Hyperspectral(HS)image classification plays a crucial role in numerous areas including remote sensing(rs),agriculture,and the monitoring of the *** band selection in HS images is crucial for improving the efficiency and accuracy of image *** process involves selecting the most informative spectral bands,which leads to a reduction in data *** on these key bands also enhances the accuracy of classification algorithms,as redundant or irrelevant bands,which can introduce noise and lower model performance,are *** this paper,we propose an approach for HS image classification using deep Q learning(DQL)and a novel multi-objective binary grey wolf optimizer(MOBGWO).We investigate the MOBGWO for optimal band selection to further enhance the accuracy of HS image *** the suggested MOBGWO,a new sigmoid function is introduced as a transfer function to modify the wolves’*** primary objective of this classification is to reduce the number of bands while maximizing classification *** evaluate the effectiveness of our approach,we conducted experiments on publicly available HS image datasets,including Pavia University,Washington Mall,and Indian Pines *** compared the performance of our proposed method with several state-of-the-art deep learning(DL)and machine learning(ML)algorithms,including long short-term memory(LSTM),deep neural network(Dnn),recurrent neural network(Rnn),support vector machine(SVM),and random forest(RF).Our experimental results demonstrate that the Hybrid MOBGWO-DQL significantly improves classification accuracy compared to traditional optimization and DL ***-DQL shows greater accuracy in classifying most categories in both datasets *** the Indian Pine dataset,the MOBGWO-DQL architecture achieved a kappa coefficient(KC)of 97.68%and an overall accuracy(OA)of 94.32%.This was accompanied by the lowest root mean square error(RMSE)of 0.94,indicating very precise

Despite their potential for providing important information for paleobiogeography,studies using ostracod assemblages compiled from global datasets have been scarce so *** this study,the paleogeographic implications of the relationship between different ostracod assemblages are analyzed and discussed for the Albian and *** compiled an ostracod dataset at the genus level,with 168 genera for the Albian and 174 for the Cenomanian,to which different multivariate statistical methods of grouping were *** affinity between different ostracod assemblages from different regions allowed for the delineation of 30 operational geographic units(OGUs)for the Albian,and 32 OGUs for the Cenomanian,grouped in three paleobiogeographic units(PBUs;Megatethys,Persia,and Austral)and one sub-unit(PBSU;Maghreb associated to the Megatethys).The Maghreb PBSU showed minor changes between the Albian and *** relationship among the OGUs grouped in each PBU is related to different factors,such as eustatic sea level events,similar climatic zones,and marine current circulation patterns.A relationship was observed between the Gabon and nigeria OGUs with the Persia PBU,which suggests a direct east—west connection between them during the *** affinity observed in the Austral PBU between the South American,South African,and Australian regions during the Albian can be explained by their relative geographic isolation due to the Walvis Ridge *** eventual flooding of this barrier led to the relationship observed between the SE Brazilian and Bolivian regions with the Austral ***,the data also suggested that the separation of the Indian subcontinent from the Austral PBU took place during the Cenomanian.

This paper offers a systematic literature review of real-time detection and classification of Power Quality Disturbances(PQDs).A particular focus is given to voltage sags and notches,as voltage sags cause huge economic losses while research on voltage notches is still very incipient.A systematic method based on scientometrics,text similarity and the analytic hierarchy process is proposed to structure the review and select the most relevant literature.A biblio-metric analysis is then performed on the bibliographic data of the literature to identify relevant statistics such as the evolution of publications over time,top publishing countries,and the distribution by relevant topics.A set of articles is subsequently selected to be critically *** critical review is structured in steps for real-time detection and classification of PQDs,namely,input data preparation,preprocessing,transformation,feature extraction,feature selec-tion,detection,classification,and *** associated with the type of disturbance(s)addressed in the literature are also explored throughout the review,including the perspectives of those studies aimed at multiple PQDs,or specifically focused on voltage sags or voltage *** real-time performance of the reviewed tools is also ***,unsolved issues are discussed,and prospects are highlighted.

Background: Over the last decades, many forest simulators have been developed for the forests of individual European countries. The underlying growth models are usually based on national datasets of varying size, obtained from national Forest Inventories or from long-term research plots. Many of these models include country-and location-specific predictors, such as site quality indices that may aggregate climate, soil properties and topography effects. Consequently, it is not sensible to compare such models among countries, and it is often impossible to apply models outside the region or country they were developed for. However, there is a clear need for more generically applicable but still locally accurate and climate sensitive simulators at the European scale, which requires the development of models that are applicable across the European continent. The purpose of this study is to develop tree diameter increment models that are applicable at the European scale, but still locally accurate. We compiled and used a dataset of diameter increment observations of over 2.3 million trees from 10 national Forest Inventories in Europe and a set of 99 potential explanatory variables covering forest structure, weather, climate, soil and nutrient ***: Diameter increment models are presented for 20 species/species groups. Selection of explanatory variables was done using a combination of forward and backward selection methods. The explained variance ranged from10% to 53% depending on the species. Variables related to forest structure(basal area of the stand and relative size of the tree) contributed most to the explained variance, but environmental variables were important to account for spatial patterns. Sibling cannibalism is relatively common in nature,but its evolution in birds and certain other vertebrates with extended parental care had been ***,however,we demonstrate its regular occurrence in two European populations of the Eurasian hoopoe(Upupa epops)and explore possible adaptive and non-adaptive *** showed that sibling cannibalism was more frequently detected in Spain(51.7%)than in Austria(5.9%).In these two populations,the hoopoes laid similar clutch sizes,resulting in similar fledging production,but hatching failures were more frequent in the northern ***,having more nestlings condemned to die in the southern population may explain the higher incidence of sibling *** accordance with this interpretation,hatching span and failure,but not breeding date,explained the probability of sibling cannibalism in the Spanish hoopoes,while all three variables predicted brood reduction ***,experimental food supply reduced the probability of sibling cannibalism,but not the intensity of brood ***,females allocated fewer resources to the smallest nestlings when they were going to starve,but not necessarily when they were going to be used as food for their *** results suggest that hoopoes produce extra eggs that,in the case of reduced hatching failure and food scarcity,produce nestlings that are used to feed older *** findings provide the first evidence that sibling cannibalism occurs regularly in a bird species,thus expanding our evolutionary understanding of clutch size,hatching asynchrony,parent-offspring conflict,infanticide,and sibling cannibalism in the animal kingdom.

