The N-terminal EF-hand calcium-binding proteins 1–3(NECAB1–3) constitute a family of predominantly neuronal proteins characterized by the presence of at least one EF-hand calcium-binding domain and a functionally less well characterized C-terminal antibiotic biosynthesis monooxygenase domain. All three family members were initially discovered due to their interactions with other proteins. NECAB1 associates with synaptotagmin-1, a critical neuronal protein involved in membrane trafficking and synaptic vesicle exocytosis. NECAB2 interacts with predominantly striatal g-protein-coupled receptors, while NECAB3 partners with amyloid-β A4 precursor protein-binding family A members 2 and 3, key regulators of amyloid-β production. This demonstrates the capacity of the family for interactions with various classes of proteins. NECAB proteins exhibit distinct subcellular localizations: NECAB1 is found in the nucleus and cytosol, NECAB2 resides in endosomes and the plasma membrane, and NECAB3 is present in the endoplasmic reticulum and golgi apparatus. The antibiotic biosynthesis monooxygenase domain, an evolutionarily ancient component, is akin to atypical heme oxygenases in prokaryotes but is not wellcharacterized in vertebrates. Prokaryotic antibiotic biosynthesis monooxygenase domains typically form dimers, suggesting that calcium-mediated conformational changes in NECAB proteins may induce antibiotic biosynthesis monooxygenase domain dimerization, potentially activating some enzymatic properties. However, the substrate for this enzymatic activity remains uncertain. Alternatively, calcium-mediated conformational changes might influence protein interactions or the subcellular localization of NECAB proteins by controlling the availability of protein–protein interaction domains situated between the EF hands and the antibiotic biosynthesis monooxygenase domain. Regulated cell death is a form of cell death that is actively controlled by *** studies have shown that regulated cell death plays a key role after spinal cord *** and ferroptosis are newly discovered types of regulated cell deaths that have been shown to exacerbate inflammation and lead to cell death in damaged spinal ***,a complex form of cell death that is interconnected with various regulated cell death mechanisms,has garnered significant attention in the study of spinal cord *** injury triggers not only cell death but also cellular survival *** signaling pathways play pivotal roles in influencing the processes of both deterioration and repair in spinal cord injury by regulating pyroptosis,ferroptosis,and ***,this review aims to comprehensively examine the mechanisms underlying regulated cell deaths,the signaling pathways that modulate these mechanisms,and the potential therapeutic targets for spinal cord *** analysis suggests that targeting the common regulatory signaling pathways of different regulated cell deaths could be a promising strategy to promote cell survival and enhance the repair of spinal cord ***,a holistic approach that incorporates multiple regulated cell deaths and their regulatory pathways presents a promising multi-target therapeutic strategy for the management of spinal cord injury.

This paper investigates the unsteady stagnation-point flow and heat transfer over a moving plate with mass transfer,which is also an exact solution to the unsteady Navier-Stokes(NS)*** boundary layer energy equation is solved with the closed form solutions for prescribed wall temperature and prescribed wall heat flux *** wall temperature and heat flux have power dependence on both time and spatial *** solution domain,the velocity distribution,the flow field,and the temperature distribution in the fluids are studied for different controlling *** parameters include the Prandtl number,the mass transfer parameter at the wall,the wall moving parameter,the time power index,and the spatial power *** is found that two solution branches exist for certain combinations of the controlling parameters for the flow and heat transfer *** heat transfer solutions are given by the confluent hypergeometric function of the first kind,which can be simplified into the incomplete gamma functions for special *** wall heat flux and temperature profiles show very complicated variation *** wall heat flux can have multiple poles under certain given controlling parameters,and the temperature can have significant oscillations with overshoot and negative values in the boundary *** relationship between the number of poles in the wall heat flux and the number of zero-crossing points is *** difference in the results of the prescribed wall temperature case and the prescribed wall heat flux case is *** given in this paper provide a rare closed form analytical solution to the entire unsteady NS equations,which can be used as a benchmark problem for numerical code validation.

Traumatic brain injury, chronic traumatic encephalopathy, and Alzheimer's disease are three distinct neurological disorders that share common pathophysiological mechanisms involving neuroinflammation. One sequela of neuroinflammation includes the pathologic hyperphosphorylation of tau protein, an endogenous microtubule-associated protein that protects the integrity of neuronal cytoskeletons. Tau hyperphosphorylation results in protein misfolding and subsequent accumulation of tau tangles forming neurotoxic aggregates. These misfolded proteins are characteristic of traumatic brain injury, chronic traumatic encephalopathy, and Alzheimer's disease and can lead to downstream neuroinflammatory processes, including assembly and activation of the inflammasome complex. Inflammasomes refer to a family of multimeric protein units that, upon activation, release a cascade of signaling molecules resulting in caspase-induced cell death and inflammation mediated by the release of interleukin-1β cytokine. One specific inflammasome, the NOD-like receptor protein 3, has been proposed to be a key regulator of tau phosphorylation where it has been shown that prolonged NOD-like receptor protein 3 activation acts as a causal factor in pathological tau accumulation and spreading. This review begins by describing the epidemiology and pathophysiology of traumatic brain injury, chronic traumatic encephalopathy, and Alzheimer's disease. Next, we highlight neuroinflammation as an overriding theme and discuss the role of the NOD-like receptor protein 3 inflammasome in the formation of tau deposits and how such tauopathic entities spread throughout the brain. We then propose a novel framework linking traumatic brain injury, chronic traumatic encephalopathy, and Alzheimer's disease as inflammasomedependent pathologies that exist along a temporal continuum. Finally, we discuss potential therapeutic targets that may intercept this pathway and ultimately minimize long-term neurological decline.

YSi alloy is a promising candidate as oxidation resistant coatings for both the bond coat of environmental barrier coatings(EBCs)and anti-ablation coatings at a high temperature of∼1300℃.In this study,a one-step multi-compositional oxidation by rapid heating oxidation mode is proposed to reduce the oxidation rate by 3.6 times compared to conventional slow heating oxidation *** show that preferentially formed Y_(2)O_(3) oxide initiates a multi-step oxidation,produces a cracking and porous oxides,and thereby resulting in a fast oxidation with *** one-step multi-compositional oxidation with a compact and dense Y_(2)Si_(2)O_(7)scale contributes to the much better oxidation resistance for rapid heating oxidation mode of YSi *** stable formation of Y_(2)Si_(2)O_(7)scale is comprehensively understood by the energy barrier,charge density and electronic level based on density functional *** study demonstrates a promising application of YSi alloy by rapid heating oxidation mode.

This paper investigates the unsteady stagnation point flow and heat transfer of magnetohydrodynamic(MHD) fluids over a moving permeable flat surface. The unsteady Navier-Stokes(NS) equations are transformed into a similarity nonlinear ordinary differential equation, and a closed form solution is obtained for the unsteadiness parameter of 2. The boundary layer energy equation is transformed into a similarity equation,and is solved for a constant wall temperature and a time-dependent uniform wall heat flux case. The solution domain, velocity, and temperature profiles are calculated for different combinations of parameters including the Prandtl number, mass transfer parameter, wall moving parameter, and magnetic parameter. Two solution branches are obtained for certain combinations of the controlling parameters, and a stability analysis demonstrates that the lower solution branch is not stable. The present solutions provide an exact solution to the entire unsteady MHD NS equations, which can be used for validating the numerical code of computational fluid dynamics.
