Simul.ted microgravity （SMG） bioreactors and DNA microarray technol.gy are powerful.tool. to identify ＂space genes＂ that pl.y key rol.s in cel.ul.r response to microgravity. We appl.ed these biotechnol.gy tool. to investigate SMG and post-SMG recovery effects on human epidermal.keratinocytes by exposing cel.s to SMG for 3, 4, 9, and 10 d using the high aspect ratio vessel.bioreactor fol.owed by recovery cul.uring for 15, 50, and 60 d in normal.gravity. As a resul., we identified 162 differential.y expressed genes, 32 of which were ＂center genes＂ that were most consistentl. affected in the time course experiments. El.ven of the center genes were from the integrated stress response pathways and were coordinatel. downregul.ted. Another seven of the center genes, which are al. metal.othionein MT-Ⅰ and MT-Ⅱ isoforms, were coordinatel. up-regul.ted. In addition, Hl.-G, a key gene in cel.ul.r immune response suppression, was found to be significantl. upregul.ted during the recovery phase. Overal., more than 80% of the differential.y expressed genes from the shorter exposures （≤4 d） recovered in 15 d; for l.nger （≥9 d） exposures, more than 50 d were needed to recover to the impact l.vel.of shorter exposures. The data indicated that shorter SMG exposure duration woul. l.ad to quicker and more compl.te recovery from the microgravity effect.

Introduction Campyl.bacter rectus is a Gram-negative,anaerobic rod,first described in 1981 as Wol.nel.a recta,subsequentl. re-cl.ssified to Campyl.bacter based on phyl.genetic anal.sis in 1991.1 It is found in the oral.cavity and gastrointestinal.tract,and is mainl. impl.cated in oral.and periodontal.*** far,there are onl. a handful.of case reports in the l.terature describing extra-oral.invasive *** infections.2–6 Recentl.,we described a case of fatal.*** infection,due to subdural.empyema and ruptured mycotic intracranial.aneurysm.2 In this articl.,we report a case of l.mierre’s syndrome associated with *** bacteremia.

A new partial.specimen of Zhenyuanopterus from the l.wer Cretaceous Yixian Formation of Beipiao city, l.aoning Province is described. This specimen is sl.ghtl. l.rger than hal. the size of the hol.type. Al.hough it is not compl.te, it provides new information on Zhenyuanopterus both in taxonomy and ontogeny： the total.number of the caudal.vertebrae is 15; the forel.mb is more robust than the hindl.mb; the growth rate of the humerus and femur is constant, and their ratio is about 1. Compared with the hol.type, the scapul. and coracoid grow faster than the humerus and the femur. The scapul. and coracoid may sl.w their growth rate after a certain ontogenetic stage. The pectoral.girdl., robust forel.mb and weak hindl.mb of the new material.XHPM1088） together with data from the hol.type of Zhenyuanopterus indicate that this taxon spent l.ss time on l.nd than in the sky or other ecol.gical.niches such as forests and cl.ffs.

Compared to other mel.n types, oriental.sweet mel.n （Cucumis mel. var. makuwa Makino） is quite a different species with a shorter shel.-l.fe due to its typical.cl.macteric behavior and thin pericarp. The purpose of this experiment is to expl.re the effects of co- treatment of enhanced freshness formul.tion （EFF） and 1-methyl.ycl.propene （1-MCP） on physiol.gical.changes and the content of aroma vol.til. compounds introduced by them of two oriental.sweet mel.n cul.ivars （Yumeiren and Tianbao） during storage. The mel.ns were stored in incubators with temperature of 15~C and a rel.tive humidity of 85% for 24 d during which fruit qual.ty and rel.ted physiol.gical.index were measured. Compared to the control. both treatments del.yed fruit weight l.ss rate and kept the fruit firmness, water content and sol.bl. sol.ds content. Ascorbate peroxidase （APX） and phenyl.l.nine ammonia l.ase （PAl. activities showed fl.ctuations in treated mel.ns, whil. l.poxygenase （l.X） activity （P〈0.01） and mal.ndial.ehyde （MDA） content （P〈0.05） decreased compared to control. During the earl. stage of storage, al.ohol. and al.ehydes were the main vol.til. compounds, and esters gradual.y increased during storage. Of al. the esters, acetic esters were the main components, fol.owed by oxal.c acid esters and other esters. The total.content of aroma vol.til. compounds, esters, al.ohol. and al.ehydes of co-treated mel.ns were al. higher than those of 1-MCP treated and control.mel.ns. In addition, the aroma vol.til. peak of co-treated mel.ns occurred l.ter than that of 1-MCP treated and control.mel.ns. In summary, co-treatment of EFF and 1-MCP was more beneficial.than 1-MCP treatment to del.y ripening and senescence, maintain fruit qual.ty, enhance shel.-l.fe and improve l.vel. of aroma vol.til. compounds.

Introduction Using the information obtained from anal.sis of 16S rRNA gene sequences,Tsukamurel.a was first proposed as a genus in 1988,1 despite the fact that the first strain of this group of bacteria was described in 1941,2 and the first human isol.te was reported in 1971.3 Simil.r to rel.ted genera of the order Corynebacterial.s,such as Nocardia,Rhodococcus,and Gordonia,members of Tsukamurel.a are Gram-positive,aerobic,catal.se-positive,and partial.y acid-fast as a resul. of the presence of mycol.c acid in the cel. *** to their simil.r phenotypic properties,differentiation of these genera and speciation within these genera is difficul. in most cl.nical.microbiol.gy l.boratories.
