目的对有关7种用以治疗儿童和成人部分性和全面性难治性癫癎的新型抗癫癎药物(AEDs):加巴喷丁(gabapentin, GBP)、拉莫三嗪(lamotrigine,LTG)、托吡酯(topiramate,TPM)、噻加宾(tiagabine,TGB)、奥卡西平(oxcarbazepine,OXC)、左乙拉西坦(levetiracetam,LEV)和唑尼沙胺(zonisamide,ZNS)的药力(efficacy)、耐受性和安全性进行评估。方法由23位成人神经病学家、小儿神经病学家、癫癎病学家和药理学家组成的专家组,依据从1987年到2002年9月Medline,Current Contents和Cochrane上发表的相关文献和2003年以前的指南提供的证据进行循证医学评估。结果所有新型抗癫癎药物都适用于成人难治性部分性癫癎的添加治疗,加巴喷丁对混合性癎性发作有效,加巴喷丁、拉莫三嗪、托吡酯和奥卡西平对儿童难治性部分性癫癎有效。有限的证据还表明,拉莫三嗪和托吡酯对成人和儿童特发性全面性发作和Lennox-Gastaut综合征的添加治疗也有效。结论抗癫癎药物的选择要考虑癫癎发作和/或癫癎综合征的类型、患者的年龄、合用的药物、药物的耐受性、安全性和药力等因素。循证医学评估结果提供了难治性癫癎患者的抗癫癎药物应用指南,但尚需更为有力的证据用以鉴定其在癫癎型或综合征中疗效。

The main aim of this paper is to present humanity and termites as design partners in the creation of a new dimension of ecosystem understanding. The paper by Turner and Soar, Beyond biomimicry： What termites can tell us about realizing the living building＂（2008） opens up a new era in how we think of human habitations, not only on earth, but perhaps on other planets, and using the termite model as the comer stone of innovative engineering. We know that termites are masters of constructing ＇buildings＇ that meet all nutrition, energy, waste disposal needs, shelter, and food sources for many other animals and insects. We need to emulate the symbiotic abilities of termites to survive over time, for we all live on this symbiotic planet, and symbiosis is natural and common.

The poplar petiole gall aphid, Pemphiguspopulitransversus Riley, has been one of the major pests on cruciferous vegetable in the Rio Grande Valley （LRGV） of Texas since the late 1940s. It normally migrates from poplar trees to cruciferous vegetables in the fall, and migrates back to the trees in early spring of the coming year. Some root-feeding aphids were found on cruciferous vegetables in late spring and early summer in 1998 and the following years. Those aphids have been identified as Pemphigus obesinymphae Moran. This discovery completely changed the current knowledge about the root-feeding aphids on cruciferous vegetables in the LRGV. Due to their small size, morphological and feeding similarities between P. populitransversus and P. obesinymphae, their identification and distinction are difficult. In this study, random amplification of polymorphic DNA （RAPD） and amplified fragment length polymorphism （AFLP） were used to distinguish these two species over a period of time when the two species occurred together, or separately, in cabbage fields. The two species occurred on cabbage at different times of the year, and overlapped from October to june. From May to October, both species migrated to their primary hosts. The apterous aphids found on cabbage in winter contained mainly P. obesinymphae, whereas in early spring more apterous P. populitransversus were recovered. The root-feeding aphids would feed on cabbage plants as long as this host was available even during the hot, dry summer in the LRGV, although their populations were generally low. Both RAPD and AFLP techniques were efficient in discriminating the two species that showed obviously genetic variability. These molecular techniques confirmed the existence of the two aphid species in apterous samples collected from the soil in cabbage fields in the LRGV, and the results performed by RAPD were confirmed by AFLP. Systemic inflammation is a feature of chronic obstructive pulmo- nary disease （COPD）. Defects in T cell-mediated anti-inflamma- tory pathways such as cytotoxic T lymphocyte antigen-4 （CTLA- 4） may promote damaging inflammation. This study provides novel data implicating the impaired induction of an anti-inflam- matory molecule, CTLA-4 in the elevated inflammation observed in COPD patients. Low induction of CTLA-4 in COPD patients paralleled increased markers of systemic inflammation ex vivo and increased T-cell responses to a bacterial superantigen, staphylo- coccal enterotoxin-B （SEB） in vitro. This mechanism may explain the increased inflammation in COPD patients.

AIM To investigate the hypothesis that exposure to guanidinoacetate(GAA, a potent methyl-group consumer) either alone or combined with ethanol intake for a prolonged period of time would cause more advanced liver pathology thus identifying methylation defects as the initiator and stimulator for progressive liver *** Adult male Wistar rats were fed the control or ethanolLieber De Carli diet in the absence or presence of GAA supplementation. At the end of 6 wk of the feeding regimen, various biochemical and histological analyses were conducted. RESULTS Contrary to our expectations, we observed that GAA treatment alone resulted in a histologically normal liver without evidence of hepatosteatosis despite persistence of some abnormal biochemical parameters. This protection could result from the generation of creatine from the ingested GAA. Ethanol treatment for 6 wk exhibited changes in liver methionine metabolism and persistence of histological and biochemical defects as reported before. Further, when the rats were fed the GAA-supplemented ethanol diet, similar histological and biochemical changes as observed after 2 wk of combined treatment, including inflammation, macroand micro-vesicular steatosis and a marked decrease in the methylation index were noted. In addition, rats on the combined treatment exhibited increased liver toxicity and even early fibrotic changes in a subset of animals in this group. The worsening liver pathology could be related to the profound reduction in the hepatic methylation index, an increased accumulation of GAA and the inability of creatine generated to exert its hepato-protective effects in the setting of *** To conclude, prolonged exposure to a methyl consumer superimposed on chronic ethanol consumption causes persistent and pronounced liver damage.

The complete and incomplete fusion cross sections for ^(6)Li+^(209)Bi were measured using the in-beamγ-ray method around the Coulomb *** cross sections of(deuteron captured)incomplete fusion(ICF)products were re-quantified experimentally for this reaction *** results reveal that the ICF cross section is equivalent to that of complete fusion(CF)above the Coulomb barrier and dominant near or below the Coulomb barrier.A theoretical calculation based on the continuum discretized coupled channel(CDCC)method was performed for the aforementioned CF and ICF cross sections;the result is consistent with the *** universal fusion function(UFF)was also compared with the measured CF cross section for different barrier parameters,demonstrating that the CF suppression factor is significantly influenced by the choice of potential,which can reflect both dynamic and static effects of breakup on the fusion process.

The complete and incomplete fusion cross section as well as one-neutron stripping process of ^(6)Li+^(94)Zr system were measured at the energies around the Coulomb barrier by onlineγ-ray *** addition to a 30%suppression factor when compared with the measured total fusion process,the complete fusion cross section in ^(6)Li+^(94)Zr system was observed to be significantly lower than those in the nearby ^(6)Li+^(90,96)Zr *** new experimental result implies that the coupling with breakup channel in the ^(6)Li-induced fusion processes can be affected by the inner structure of the target,which is still not clear in any available model *** the one-neutron stripping process,the direct production cross sections for each level in 95Zr were extracted and compared with the coupled reaction channel calculation,offering a unique opportunity to examine the single-particle nature of the produced excited *** the fact that an overall overestimation of the production cross section for 954-keV and1618-keV levels was observed in the comparison,further investigation is highly demanded in order to understand the full reaction mechanism for the one-neutron stripping process induced by ^(6)Li.