Polymorphisms in oxidative pathway related genes and susceptibility to inflammatory bowel disease

AIM To investigate whether common variants in the oxidative pathway genes influence inflammatory bowel disease(IBD) risk among Moroccan patients. METHODS The distribution of(TAAA)n_rs12720460 and(CCTTT)n_rs3833912 nOS2 A microsatellite repeats, HIF-1 A_rs11549467 and nFKB1-94 ins/delA TTG_rs28362491 was analyzed in 507 subjects grouped in 199 IBD and 308 healthy controls. Genotyping was performed withpolymerase chain reaction-fluorescent method and the TaqMan~? allelic discrimination *** The allele and genotype frequencies of HIF1 A_ rs11549467, nFKB1_rs28362491 and nOS2 A_(TAAA)n did not differ significantly between patients and controls. Analysis of nOS2 A_(CCTTT)n markers evidenced differences between patients and healthy controls. A preferential presence of the(CCTTT)8(P = 0.02; OR = 1.71, 95%CI: 1.07-2.74),(CCTTT)14(P = 0.02; OR = 1.71, 95%CI: 1.06-2.76) alleles in IBD,(CCTTT)8(P = 0.008; OR = 1.95, 95%CI: 1.17-3.23) in CD and(CCTTT)7(P = 0.009; OR = 7.61, 95%CI: 1.25-46.08),(CCTTT)11(P = 0.05; OR = 0.51, 95%CI: 0.25-1.01),(CCTTT)14(P = 0.02; OR = 2.05, 95%CI: 1.07-3.94),(CCTTT)15(P = 0.01; OR = 2.25, 95%CI: 1.16-4.35) repeats in UC patients indicated its possible association with higher disease risk which need to be confirmed in a larger sample size. COnCLUSIOn Our results suggest that the nOS2 A_(CCTTT)n gene variations may influence IBD susceptibility in the Moroccan population.

Mapping the Genetic Diversity of Castanea sativa: Exploiting Spatial Analysis for Biogeography and Conservation Studies

The current distribution of forest tree species is a result of natural or human mediated historical and contemporary processes. Knowledge of the spatial distribution of the diversity and divergence of populations is crucial for managing and conserving genetic resources in forest tree species. By combining tools from population genetics, landscape ecology and spatial statistics, landscape genetics thus represents a powerful method for evaluating the geographic patterns of genetic resources at the population level. In this study, we explore the possibility of combining genetic diversity data, spatial statistic tools and GIS technologies to map the genetic divergence and diversity of 31 Castanea sativa populations collected in Spain, Italy, Greece, and Turkey. The IDW technique was used to interpolate the diversity values and divergence indices as expected hetereozygosity (He), allelic richness (rs), private allelic richness (Prs), and membership values (Q) of each population to different clusters. Genetic diversity maps and a synthetic map of the spatial genetic structure of European chestnut populations were produced. Spatial coincidences between landscape elements and statistically significant genetic discontinuities between populations were investigated. Evidence is provided of the significance of cartographic outputs produced in the study and on their usefulness in managing genetic resources.

AIM:To investigate a possible genetic influence of claudin(CLDn)1,CLDn2 and CLDn4 in the etiology of inflammatory bowel ***:Allelic association between genetic regions of CLDn1,CLDn2 or CLDn4 and patients with inflammatory bowel disease,Crohn's disease(CD)or ulcerative colitis were investigated using both a casecontrol study approach(one case randomly selected from each of 191 Swedish inflammatory bowel disease families and 333 controls)and a family-based study(463 non-Swedish European inflammatory bowel disease-families).A nonsynonymous coding single nucleotide polymorphism in MORC4,located on the same linkage block as CLDn2,was investigated for association,as were two novel CLDn2 single nucleotide polymorphism markers,identified by ***:A single nucleotide polymorphism marker(rs12014762)located in the genetic region of CLDn2 was significantly associated to CD(case-control allelic OR = 1.98,95%CI:1.17-3.35,P = 0.007).MORC4 was present on the same linkage block as this CD *** the case-control approach,a significant association(case control allelic OR = 1.61,95%CI:1.08-2.41,P = 0.018)was found between CD and a nonsynonymous coding single nucleotide polymorphism(rs6622126)in *** association between the CLDn2 marker and CD was not replicated in the familybased *** colitis was not associated to any of the single nucleotide polymorphism ***:These findings suggest that a variant of the CLDn2-MORC4 region predisposes to CD in a Swedish population.
