoms. Both disorders are involved in an elaborate pathophysiological interplay with shared cardiovascular risk factors that contribute to the development and sustenance of both AF and HF. Recent studies and continued development of evidence to support catheter ablation for AF has brought into question the traditional belief in equivalence between rate and rhythm control. Indeed, recent trials, in particular the CASTLE-AF(Catheter Ablation versus Standard Conventional Therapy in Patients with Left Ventricular Dysfunction and Atrial Fibrillation) study, suggest that catheter ablation for AF improves survival and rates of hospitalisation in patients with concomitant HF and AF, threatening a paradigm shift in the management of this patient cohort. The evident mortality benefit from clinical trials suggests that catheter ablation for AF should be considered as a therapeutic intervention in all suitable patients with the AF-HF syndrome as these patients may derive the greatest benefit from restoration of sinus rhythm. Further research is needed to refine the evidence base, especially to determine which subgroup of HF patients benefit most from catheter ablation and what is the optimal timing.

Arsenic Removal from Groundwater Using Iron Pyrite:Influence Factors and Removal Mechanism

Iron pyrite has been reported as a kind of potential material for arsenic(As)removal from the groundwater because it exhibits a strong attraction in groundwater for both arsenite and arsenate *** this study,batch adsorption experiments were carried out to determine the optimum conditions for As adsorption by the iron pyrite adsorbent,including the initial concentration,adsorbent dosage ratio,pH,temperature and stirring *** characterization methods were employed to identify the mechanism of As *** removal efficiency for As(Ⅲ)was observed 93%at pH=7,and for As(Ⅴ)was 95%observed at pH=*** model resulted in the maximum adsorption capacity(q_(m))for As(Ⅲ)and As(Ⅴ)were 571.7 and 671.1μg/g,respectively,as well as the experiments were found to be favorable as separation factor R_(L)1)indicates favorable *** pseudo-first and second-order kinetic models also fitted *** addition of oxalate on the adsorbent surface plays an important role for the recycling of Fe(Ⅱ)/Fe(Ⅲ)to minimize the arsenic *** surface area,ion exchange mechanism and structure of adsorbent confirmed that addition of oxalate could enhance the surface area of adsorbent.

OBJECTIVE:To investigate the phytochemicals and in vitro antioxidant,antimicrobial and cytotoxic potential of Rumex dentatus(***)leaf ***:The total phenolics and flavonoids content of *** extracts were evaluated by the Folin-Ciocalteu and aluminum chloride colorimetric methods *** potential of studied plant extracts was assessed through 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl radical scavenging capacity,total reducing power and total antioxidant ***,antibacterial and antifungal capacity was also evaluated by disc diffusion method against six clinically isolated multi-drug resistant bacterial strains as well as six fungal ***,cell cytotoxicity was also evaluated through3-(4,5-dimethylthiazolyl-2)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide ***:Ethanol extract showed highest total phenolic[(38.9±1.5)μg gallic acid equivalent/mg]and total flavonoids[(17.2±1.9)μg quercetin equivalent/mg]*** assays indicated that ethanol and methanol extracts possess potent antioxidant ***,it was observed that ethanol and hexane extracts have the potential to inhibit most of the tested multi-drug resistant bacterial strains while methanol,chloroform and hexane extracts could inhibit the growth of pathogenic fungal strains *** all the studied extracts,ethanolic extract showed highest cytotoxicity against MCF-7 cell line then Hep-2 and DU-145 cell lines by MTT assay with lowest IC50 of 47.3μg/m ***:These results suggest that *** could be a potent alternative candidate for treatment of microbial infections and for breast cancer treatment.

The modification of nanostructured materials is of great interest due to controllable and unusual inherent properties in such materials. Single phase Fe doped Zn O nanostructures have been fabricated through simple, versatile and quick low temperature solution route with reproducible results. The amount of Fe dopant is found to play a significant role for the growth of crystal dimension. The effect of changes in the morphology can be obviously observed in the structural and micro-structural investigations, which may be due to a driving force induced by dipole-dipole interaction. The band gap of Zn O nanostructures is highly shifted towards the visible range with increase of Fe contents, while ferromagnetic properties have been significantly *** prepared nanostructures have been found to be nontoxic to SH-SY5 Y Cells. The present study clearly indicates that the Fe doping provides an effective way of tailoring the crystal dimension, optical band-gap and ferromagnetic properties of Zn O nanostructure-materials with nontoxic nature, which make them potential for visible light activated photocatalyst to overcome environmental pollution, fabricate spintronics devices and biosafe drug delivery agent.

Chemical synthesis of zinc oxide nanorods for enhanced hydrogen gas sensing

Zinc oxide （ZnO） nanorods are prepared using equimolar solution of zinc nitrate （（Zn（NO3）2） and hexamethylenete- tramine （C6HleN4） by the hydrothermal technique at 80 ~C for 12 h. Epitaxial growth is explored by X-ray diffraction （XRD） patterns, revealing that the ZnO nanorods have a hexagonal （wurtzite） structure. Absorption spectra of ZnO are measured by UV-visible spectrometer. The surface morphology is investigated by field emission scanning electron mi- croscopy （FESEM）. The synthesized ZnO nanorods are used for detecting the 150 ~C hydrogen gas with a concentration over 1000 ppm. The obtained results show a reversible response. The influence of operating temperature on hydrogen gas detecting characteristic of ZnO nanorods is also investigated.

