Advantages of the Multimodel Ensemble Approach for Subseasonal Precipitation Prediction in China and the Driving Factor of the MJO

Based on the hindcasts from five subseasonal-to-seasonal(S2S)models participating in the S2S Prediction Project,this study evaluates the performance of the multimodel ensemble(MME)approach in predicting the subseasonal precipitation anomalies during summer in China and reveals the contributions of possible driving *** results suggest that while single-model ensembles(SMEs)exhibit constrained predictive skills within a limited forecast lead time of three pentads,the MME illustrates an enhanced predictive skill at a lead time of up to four pentads,and even six pentads,in southern *** on both deterministic and probabilistic verification metrics,the MME consistently outperforms SMEs,with a more evident advantage observed in probabilistic *** superior performance of the MME is primarily attributable to the increase in ensemble size,and the enhanced model diversity is also a contributing *** reliability of probabilistic skill is largely improved due to the increase in ensemble members,while the resolution term does not exhibit consistent ***,the Madden–Julian Oscillation(MJO)is revealed as the primary driving factor for the successful prediction of summer precipitation in China using the *** improvement by the MME is not solely attributable to the enhancement in the inherent predictive capacity of the MJO itself,but derives from its capability in capturing the more realistic relationship between the MJO and subseasonal precipitation anomalies in *** study establishes a scientific foundation for acknowledging the advantageous predictive capability of the MME approach in subseasonal predictions of summer precipitation in China,and sheds light on further improving S2S predictions.

Combustion aerosols and suspended dust with controlled processes in Lhasa:Elemental analysis and size distribution characteristics

To explore air contamination resulting from special biomass combustion and suspended dust in Lhasa,the present study focused on the size distribution and chemical characteristics of particulate matter(PM)emission resulting from 7 types of non-fossil pollution *** investigated the concentration and size distribution of trace elements from 7 pollution sources collected in *** Lhasa’s atmospheric particulate matter data,enrichment factors(EFs)have been calculated to examine the potential impact of those pollution sources on the atmosphere quality of *** highest mass concentration of total elements of biomass combustion appeared at PM_(0.4),and the second highest concentration existed in the size fraction 0.4-1μm;the higher proportion(12%)of toxicmetals was produced by biomass *** elemental composition of suspended dust and atmospheric particulate matter was close(except for As and Cd);the highest concentration of elements was all noted in PM_(2.5-10)(PM3-10).Potassium was found to be one of the main biomass *** proportion of Cu in suspended dust is significantly lower than that of atmospheric particulate matter(0.53%and 3.75%),which indicates that there are other anthropogenic *** EFs analysis showed that the Cr,Cu,Zn,and Pb produced by biomass combustion were highly enriched(EFs>100)in all particle *** EFs of most trace elements increased with decreasing particle size,indicating the greater influence of humanfactors on smaller particles.

Application of labeled radioimmunoimaging tracing in detecting pulmonary embolism in rabbits after bone cement perfusion and relevant treatment effects

Background During the process of bone cement joint replacement, some patients show a series of complications, such as a sudden drop in blood pressure or dyspnea. The cause of the complication is considered to be due to emboli caused by the femur prosthesis insertion. The purpose of the present study was to detect the pulmonary embolism in rabbits after bone cement perfusion by radioimmunoimaging, and to explore its protective measures. Methods Forty rabbits, 2.5-3.0 kg weight, were randomly assigned to four groups, with ten rabbits in each group. Group I （no intervention）： Bone cement perfusion was done after medullary cavity reaming and pressurizing. Group II （epinephrine hydrochlorideintervention）： The medullary cavity was rinsed with a 1：10000 normal saline-diluted epinephrine hydrochloride solution followed by bone cement perfusion after medullary cavity reaming and pressurizing. Group III （fibrin sealant intervention）： The medullary cavity was precoated with fibrin sealant followed by bone cement perfusion after medullary cavity reaming and pressurizing. Group IV （blank control group）： The medullary cavity was not perfused with bone cement after reaming. In each group, the rabbits underwent femoral head resection and medullary cavity reaming. Before bone cement perfusion, 2 ml of developing tracer was injected through the ear vein. Radionuclide imaging was performed at 60, 120, and 180 minutes after bone cement perfusion, and the pulmonary radioactivity in vivo was measured. The rabbits were immediately sacrificed, and the pulmonary tissue was removed and its radioactivity was measured in vitro. Pulmonary tissue was then fixed and the pulmonary embolism and the associated pathological changes were observed. Results The pulmonary radioactivity in vivo was measured at 60, 120, and 180 minutes after bone cement perfusion. The high strength and stability of the full-lamellar structure guarantee the industrial application of theβ-solidifyingγ-TiAl ***,it is a huge challenge to design an alloy with good hot-deformability as well as the full-lamellar *** low-cost Ti-42.5Al-2Mn-0.4Mo-0.1B-0.1C(at.%)alloy was designed,which undergoes bothβandαsingle-phase region during the *** is found that the full-lamellar structure can be obtained by the solution heat treatment at 1230℃ for 20 min and then aging treatment at 800℃ for 3 ***,a new microstructure,namely,the pearlitic-like microstructure(PM)induced by theα_(2)/γ→βo+γcellular reaction was observed when the aging temperature is increased to above 800℃.The volume fraction of the PM is gradually increased from 0%to 25.5%,65%,and 94%according to elevated aging temperature from 800 to 900,1000,and 1050℃,*** mechanism of the reducedα_(2)/γlamellae and PM formation was discussed regarding the heterogeneous distribution ofβstabilizing elements and the interface energy stored inα_(2)/γlamellae.

