Assessment of groundwater quality with special emphasis on nitrate contamination in parts of Gautam Budh Nagar district,Uttar Pradesh, India

Progressive developments in industrial and agricultural activities are causing a critical stress on groundwater quality in developing *** objective of this paper is to assess and evaluate the contamination level of groundwater caused by leachate in 11 villages of the Gautam Budh Nagar district in Uttar Pradesh,*** systematically sampled 22 groundwater samples and 13 leachate samples to ascertain the source of pollution on groundwater *** standard analytical methods given by the American Public Health Association(APHA)(Standard methods for examination of water and wastewater,23rd ***,AWWA,WPCF,Washington,2017)were used for quantitative estimation of hydrochemical parameters of collected *** results of the analysis of groundwater samples indicate that pH values range from 7.31 to *** mean magnesium concentration in groundwater samples is 58.93±21.44 mg/*** of the groundwater samples taken,approximately 41%and 73%of samples analysis results have been found beyond the acceptable limit with respect to the parameters of turbidity and total dissolved solids,respectively,according to the Bureau of Indian Standards(Indian standard specification for drinking water(IS:10500).BIS,Manak Bhawan,New Delhi,2012)for drinking *** 95.4%of groundwater samples and 92.3%of leachate samples have high nitrate concentrations above the standard limit of BIS(45 mg/L),*** Piper plot shows that 50%of the samples belong to the Ca^2+-Mg^2+-HCO3^-*** and Durov's diagrams indicate that the mean concentrations of ions are in the order of Na^+>Mg^2+>Ca^2+>K^+(for cations)and HCO3^->NO3^->C1^->SO42^->CO32^->F-(for anions)in groundwater of the study *** spatial variation of the hydrochemical parameters shows that groundwater is heavily contaminated with respect to *** results indicate that the groundwater of villages Achheja,Bisrakh road,Dujana,Badalpur and Sadopur is not suitable for drinking.

Molecular identification of oomycete species affecting aquaculture in Bangladesh

Fish mycotic disease outbreaks occur due to infections with oomycete pathogens such as Saprolegnia *** Aphanomyces invadans,and cause large-scale fish production *** its negative impact on aquaculture,little is known about the diversity of oomycete *** aim of this study was to identify the diversity of pathogenic oomycetes causing infections in major aquaculture zones of Mymensingh and Jessore regions in Bangladesh.A total of 449 water and infected fish samples were collected from 28 fish farms in both regions of which 29 samples were able to grow out with mycelia on the Potato Dextrose Agar(PDA)/Glucose Peptone Yeast Agar(GPYA)*** database searches using the rRNA Internal Transcribed Spacer(ITS)region revealed that 15 belonged to Pythium spp.,12 were Aphanomyces invadans and two corresponded to Saprolegnia *** isolates of Pythium *** identified to the species level:one was closely related to Pythium catenulatum,four to Pythium rhizo-oryzae,rest were identified up to *** Pythium *** only isolated from water samples whereas *** and *** were found in fish *** analysis revealed that a single *** clone exists in the sampled *** results obtained confirm the existence of pathogenic oomycetes in Bangladesh fish farms and this will pave future research on diversity,prevention and control measures.

Advances in reduction of NO_x and N_2O emission formation in an oxy-fired fluidized bed boiler

Fossil fuel combustion is one of the major means to meet the mounting global energy demand. However, the increasing NO_x and N_2 O emissions arising from fossil fuel combustion process have hazardous effects. Thus, mitigating these gases is vital to attain a sustainable environment. Interestingly, oxy-fuel combustion in fluidized bed for carbon capture and minimized NO_x emissions is strongly sustainable compare to the other approaches. It was assessed that NO_x formation and fuel-N conversion have significant limitation under oxy-fluidized bed compared to air mode and the mechanism of NO_x formation is still deficient and requires further development. In addition, this review paper discussed the potential of primary measure as low emission process with others supplementary techniques for feasible NO_x reduction. The influences of combustion mode, operating parameters, and reduction techniques such as flue gas recirculation, oxygen staging, biomass co-firing, catalyst, influence of fluidized bed design and structure, decoupling combustion and their merges are respectively evaluated. Findings show that significant minimization of NO_x emission can be achieved through combination of primary and secondary reduction techniques.

