Background: A descriptive study.of the characteristics of brucellosis patients in Jordan and antimicrobial therapy. Methods: In an outpatient study. records were reviewed between July.2016 and April 2024 and electronically.saved. Brucella diagnosis was based on epidemiological factors, risk factors, the standard tube agglutination test (STA), and blood or tissue cultures. Records were uploaded into a spreadsheet and imported into the R-Program. A 2-sample Kruskal-Wallis rank sum tested the equality.of proportions between two treatment regimens for all available and spondy.odiscitis, P Results: Two hundred patients with Brucellosis were analy.ed;males 106 (53%) with a mean age of 46.8 y.ars, and females 94 (47%) with a mean age of 48.1 y.ars. Patients from Jordan were 159 (79.9%), and the Arabian Peninsula 25 (12.6%). Brucellosis was a non-focal presentation in 121 (60.50%) patients, spondy.odiscitis in 64 (32.0%), and sacroiliitis in 7 (3.5%). Spondy.odiscitis involved lumbar 48 (75.0%), thoracic 11 (17.20%), and cervical 5 (7.8%). STA was a common diagnostic method (188, 94%). Risk factors included cheese 80 (47.3%), cattle, small ruminants, and she-camel milk 37 (21.89%), dairy.products 28 (16.57%), meat 9 (05.33%), and working with cattle 10 (05.92%). ESR was highest in spondy.odiscitis (mean of 54.5). Imaging studies commonly.requested were MRI and Bone scans. Doxy.y.line/Rifampin were mostly.prescribed antimicrobials. Conclusion: There is no clear guidance on brucella treatment. In endemic areas, brucella is still a concern. Population education must be a priority. Support for randomized trials addressing antimicrobials and durations is extremely.needed.

This article examines the influence of seawater temperature and total dissolved solids (TDS) on reverse osmosis (RO) desalination in the Arabian Gulf region, with a focus on the impact of climate change. The study.highlights the changes in seawater temperature and TDS levels over the y.ars and discusses their effects on the efficiency.and productivity.of RO desalination plants. It emphasizes the importance of monitoring TDS levels and controlling seawater temperature to optimize water production. The article also suggests various solutions, including intensive pre-treatment, development of high-performance membranes, exploration of alternative water sources, and regulation of discharges into the Gulf, to ensure sustainable water supply.in the face of rising TDS levels and seawater temperature. Further research and comprehensive monitoring are recommended to understand the implications of these findings and develop effective strategies for the management of marine resources in the Arabian Gulf.

The importance of the accuracy.of preparing biological specimen as histological sections that can be examined under a microscope lies in reflecting a true image of the tissue that includes all its components, which are used in scientific research or for the purpose of diagnosing various diseases of the body. Despite this, some cellular structures within the tissue may.suffer from some alterations that result from the appearance of defects during any.stage of preparing these microscopic sections, which alter or interfere with the precise cellular structures and morphology.that constitute the tissue and thus give a different image for tissue features and cause confusion in the work histopathologist in the diagnosis. There are several reasons that can cause a misdiagnosis of the sample that occurs during the surgical separation process or after separation during the stages of microscopic preparation techniques from fixation stage, tissue processing, embedding or microtomy. staining until mounting procedures. The constant need to identify.these defects and their causes in addition to try.to reduce them is one of the biggest challenges evident in pathology.laboratories. Therefore, this study.aims to review the most common defects that occur in any.stage of tissue processing, with an explanation of their causes and appropriate way. to avoid them.

This study.presents a significant contribution to the field of water quality.assessment and sustainable water management practices. By.evaluating the levels of total dissolved solids (TDS) in seawater intakes within al-Khobar desalination production sy.tem, the study.addresses a crucial aspect of water treatment and environmental impact assessment. The findings provide valuable insights into the variations and trends of TDS levels across different phases of the sy.tem, highlighting the importance of monitoring and management strategies. The study.provided both gravimetric total dissolved solids (TDS) and electrical conductivity.(EC) measurements to analy.e TDS calculation factor and evaluate measurement accuracy. Results revealed significant variations in TDS levels across the sampling locations, with phase-2 exhibiting higher levels and greater fluctuations. Phase-3 display.d similar trends but with lower TDS levels, while phase-4 showed slightly.different behavior with higher average TDS levels. EC measurements demonstrated a strong correlation with TDS, providing a reliable estimation. However, additional methods such as gravimetric analy.is should be employ.d to confirm TDS measurements. The findings contribute to understanding water quality.in the al-Khobar desalination sy.tem, aiding in monitoring, management, and decision-making processes for water treatment and environmental impact assessment. The study.enhances the credibility.of water quality.assessments and supports sustainable water management practices.

This paper presents the development of a framework for the parametric design of tunnels using geographic information sy.tem (GIS)mapping and building information modelling (BIM). According to the framework, a parametric representation of each sy.tem component (e.g., lay.rs of rock mass, size of excavation, topography. fault geometry. primary.lining, secondary.lining, rock bolts, etc.) can beincorporated in the GIS model with high levels of detail and used for the automatic generation of numerical models for the design oftunnel construction. This parametric evaluation allows the designer to consider several levels of detail for each component, for the effi-cient design and process optimization in conventional tunneling. Information between parametric analy.is and numerical simulations canbe freely.exchanged with significantly.reduced computational effort while results can be exported into BIM. It is anticipated that the proposed framework could lead to a comprehensive, y.t efficient analy.is of complex conventional tunneling project using parametric evaluations at the early.design stages.
