Experimental and numerical study of combustion characteristics of ammonia-hydrogen-air swirling flame with/without secondary air injection

Ammonia (NH_(3)) is currently considered to be a potential carbon-free alternative fuel,and its large-scale use as such would certainly decrease greenhouse gas emissions and meet increasingly stringent emission *** the low flame propagation speed and high NO production of NH_(3) hinder its direct application as a renewable fuel,co-combustion of NH_(3)–H_(2)is an effective way to overcome these *** this study,the combustion characteristics of NH_(3)–H_(2)swirling flames under different equivalence ratios and H_2blending ratios conditions are both numerically and experimentally ***,the One-Dimensional (1D) laminar flame computation presents a comparison base and the Three-Dimensional (3D) numerical simulation yields detailed flame property ***,the high-speed camera takes instantaneous swirl flame images and the gas analyzer measures the NO emission at the exit plane of the flame *** and quantitative analysis is performed on the flame structure and NO emission for a series of NH_(3)–H_(2)swirl *** variation trends of the NO emission calculated using different techniques agree very *** quantitative results show that the NO emissions are much higher at lean equivalence ratios than those at rich equivalence ratios,and such difference is closely related to the combustion flame ***,it is shown that the utilization of secondary air injection can achieve a significant reduction in NO emissions at the exit of the combustion chamber at equivalence ratios less than or equal to 0.9.

The dynamic landscape of the Internet of Things(IoT)is set to revolutionize the pace of interaction among entities,ushering in a proliferation of applications characterized by heightened quality and *** the pivotal applications within the realm of IoT,as a significant example,the Smart Grid(SG)evolves into intricate networks of energy deployment marked by data *** evolution concurrently entails data interchange with other IoT ***,there are also several challenges including data-sharing overheads and the intricate establishment of trusted centers in the IoT *** this paper,we introduce a hierarchical secure data-sharing platform empowered by cloud-fog ***,we propose a novel non-interactive zero-knowledge proof-based group authentication and key agreement protocol that supports one-to-many sharing sets of IoT data,especially SG *** security formal verification tool shows that the proposed scheme can achieve mutual authentication and secure data sharing while protecting the privacy of data *** with previous IoT data sharing schemes,the proposed scheme has advantages in both computational and transmission efficiency,and has more superiority with the increasing volume of shared data or increasing number of participants.

The prevalence of obesity has increased and is a health concern *** to the concerns regarding synthetic anti-obesity treatments,nowadays natural products become a *** studies proved that there is a potential to use marine algae as anti-obesity ***,in this study,the lipid inhibitory effect of crude polysaccharide of amyloglucosidase-assisted hydrolysate from Sargassum thunbergii(STAC)and its fucoidan fractions(STAFs)on 3T3-L1 cells and high-fat diet(HFD)-induced obese mice were *** to the results,the STAF3,showed the highest xylose content and exhibited significant inhibitory effects on lipid accumulation by downregulating adipogenic and lipogenic proteins in 3T3-L1 ***,oral supplementation with STAC significantly declined gain in body weight and fat weight,and serum lipid contents in an HFD-induced obesity mouse *** and chemical characterizations demonstrated that puritied STAF3 has consistent surface morphology and small particle size,with similar structural characteristics as commercial ***,these results indicate that STAC and purified STAF3 from Sargassum thunbergia is a potent source to develop as ananti-obesity agents or functional food products to counter obesity.

Exploring commercial water electrolyser systems: a data-based analysis of product characteristics

The urgency for energy transition is evident through the increasing demand for new technologies such as water electrolysers (WEs), which have the potential to generate green hydrogen using renewable electricity. This paper aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the technical capabilities of commercially available WE system products. The analysis is based on publicly accessible data gathered from 28 WE manufacturers worldwide with a total of 186 products, focusing on technology types and various technical characteristics of each WE system, including capacity, footprint, hydrogen output pressure, hydrogen purity and conversion rate. The analysis reveals that the current WE system solutions in the market exhibit diverse and varied characteristics. Further, there is a lack of standardized product specifications adopted by manufacturers. This underscores the urgent need for the development of frameworks and standards. Implementing such standards is crucial for enhancing clarity and understanding, facilitating efficient comparisons and selection processes, and supporting the future advancement of WE technologies and WE-enabled Power-to-X applications on a global scale. A comprehensive overview of the technical capabilities of commercially available water electrolysis system products is presented. The analysis is based on publicly accessible data gathered from manufacturers worldwide, focusing on technology types and technical characteristics, including capacity, conversion rate, footprint, hydrogen output pressure, hydrogen purity and efficiency. Objective Brain metastases significantly impact the clinical course of patients with hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).This study aimed to examine the age-related incidence,demographics,and survival of patients with HCC and brain *** Data of HCC patients from 2010 to 2015 in the Surveillance,Epidemiology,and End Results(SEER)Registry were screened for the presence of brain *** were stratified by age and *** logistic and Cox regression analyses were used to identify factors associated with brain metastases and those with overall survival(OS)and liver cancer-specific survival(CSS),*** A total of 141 HCC patients presenting with brain metastases were identified,accounting for 0.35% of all HCC patients and 2.37% of patients with metastatic *** all HCC patients,the incidence rate was the highest among patients aged 30-49 years old(0.47%).Ethnicity was not associated with the presence of brain metastases at the time of HCC ***,African-American patients presented with a significantly lower disease-specific survival[median time:1 month;interquartile range(IQR):0-3.0 months].Initial lung or bone metastasis was independently associated with an increased risk of the presence of brain metastases[odds ratio(OR):12.62,95% confidence interval(CI):8.40-18.97]but was not associated with a worse OS or CSS among those with brain *** This study identified the age-related incidence and risk factors of brain metastases in HCC *** results may contribute to the consideration of brain screening among patients with initial metastatic HCC with lung or bone metastases,and influence the counseling of this patient population regarding their prognosis.

