The lobster Eye Imager for Astronomy(lEIA),a pathfinder of the Wide-field x-ray Telescope of the Einstein Probe mission,was successfully launched onboard the sATech-01 satellite of the Chinese Academy of sciences on2022 july *** this paper,we introduce the design and on-ground test results of the lEIA *** stateof-the-art Micro-Pore Optics(MPO),a wide field of view of 346 square degrees(18.6°×18.6°)of the x-ray imager is *** optical assembly composed of 36 MPO chips is used to focus incident x-ray photons,and four large-format complementary metal-oxide semiconductor(CMOs)sensors,each of size 6 cm×6 cm,are used as the focal plane *** instrument has an angular resolution of 4’-8’(in terms of FWHM)for the central focal spot of the point-spread function,and an effective area of 2-3 cm^(2) at 1 keV in essentially all the directions within the field of *** detection passband is 0.5-4 keV in soft x-rays and the sensitivity is2-3×10^(-11) erg s^(-1) cm^(-2)(about 1 milliCrab)with a 1000 s *** total weight of lEIA is 56 kg and the power is 85 *** satellite,with a design lifetime of 2 yr,operates in a sun-synchronous orbit of 500 km with an orbital period of 95 *** is paving the way for future missions by verifying in flight the technologies of both novel focusing imaging optics and CMOs sensors for x-ray observation,and by optimizing the working setups of the instrumental *** addition,lEIA is able to carry out scientific observations to find new transients and to monitor known sources in the soft x-ray band,albeit with limited useful observing time available.

In this work, the influences of alumina addition on cristobalite crystallization and properties of injec- tion molded silica-based ceramic cores were investigated. x-ray diffraction （xRD） was used to characterize phase transformations in the samples, and the xRD result indicated that the addition of alumina pro- moted crystallization of fused silica during sintering at 1180-1220 ℃ and thus increases the amount of cristobalite. The increased amount of cristobalite as well as alumina addition led to much more thermal dilation due to their higher coefficients of thermal expansion than that of fused silica. The flexural strengths at room temperature and 1500 ~C were tested, and it was shown that alumina addition could not affect room temperature strength, but decreased the flexural strength at 1500 ℃. In addition, deflection resis- tance during heating to high temperatures was investigated, and the result indicated that alumina addition speeded up high temperature softening of the samples. xRD and scanning electron microscopy equipped with energy dispersive spectrometry （sEMjEDs） analysis suggested that this softening behavior was related with viscous flow sintering which could be accelerated by the reaction of alumina and silica with a product of mullite.

The strong-coupling mode,called the"quasimode",is excited by stimulated brillouin scattering(sbs)in high-intensity laser-plasma *** sbs of the quasimode competes with sbs of the fast mode(or slow mode)in multiion species plasmas,thus leading to a low-frequency burst behavior of sbs *** between the quasimode and the ion-acoustic wave(IAW)is an important saturation mechanism of sbs in high-intensity laser-plasma *** results give a clear explanation of the low-frequency periodic burst behavior of sbs and should be considered as a saturation mechanism of sbs in high-intensity laser-plasma interactions.

The superτ-charm facility(sTCF)is an electron–positron collider proposed by the Chinese particle physics *** is designed to operate in a center-of-mass energy range from 2 to 7 geV with a peak luminosity of 0.5×10^(35) cm^(–2)·s^(–1) or *** sTCF will produce a data sample about a factor of 100 larger than that of the presentτ-charm factory—the bEPCII,providing a unique platform for exploring the asymmetry of matter-antimatter(charge-parity violation),in-depth studies of the internal structure of hadrons and the nature of non-perturbative strong interactions,as well as searching for exotic hadrons and physics beyond the standard *** sTCF project in China is under development with an extensive R&D *** document presents the physics opportunities at the sTCF,describes conceptual designs of the sTCF detector system,and discusses future plans for detector R&D and physics case studies.

Mechanical properties were tested for in situ Tib2/A357 composite fabricated by lsM (mixed salts reaction) method. Micro structures of as cast and plastic deformed Tib2/A357 were investigated. The results show that there is a low misfit between (200) Al and (101)Tib2 with [011]//Al [101]Tib2. There is a change from fully dendritic structure of the α-Al of A357 to a rosette-type structure of Tib2/A357. significant increases in proof stress and young's modulus can be obtained at low Tib2 additions. There exist dislocation loops around neighboring Tib2 particles with about 0.1μm in diameter and dislocation multiplication near Tib2 particles.

by using the ultrasound-assisted liquid phase exfoliation method, bi_2Te_3 nanosheets are synthesized and deposited onto a quartz plate to form a kind of saturable absorber(sA), in which nonlinear absorption properties around 2 μm are analyzed with a home-made mode-locked laser. With the as-prepared bi_2Te_3 sA employed,a stable passively q-switched all-solid-state 2 μm laser is successfully realized. q-switched pulses with a maximum average output power of 2.03 W are generated under an output coupling of 5%, corresponding to the maximum single-pulse energy of 18.4 μj and peak power of 23 W. The delivered shortest pulse duration and maximum repetition rate are 620 ns and 118 k Hz under an output coupling of 2%, respectively. It is the first presentation of such bi_2Te_3 sA employed in a solid-state q-switched crystalline laser at 2 μm, to the best of our knowledge. In comparison with other 2 D materials suitable for pulsed 2 μm lasers, the saturable absorption performance of bi_2Te_3 sA is proved to be promising in generating high power and high-repetition-rate 2 μm laser pulses.

Chemical pressure induced by iso-valent doping has been widely employed to tune physical properties of materials. In this work, we report effects of chemical pressure by substitution of sb or P into As on a recently discovered diluted magnetic semiconductor(ba,K)(zn,Mn)_2 As_2, which has the record of reliable Curie temperature of 230 K due to independent charge and spin doping. sb and P are substituted into As-site to produce negative and positive chemical pressures, respectively.x-ray diffraction results demonstrate the successful chemical solution of dopants. Magnetic properties of both K-underdoped and K-optimal-doped samples are effectively tuned by sb-and P-doping. The Hall effect measurements do not show decrease in carrier concentrations upon sb-and P-doping. Impressively, magnetoresistance is significantly improved from7% to 27% by only 10% P-doping, successfully extending potential application of(ba,K)(zn,Mn)_2 As_2.

background The gravitational wave highly energetic Electromagnetic Counterpart All-sky Monitor(gECAM)is dedicated to detecting gravitational wave gamma-ray *** is capable of all-sky monitoring over and discovering gamma-ray bursts and new radiation *** consists of two microsatellites,each equipped with 8 charged particle detectors(CPDs)and 25 gamma-ray detectors(gRDs).Purpose The CPD is used to measure charged particles in the space environment,monitor energy and flow intensity changes,and identify between gamma-ray bursts and space charged particle events in conjunction with *** CPD uses plastic scintillator as the sensitive material for detection,silicon photomultiplier array as the optically readable device,and the inlaid Am-241 radioactive source as the onboard calibration *** In this paper,we will present the working principle,physical design,functional implementation and preliminary performance test results of the *** a result,the energy range of electron,gamma-ray detection efficiency and dead time are tested to be better than the indexes required through the ground calibration experiment.