A Critical Analysis of Machine Learning and Deep Learning Methods for Cervical Cancer Screening

Cervical cancer is a serious public health issue worldwide, and early identification is crucial for better patient outcomes. Recent study has investigated how ML and DL approaches may be used to increase the accuracy of vagina tests. In this piece, we conducted a thorough review of 50 research studies that applied these techniques. Our investigation compared the outcomes to well-known screening techniques and concentrated on the datasets used and performance measurements reported. According to the research, convolutional neural networks and other deep learning approaches have potential for lowering false positives and boosting screening precision. Although several research used small sample sizes or constrained datasets, this raises questions about how applicable the findings are. This paper discusses the advantages and disadvantages of the articles that were chosen, as well as prospective topics for future research, to further the application of ml and dl in cervical cancer screening. The development of cervical cancer screening technologies that are more precise, accessible, and can lead to better public health outcomes is significantly affected by these findings.

Assessment of Physicochemical and Bacteriological Quality of Different Surface Water Samples of Tangail District, Bangladesh

Surface water, a vital element of ecosystem must be hygienic, but unfortunately the pollution of this water is now an alarming problem. The present work deals with the assessment of physicochemical and bacteriological profile of several untreated surface water sources to ensure its suitability for using domestic purposes and drinking along with the impact of bacterial contaminated water on public health and antibiotic resistance pattern of these bacteria. The samples were collected from twenty sampling point (13 ponds, 4 lakes, 2 rivers and one canal) of Tangail District from January 2017 to July 2017. To understand the seasonal variation, water samples were measured in two month;February (dry season) and June (wet season). Most of the water sampling points were polluted by dumping of waste, cattle wash and were not suitable for the drinking or other domestic purposes. Obtained results showed that water of the study area is slightly alkaline, no remarkable variation in the temperature of the water in both seasons and DO of all the sampling station were lower than standard limit during February. The mean concentration (M.C.) of total Coliform were 4 × 1022 cfu/100ml and 4.5 × 1018 cfu/100ml at February and June respectively and all the sampling point were contaminated with fecal coliform. Other pathogenic bacteria, E. coli (M.C: 1.1 × 1011 cfu/100ml at February and M.C: 2.2 × 107 cfu/100ml at June), Salmonella spp. (M.C: 1.1 × 105 cfu/100ml at February and M.C: 3.4 × 105 cfu/100ml at June), Shigella spp. (M.C: 8 × 104 cfu/100ml at February and M.C: 3.4 × 107 cfu/100ml at June), Vibrio spp. (M.C: 8.6 × 105 cfu/100ml at February and M.C: 1.1 × 108 cfu/100ml at June) were isolated from several of the investigated water sources. The total counts of these pathogenic bacteria exceeded the acceptable limit during both season and also showed resistance against a broad range of commercially available antibiotics. Croatia）（0.01）. cimetidine （50）. atropine（10）. omeprazole （50）） was i.p. once daily, first immediately after surgery, last at 24h before sacrifice （at 1h. 2h. 6h. 24h. 5 days. 7 days. 14 days）. Results. Largely flatted stomach and only 40% area with thin gastric folds are along with poor healing of transected muscle, grossly and microscopically. Also, desmin immunohistochemistry/muscle regeneration shows sharp demarcation of positive fibers on the musclegranulation tissue border with only very scant immunoreactivity in vessel walls in the granulation tissue. All agents improved folds presentation, but only BPC 157 approaches to nearly 100%. with desmin immunoreactive cell clusters （muscle regeneration） penetrating the granulation tissue, and stronger immunoreactivity in vessel walls throughout the granulation tissue. Conclusion. BPC 157 is valuable for major stomach resection.

Level of Stress, Predisposing Factors and Status of Mental Health among Pharmacy Students of a Private University of Dhaka, Bangladesh: A Cross Sectional Study

Stress during tertiary educational period has significant negative effect on the performance of a student. Mental distress is increasing among students and is one of the important public health concerns. This study was carried out to investigate the socio demographic characteristics of students, level of their stress feeling, and status of mental health and to find out the co-relation of different factors associated with the level of stress feelings. A cross sectional study was conducted among the students of the Department of Pharmacy of UAP. A total of 504 students (181 male students and 323 female students) participated in this study. Feeling of severe stress was almost equal to both sexes. But, moderate level of stress was more associated with female students (N = 253, F = 78.33%) and overall female students were more stressful than male. Thought towards future career ranked one among many reasons of stress in students (59.67% for male students and 37.46% for female students). In terms of academic achievements, feeling of stress was higher in female students compared to male students (34.98% for female students vs. 15.47% for male students). Other factors such as unrealistic expectations, family relationship and affairs, socio economic condition, being of too busy also significantly participate in the development of stress in young mind. Mental health status was estimated by considering some facts such as state of shock due to unwanted life events, lacking of expression of emotions, reduced feeling of pleasure, unusual thinking, fear of any specific objects, short term memory loss, self identity disorder and lack of self confidence. We co-related different risk factors like age, gender, socio-economic condition, unrealistic thought patter to different levels of stress feeling.
