Herein,a facile synthetic strategy is proposed to fabricate high-performance electrocatalysts for rechargeable Zn-air batteries(ZABs).Heterostructured NiCo/NiCo_(2)S_(4) nanoparticles encapsulated in N-,S-co-doped CNT(NiCo/NiCo_(2)S_(4)@NSCNT) are synthesized via co-precipitation,thermal carbonization,and partial sulfidation *** strongly coupled NiCo/NiCo_(2)S_(4) heterostructure can improve the redox property and charge transfer ***,the CNTs with abundant foreign dopants provide high electrical conductivity and abundant defect sites for both the oxygen evolution reaction(OER) and oxygen reduction reaction(ORR).The prepared NiCo/NiCo_(2)S_(4)@NSCNT electrocatalyst exhibits a low overpotential of 349 mV at a current density of 10 mA cm-2 and a half-wave potential of 0.865 V for the OER and ORR,***,the ZAB assembled using as-prepared NiCo/NiCo_(2)S_(4)@NSCNT can provide superior specific capacity(756.16 mA h g_(Zn)^(-1)],peak power density(155.82 mW cm^(-2)),and long-term cyclability compared to those of the precious metal-based electrocatalyst(Pt/C+RuO_(2)).

Automatic road damage detection using image processing is an important aspect of road *** is also a challenging problem due to the inhomogeneity of road damage and complicated background in the road *** recent years,deep convolutional neural network based methods have been used to address the challenges of road damage detection and *** this paper,we propose a new approach to address those *** approach uses densely connected convolution networks as the backbone of the Mask R-CNN to effectively extract image feature,a feature pyramid network for combining multiple scales features,a region proposal network to generate the road damage region,and a fully convolutional neural network to classify the road damage region and refine the region bounding *** method can not only detect and classify the road damage,but also create a mask of the road *** results show that the proposed approach can achieve better results compared with other existing methods.

Humanoid robots are designed and built to mimic human form and movement. Ultimately, they are meant to resemble the size and physical abilities of a human in order to function in human-oriented environments and to work autonomously but to pose no physical threat to humans. Here, a humanoid robot that resembles a human in appearance and movement is built using powerful actuators paired with gear trains, joint mechanisms, and motor drivers that are all encased in a package no larger than that of the human physique. In this paper, we propose the construction of a humanoid-applicable anthropomorphic 7-DoF arm complete with an 8-DoF hand. The novel mechanical design of this humanoid ann makes it sufficiently compact to be compatible with currently available narrating-model humanoids, and to be sufficiently powerful and flexible to be functional; the number of degrees of freedom endowed in this robotic arm is sufficient for executing a wide range of tasks, including dexterous hand movements. The developed humanoid arm and hand are capable of sensing and interpreting incoming external force using the motor in each joint current without conventional torque sensors. The humanoid ann adopts an algorithm to avoid obstacles and the dexterous hand is capable of grasping objects. The developed robotic ann is suitable for use in an interactive humanoid robot.

The measurement and prediction of gas pulsations are performed along the discharge pipeline of a reciprocating compressor for a refrigerator. A regression based experimental model of the one-dimensional acoustic field is developed. First, the conventional method for gas pulsation measurement and prediction, which separates the incident and reflected wave of acoustic waves traveling in the frequency domain, is discussed. Then, regression based on our proposed simple model, which is able to predict gas pulsation compared to the conventional method, is introduced for the analysis of a reciprocating compressor(The conventional method requires the value of sound speed in the piping line for the reciprocating compressor). A numerical prediction is made for the regression method. Three power spectrum values along the discharge pipeline are used for analysis, and two values are used for verification. Our results are in a good agreement with the conventional method.

