Augusta Savage’s“Lift Every Voice and Sing”is discussed as a composite work showing influences from ancient Egyptian musical instruments,surrealism,August Rodin,and ancient Egyptian funerary and devotional *** sculpture is a significant departure from the social realist sculpture of the New Deal era.“Objective”artworks like Savage’s sculpture have been overwritten by inadequate *** approximates the shape of Rodin’s hand and arm in the sound board of her harp.A comparison of Savage’s sculpture with a concert harp shows that the kneeling figure(the foot pedal)is at the wrong end of the ***“objective”art mistakes are meaningful,while in“subjective”art mistakes have no useful *** mistaken position of the kneeling figure at the front of Savage’s magical harp establishes it as the most significant aspect of the esoteric symbolism of Savage’s ***’s sculpture implicates ***'s esoteric intervention in history.

Distribution Characteristics and Accumulation Model for the Coal-formed Gas Generated from Permo-Carboniferous Coal Measures in Bohai Bay Basin, China: A Review

Coal-formed gas generated from the Permo-Carboniferous coal measures has become one of the most important targets for deep hydrocarbon exploration in the Bohai Bay Basin,offshore eastern ***,the proven gas reserves from this source rock remain low to date,and the distribution characteristics and accumulation model for the coal-formed gas are not *** we review the coal-formed gas deposits formed from the Permo-Carboniferous coal measures in the Bohai Bay *** accumulations are scattered,and dominated by middle-small sized gas fields,of which the proven reserves ranging from 0.002 to 149.4×108 m3 with an average of 44.30×108 m3 and a mid-point of 8.16×108 *** commercially valuable gas fields are mainly found in the central and southern parts of the ***,the coal-formed gas is accumulated at multiple stratigraphic levels from Paleogene to Archaeozoic,among which the Paleogene and PermoCarboniferous are the main reservoir *** to the transporting pathway,filling mechanism and the relationship between source rocks and reservoir,the coal-formed gas accumulation model can be defined into three types:"Upward migrated,fault transported gas"accumulation model,"Laterally migrated,sandbody transported gas"accumulation model,and"Downward migrated,sub-source,fracture transported gas"accumulation *** rock distribution,thermal evolution and hydrocarbon generation capacity are the fundamental controlling factors for the macro distribution and enrichment of the coal-formed *** fault activity and the configuration of fault and caprock control the vertical enrichment pattern.

Assisted reproductive technologies invoIving the use of spermatozoa and eggs for in vitro fertilization(IVF)have come as the solution for many infertile couples to become ***,in some cases,the use of ejaculated spermatozoa delivers poor IVF *** studies have suggested the use of testicular spermatozoa in severe male in fertility cases,but no guideli nes regarding their utilization are currently *** the present study,we found the mRNA protamine 1/protamine 2(P1/P2)ratio to be a valuable biomarker of poor sperm function that could be used as a diagnostic key for the identification of cases that would benefit from the use of testicular spermatozoa.A total of 23 couples undergoing egg donation cycles with at least one previous cycle failure were *** couples underwent two consecutive intracytoplasmic sperm injection(ICSI)cycles with either ejaculated or testicular spermatozoa(TESA).The sperm mRNA P1/P2 ratio,fertilization rate,blastocyst rate,and pregnancy and live birth rate were *** showed improved ICSI and clinical outcomes in cycles with testicular spermatozoa in men with altered mRNA P1/P2 *** cycles presented significantly higher rates of fertilization(mean±standard deviation:76.1%±15.1%vs 65.5%±18.8%),blastocyst formation(55.0%±20.3%vs 30.8%±23.8%),and good morphological quality blastocyst(28.9%±22.9%vs 13.5%±17.9%)and also improvements on pregnancy(60.9%vs 0%)and healthy birth rates(56.5%vs 0%)than EJACULATE *** results described here suggest that in patients with previous IVF/ICSI failures and aberrant mRNA protamine ratios,the use of testicular spermatozoa may be a good alternative to improve clinical outcomes.

Over the last decade, molecular phylogenetic studies have provided the foundation for a comprehensive analysis of the global diversification of songbirds (Oscines), which comprise nearly half of all the birds of the world. By comparing the spatial distribution of species representing basal and terminal root-path groups, this paper provides graphical illustrations of the global pattern of diversification for the major songbird clades. The worldwide expansion of songbirds started as an island radiation in the area where New Guinea is now located, but the mountains of southern China represent a principal center for more recent diversification. The paper suggests priorities and perspectives for further research aiming to understand what determines the variation in biodiversity on different spatial scales.

Terrestrial laser scanning(TLS) is a useful technology for rock mass characterization. A laser scanner produces a massive point cloud of a scanned area, such as an exposed rock surface in an underground tunnel,with millimeter precision. The density of the point cloud depends on several parameters from both the TLS operational conditions and the specifications of the project, such as the resolution and the quality of the laser scan, the section of the tunnel, the distance between scanning stations, and the purpose of the scans. One purpose of the scan can be to characterize the rock mass and statistically analyze the discontinuities that compose it for further discontinuous modeling. In these instances, additional data processing and a detailed analysis should be performed on the point cloud to extract the parameters to define a discrete fracture network(DFN) for each discontinuity set. I-site studio is a point cloud processing software that allows users to edit and process laser scans. This software contains a set of geotechnical analysis tools that assist engineers during the structural mapping process, allowing for greater and more representative data regarding the structural information of the rock mass, which may be used for generating DFNs. This paper presents the procedures used during a laser scan for characterizing discontinuities in an underground limestone mine and the results of the scan as applied to the generation of DFNs for further discontinuous modeling.

Researchers from the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health(NIOSH)conducted a study in an isolated zone of an underground mine to characterize aerosols generated by:(1)a diesel-powered personnel carrier vehicle operated over a simulated light-duty cycle and(2)the simulated repair of existing equipment using manual metal arc welding(MMAW).Both the diesel-powered vehicle and MMAW process contributed to concentrations of nano and ultrafine aerosols in the mine *** welding process also contributed to aerosols with electrical mobility and aerodynamic mobility count median diameters of approximately 140 and 480 nm,*** welding particles collected on the filters contained carbon,iron,manganese,calcium,and aluminum.