Assessment of Metals Concentration and Ecotoxicology of the Sediment Core of Rehri Creek, Karachi Coast, Pakistan

Trace metal concentrations were investigated in a recent sediment core collected from the Rehri Creek area of the Karachi coast, Sindh - Pakistan. The core was sliced horizontally at 2.5-cm intervals to determine grain size, sediment composition, pH, organic matter, and acid-leachable trace metals： cadmium, chromium, copper, lead, and zinc. The trace metals were analyzed by ICP. To separate anthropogenic from geogenic input, several approaches were made, including comparison with sediment quality guidelines--ecotoxicological sense of heavy metal contamination and classification by quantitative indexes. Grain-size analysis and sediment composition of core sample show a sandy nature with neutral pH. Elemental sequence （ES） of the trace metals is in the order of Zn （19.2-109.56 ppm）〉 Si （66.46-101.71 ppm）〉 Ba （12.05-26.86 ppm）〉 As （8.18-17.36 ppm）〉 Ni （4.2- 14.69 ppm）〉 Cr （3.02-9.62 ppm）〉 Pb （2.79-6.83 ppm）〉 Cu （2.2-5.29 ppm）〉 Co （0.9-2.05 ppm）. Thus it is likely that the area may face a serious threat of metal pollution with the present deposition rates unless stringent pollution control norms are adopted. The Sediment Geo-accumulation Index shows that there is no Cr, Cu, Ni, Pb, Zn, or Fe pollution; however, the former index and the Pollution Load Index indicate arsenic pollution in the sediments.

Effects of oral premedication on cognitive status of elderly patients undergoing cardiac catheterization

Background Sedatives and analgesics are often administered to achieve conscious sedation for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Appropriate concerns have been raised regarding post procedure delirium related to peri-procedural medication in the elderly. The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of premedication on new onset delirium and procedural care in elderly patients. Methods Patients 〉 70 years old and scheduled for elective cardiac catheterization were randomly assigned to receive either oral diphenhydramine and diaze- pam （25 rag/5 mg） or no premedication. All patients underwent a mini mental state exam and delirium assessment using confusion assess- ment method prior to the procedure and repeated at 4 h after the procedure and prior to discharge. Patients＇ cooperation during the procedure and ease of post-procedure were measured using Visual Analog Scale （VAS）. The degree of alertness was assessed immediately on arrival to the floor, and twice hourly afterwards using Observer＇s Assessment of Alermess/Sedation Scale （OAA/S）. Results A total of 93 patients were enrolled. The mean age was 77 years, and 47 patients received premedication prior to the procedure. None of the patients in either group developed delirium. Patients＇ cooperation and the ease of procedure was greater and pain medication requirement less both during and after the procedure in the pre-medicated group （P 〈 0.05 for both）. Nurses reported an improvement with patient management in the pre-medicated group （P = 0.08）. Conclusions In conclusion, prcmedication did not cause delirium in elderly patients undergoing cardiac catheterization. The reduced pain medication requirement, perceived procedural ease and post procedure management favors premedication in elderly patients undergoing cardiac catheterization.

An IoT-based wireless sensor network(WSN)comprises many small sensors to collect the data and share it with the central *** sensors are battery-driven and resource-restrained devices that consume most of the energy in sensing or collecting the data and transmitting *** data sharing,security is an important concern in such networks as they are prone to many threats,of which the deadliest is the wormhole *** attacks are launched without acquiring the vital information of the network and they highly compromise the communication,security,and performance of the *** the IoT-based network environment,its mitigation becomes more challenging because of the low resource availability in the sensing *** have performed an extensive literature study of the existing techniques against the wormhole attack and categorised them according to their *** analysis of literature has motivated our *** this paper,we developed the ESWI technique for detecting the wormhole attack while improving the performance and *** algorithm has been designed to be simple and less complicated to avoid the overheads and the drainage of energy in its *** simulation results of our technique show competitive results for the detection rate and packet delivery *** also gives an increased throughput,a decreased end-to-end delay,and a much-reduced consumption of energy.

Formation of crystalline particles from phase change emulsion： Influence of different parameters

Solidification or crystallization of phase change emulsion in the form of fine emulsion drops in a direct contact coolant at temperatures below their freezing point was studied. This work is mainly focused on the size and shape of the generated partides from phase change emulsified fats. Size of the particles is the major or key factor being considered during their formation, however, other factors that govern the particle size and shape were also observed. The operating parameters of the process were optimized in order to obtain particles of smaller size ranges in the window of current operating conditions. The crystallization of complex emulsion maffices is very difficult to control in the bulk at desired requirement. Hence, the emulsion drop to particle formation has advan- tage in comparison with the bulk solidification or crystallization. The main objective of this work is to achieve spherical emulsion particles in a direct contact cooling system. Parameters like： stat）ility, characterization, viscos- ity, and the effect of different energy inputs were examined. Moreover, the effects of the capillary size, interracial tension, temperature of the emulsion on the particle size were also monitrored.