In this study,we developed a simple screening procedure for the determination of 18 anthelmintics(including benzimidazoles,macrocyclic lactones,salicylanilides,substituted phenols,tetrahydropyrimidines,and imidazothiazoles)in five animal-derived food matrices(chicken muscle,pork,beef,milk,and egg)using liquid chromatography-tandem mass *** were extracted using acetonitrile/1% acetic acid(milk and egg)and acetonitrile/1% acetic acid with 0.5 mL of distilled water(chicken muscle,pork,and beef),and purified using saturated n-hexane/acetonitrile.A reversed-phase analytical column and a mobile phase consisting of(A)10 mM ammonium formate in distilled water and(B)methanol were used to achieve optimal chromatographic ***-matched standard calibration curves(R^(2)≥0.9752)were obtained for concentration equivalent to ×1/2,×1,×2,×3,×4,and×5 fold the maximum residue limit(MRL)stipulated by the Korean Ministry of Food and Drug *** of 61.2e118.4%,with relative standard deviations(RSDs)of ≤19.9%(intraday and interday),were obtained for each sample at three spiking concentrations(×1/2,×1,and ×2 the MRL values).Limits of detection,limits of quantification,and matrix effects were 0.02e5.5 mg/kg,0.06e10 mg/kg,and -98.8 to 13.9%(at 20 μg/kg),*** five samples of each food matrix(chicken muscle,pork,beef,milk,and egg)purchased from large retailers in Seoul that were tested,none of the target analytes were *** has therefore been shown that this protocol is adaptable,accurate,and precise for the quantification of anthelmintic residues in foods of animal origin.

Photodynamic therapy prolongs metal stent patency in patients with unresectable hilar cholangiocarcinoma

AIM:To evaluate the effect of photodynamic therapy (PDT) on metal stent patency in patients with unresectable hilar cholangiocarcinoma (CC). METHODS:This was a retrospective analysis of patients with hilar CC referred to our institution from December, 1999 to January, 2011. Out of 232 patients, thirty-three patients with unresectable hilar CC were treated. Eighteen patients in the PDT group were treated with uncovered metal stents after one session of PDT. Fifteen patients in the control group were treated with metal stents alone. Porfimer sodium (2 mg/kg) was administered intravenously to PDT patients. Fortyeight hours later, PDT was administered using a diffusing fiber that was advanced across the tumor by either endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography or percutaneous cholangiography. After performance of PDT, uncovered metal stents were inserted to ensure adequate decompression and bile drainage. Patient survival rates and cumulative stent patency were calculated using Kaplan-Meier analysis with the log-rank test. RESULTS:The PDT and control patients were comparable with respect to age, gender, health status, pretreatment bilirubin, and hilar CC stage. When compared to control, the PDT group was associated with significantly prolonged stent patency (median 244 ± 66 and 177 ± 45 d, respectively, P = 0.002) and longer patient survival (median 356 ± 213 and 230 ± 73 d, respectively, P = 0.006). Early complication rates were similar between the groups (PDT group 17%, control group 13%) and all patients were treated conservatively. Stent malfunctions occurred in 14 PDT patients (78%) and 12 control patients (80%). Of these 26 patients, twenty-two were treated endoscopically and four were treated with external drainage. CONCLUSION:Metal stenting after one session of PDT may be safe with acceptable complication rates. The PDT group was associated with a significantly longer stent patency than the control group in patients with unresectable hilar CC.

Amplified inflammatory reaction has been observed to be involved in cardiometabolic diseases such as obesity,insulin resistance,diabetes,dyslipidemia,and *** complement system was originally viewed as a supportive first line of defense against microbial invaders,and research over the past decade has come to appreciate that the functions of the complement system extend beyond the defense and elimination of microbes,involving in such diverse processes as clearance of the immune complexes,complementing T and B cell immune functions,tissue regeneration,and *** focus of this review is to summarize the role of the activation of complement system and the initiation and progression of metabolic disorders including obesity,insulin resistance and diabetes *** addition,we briefly describe the interaction of the activation of the complement system with diabetic complications such as diabetic retinopathy,nephropathy and neuropathy,highlighting that targeting complement system therapeutics could be one of possible routes to slow down those aforementioned diabetic complications.