Residual symmetry and interactions between solitons and periodic waves of the Drinfeld-Sokolov-Satsuma-Hirota system

In this paper,the Drinfeld-Sokolov-Satsuma-Hirota(DSSH)system is studied by using residual symmetry and the consistent Riccati expansion(CRE)method,*** residual symmetry of the DSSH system is localized to lie point symmetry in a properly prolonged system,based on which we get a new Bäcklund transformation for this *** symmetry reduction solutions of the DSSH system are obtained by applying the classical lie group approach on the prolonged ***,the DSSH system proves to be CRE integrable and new interesting interaction solutions between solitons and periodic waves are generated and analyzed.

A Simulation Study to Assess Impacts of Habitat-Dependent Parameters of Surplus Production Model on Stock Assessment of Chilean Jack Mackerel in the Southeast Pacific Ocean

Pelagic fish are the most abundant species in upwelling regions,contributing 25%of total global fisheries ***-driven changes in the marine environment play a crucial role in their population *** Chilean jack mackerel(Trachurus murphyi)as an example,this study conducted simulations to quantify the impacts of environmental variations on the stock assessment.A habitat-based surplus production model was developed by integrating suitable habitat area into the model parameters carrying capacity(K)and intrinsic growth rate(r),with a suitable habitat area serving as the proxy for the environmental conditions for Chilean jack mackerel in the Southeast Pacific *** dynamics of Chilean jack mackerel stock and fisheries data were simulated,and four assessment models with different configurations were built to fit simulated data,with or without considering environmental *** results indicated that Joint K-r model,which integrated both parameters with the suitable habitat area index,outperformed the others by coming closest to the‘true'population *** habitat variations in the estimation model tended to overestimate biomass and underestimate harvest rate and reference *** observation and process error,the results were estimated with bias,while FMSY is relatively *** research illustrates the importance to consider random errors and environmental influences on populations,and provides foundation guidelines for future stock assessment.

Consumer products are important reservoirs and sources of organophosphate tri-esters and di-esters:Characteristics,mass inventory,and implication for waste management

Numerous studies documented the occurrence of organophosphate tri-esters(tri-OPEs)and di-esters(di-OPEs)in the *** information is available on their occurrence in waste consumer products,reservoirs and sources of these *** study collected and analyzed 92 waste consumer products manufactured from diverse polymers,including polyurethane foam(PUF),polystyrene(PS),acrylonitrile butadiene styrene(ABS),polypropylene(PP),and polyethylene(PE)to obtain information on the occurrence and profiles of 16 tri-OPEs and 10 *** concentrations of di-OPEs(18−370,000 ng/g,median 1,700 ng/g)were one order of magnitude lower than those of tri-OPEs(94−4,500,000 ng/g,median 5,400 ng/g).The concentrations of both tri-and di-OPEs in products made of PUF,PS,and ABS were orders of magnitude higher than those made of PP and *** compositional patterns of OPEs varied among different polymer types but were generally dominated by bisphenol A bis(diphenyl phosphate),triphenyl phosphate,tris(1-chloro-2-propyl)phosphate,di-phenyl phosphate(DPHP),and bis(2-ethylhexyl)*** industrially applied di-OPEs(di-n-butyl phosphate and DPHP)exhibited higher levels than their respective tri-OPEs,contrary to their production *** non-industrially applied chlorinated di-OPEs were also detected,with concentrations up to 97,000 ng/*** findings suggest that degradation of tri-OPEs during the manufacturing and use of products is an important source of *** mass inventories of tri-OPEs and di-OPEs in consumer products were estimated at 3,100 and 750 tons/year,*** study highlights the importance of consumer products as emission sources of a broad suite of OPEs.

提出了具有时间异质性的SI（susceptible-infected）传播模型。通过构建异质的时间间隔序列,将微博信息传播动力学过程在无标度网络上仿真。研究结果发现信息新接受个体数n（t）以幂律形式减少,n（t）~t-β。与传统假设的时间间隔服从泊松分布的信息传播模型相比,时间间隔服从幂律分布的传播速度要缓慢很多。同时,传播动力学的幂指数β受行为时间间隔分布幂指数α影响,且具有关系β≈α-1。本文的仿真分析结果与理论预测结果一致。

对边条翼布局的双垂尾抖振进行了较为深入的数值模拟研究。模拟来流马赫数为0.2,迎角为10°-40°。通过非定常Euler方程计算各迎角下的非定常流场及垂尾根部弯矩系数。并将随时间脉动的根部弯矩系数进行计算得到根部弯矩系数均方根值,从而得出根部弯矩响应大小随迎角的变化曲线。结合流场特性对该布局双垂尾抖振的发生机理及抖振响应随迎角的变化规律作了深入分析。结果表明：该边条翼布局双垂尾抖振主要是由于边条破裂涡作用在垂尾上的脉动载荷引起的。最后,将垂尾根部弯矩响应的计算结果与该模型双垂尾抖振的风洞实验结果作了比较,结果符合得较好。