Chemical and mechanical properties of stainless, environment-friendly, and nonflammable Mg alloys (SEN alloys): A review

This review article provides overall understanding of stainless,environment-friendly,and nonflammable Mg alloys(SEN alloys)recently developed at the Korea Institute of Materials *** alloys are produced by adding small amounts of Ca and Y(each<1 wt%)into commercial Mg–Al based alloys,resulting in exceptional ignition and corrosion resistances and impressive mechanical *** main advantages of SEN alloys are as follows.(1)A dense multi-oxide layer of SEN alloys comprising MgO,CaO,and Y_(2)O_(3) impedes the outward dispersion of Mg vapor and the inward penetration of O_(2) during oxidation,thereby enhancing the oxidation and ignition resistances.(2)The presence of Ca-and Y-based second-phase particles in SEN alloys can enhance their corrosion resistance because Ca-containing particles prevent the spread of corrosion,and the replacement of Al-containing particles with less noble ones containing Y(e.g.,Al–Mn–Y or Al–Y particles)retards corrosion.(3)The addition of minor amounts of Ca and Y renders excellent mechanical properties due to improved strengthening *** enhanced properties are attributed to more pronounced dynamic recrystallization and grain refining behaviors caused by the second-phase particles during extrusion.(4)Despite the presence of various types of second-phase particles,the fatigue properties of SEN9 alloys are similar to those of commercial AZ91 alloys.(5)Simultaneous introduction of Ca and Y suppresses the formation of Mg17Al12 discontinuous precipitates during aging,leading to the enhanced elongation of aged SEN alloys.(6)Adding mischmetal into the SEN9 alloy leads to a six-fold enhancement in ***,the studies conducted on SEN alloys demonstrate their excellent ignition and corrosion resistances and mechanical properties,which broaden the industrial applications of Mg alloys by addressing their inherent weaknesses.

We demonstrate a new green solvent consisting of ionic liquid and polyol to achieve a selective fractionation of lignin from *** lignin from corn straw is rich in syringyl unit and phenolic hydroxyl group,resulting in excellent room-temperature phosphorescence(RTP)performance,antioxidation property and long-term *** film,fiber,aerogel and coatings with an ultralong RTP lifetime of 0.654 s are *** lignin from corn straw completely blocks UV light of290–400 nm at an extremely low usage due to many p-coumarate *** the content is as low as 1.54 mg/g,which is two orders of magnitude lower than the previous reports,the corresponding sunscreen cream has a super-high sun protection factor(SPF)of *** importantly,the lignin self-assembles into nanospheres of 250–350 nm,preventing penetration into the *** easily-available,abundant,low-cost,safe and natural lignin provides an innovative avenue for sustainable optical function materials.

Design study of charge-stripping scheme of heavy ion beams for HIAF-BRing

Charge strippers play an essential role in heavy-ion accelerators by stripping the projectile ions to higher charge states to enhance the acceleration efficiency downstream of the *** the high-energy mode of the booster ring(BRing)of the high-intensity heavy-ion accelerator facility,the pre-accelerated ions from the iLinac will be stripped by a carbon foil to higher charge states and then injected into the *** key parameters of the stripper and stripped ions were calculated,and the influence of stripping on the beam quality was *** get high stripping efficiencies,the foil thicknesses and resultant charge state distributions for the typical ions were determined by the code *** equilibrium thickness was obtained for the U beam,while the stripper thicknesses for the Xe and Kr beams were determined based on a compromise between the stripped charge states and the stripping *** energy loss,energy straggling,and emittance growth due to stripping have a non-negligible impact on the transport of the stripped beams and the injection of the ***,these parameters were simulated by *** addition,the foil’s temperature evolution,which greatly affects the foil lifetime,was simulated by *** maximum temperature of the foil bombarded by the U and Xe beams with the nominal parameters will exceed the safe value in terms of the impact of evaporation on the foil’s *** the foil temperature constraint,the highest tolerable beam intensity and the injected ion number into the ring were derived for different beam *** results of this paper will present important reference data for the optimization design and commissioning of the beamline and injection to the BRing for the stripped ions.
