Ef.lorescent nanophases(NPs) are f.und as a transitory accumulation of.potentially hazardous elements(PHEs),particularly in tropical climates. The central objective of.this study was to investigate the distribution of.PHEs with NPs through the evaporative f.rmation structures(Ef.) of.enormously PHEs-rich coal-mine drainages(CMD). The Ef. were studied in natural coal mine drainage f.r f.ve months in order to determine their geochemical and ecological structures and to assess their position in the reduction of.PHEs in nature. The largest coal-f.red power plant in South America, located in south Brazil, is used as an example of.such a problem. In this work, a novel methodology f.r the analysis of.PHEs in CMD precipitates is proposed f.r this af.ected coal *** analytical method, combining X-Ray Dif.raction(XRD) and advanced electron microscopies, shows the importance of.nanomineralogy in understanding dif.erent circumstances of.coal contamination. Several ultraf.nenanoparticles(UNPs) were identif.ed in the sampled soils and river sediments together with the PHEs. A decrease in PHEs was identif.ed in association with UNPs. However, f.rther investigations are required with regard to the mobility of.PHEs in water, atmosphere, soils, and sediments. The EPS was thoroughly studied, acquiring suitable understanding with investigational f.cts f.r Ca and f.-sulphates, pickeringite, and several amorphous phases.

Changes in permanent sample plots in the lowland,submontane and montane f.rests on Mount Cameroon(4,095 m above sea level),an active volcano,are described f.r 15 years f.om 1989 to *** the study period,the stocking level of.trees with a diameter at breast height(DBH) ≥ 10 cm in the three f.rests were lower than in pan-tropical stands suggesting a signif.cant impact of.volcanic and human-related activities on the vegetation communities on the *** mortality rates in the submontane and montane f.rests were consistent with those reported f.r comparable altitudinal ranges in the Blue Mountains of.*** annual mortality rate was higher in the lowland f.rest than other lowland sites *** between recruitment and mortality rates was large suggesting that the three vegetation communities have not reached their *** seven-year dif.erence in half.lif. of.large trees(with a DBH ≥ 50 cm) in the submontane and montane f.rests suggests an altitudinal ef.ect on turnover of.larger trees that in turn contributes to the f.equent small stature of.high altitude *** was little evidence of.an altitudinal ef.ect on species turnover and growth *** f.nding supports generalizations about the zero ef.ect of.growth on the stature of.high altitude *** f.rest dynamics is crucially important in the management of.tropical montane environmentsand in this instance particularly so given the recent creation of.the Mount Cameroon National Park.

Culturable f.ngal population diversity and succession was investigated in developing cranberry ovaries of.f.uit rot-resistant and rot-susceptible cranberry selections,f.om f.ower through mature *** were recovered in culture f.om 1185 of.1338 ovary tissues collected f.om June to September,yielding 2255 isolates that represented 42 *** the season,species richness varied f.om 2 to 17 and 2 to 18 in rot-resistant and rotsusceptible selections,respectively,increasing f.om wk1 to wk10 and then gradually declining to ***-Wiener diversity index varied f.om 0.27 to 2.32 in rotresistant and 0.18 to 2.38 in rot-susceptible,and Pielou’s evenness index varied f.om 0.11 to 0.63 and 0.06 to 0.64 in rot-resistant and rot-susceptible selections,respectively,conf.rming that diversity of.f.ngi in developing ovaries was similar among rot-resistant and rot-susceptible selections,but varied among sampling time *** component analysis grouped samples collected at the same sampling time point together regardless of.rot susceptibility of.the selections,and detected the predominant f.ngal species associated with each stage of.*** changes were observed in populations of.endophytic,pathogenic and saprophytic f.ngi throughout the season as ovaries matured.

Objective This study aims to explore the clinical applicability and relevance of.giycosaminoglycan Chemical Exchange Saturation Transf.r （gagCEST） f.r intervertebral disc. Methods 25 subjects ranging in age f.om 24 yrs to 74 yrs were enrolled, gagCEST was acquired using a single-slice TSE sequence on a 3T. Saturation used a continuous rectangular Rf.pulse with B1=0.8 I^T and a f.xed duration time =1100 ms. Sagittal image was obtained f.rstly without saturation pulse, and then saturated images were acquired at 52 of.sets ranging f.om ＋0.i25 to ＋_7 parts per million （ppm）. MR T2 relaxivity map was acquired at the identical location. Six subjects were scanned twice to assess scan-rescan reproducibility. Results GagCEST intraclass correlation coef.icient （ICC） of.six subjects was 0.759 f.r nucleus pulposus （NP） and 0.508 f.r annulus f.brosus （Af.. Bland-Altman plots showed NP had a mean dif.erence of.0.10% （95% limits of.agreement： -3.02% to 3.22%）; while that of.Af.was 0.34% （95% limits of.agreement： -2.28% to 2.95%）. f.r the 25 subjects, gag CEST in NP decreased as disc degeneration increased, with a similar trend to T2 relaxivity. Gag CEST of.Af.showed a better correlation with disc degeneration than T2 relaxivity. Conclusion GagCEST in NP and Af.decreased as disc degeneration increased, while gagCEST in Af.showed a better correlation than T2 relaxivity.

Hot air(HA)drying of.banana has low drying ef.iciency and results in undesirable product *** objectives of.this research were to investigate the f.asibility of.inf.ared(IR)heating to improve banana drying rate,evaluate quality of.the dried product,and establish models f.r predicting drying *** slices of.5 mm and 8 mm thickness were dried with IR and HA at product temperatures of.60℃,70℃ and 80℃.Banana drying characteristics and changes in residual polyphenol oxidase(PPO),Hydroxymethylf.rf.ral(HMf.,color,moisture content(MC)and water activity during the treatments were *** showed that signif.cant moisture reduction and higher drying rates were achieved with IR drying compared to HA drying in the early *** drying data could be f.tted to the Page model f.r accurate prediction of.MC change f.r IR and HA drying with mean R2 of.*** was noted that enzyme inactivation occurred more quickly with IR than with HA drying.A unique response of.PPO under IR and HA drying was *** heating of.banana inactivated PPO within the f.rst 20 min of.drying at 60℃,70℃ and 80℃,while PPO was f.rst activated bef.re inactivation at 60℃ and 70℃ drying with *** highest HMf.content occurred in banana slices with 5 mm thickness dried with IR at a product temperature of.80℃.It is theref.re recommendable to dry banana with IR at product temperature of.70℃ or below to preserve the product *** f.ndings are new and provide more insight in the application of.IR heating f.r drying banana f.r improved drying rate and product quality.
