Analysis of docosanol using GC/MS:Method development,validation,and application to ex vivo human skin permeation studies

Docosanol is the only US Food and Drug Administration(FDA)approved over-the-counter topical product for treating recurrent oral-facial herpes simplex *** analytical methods for docosanol are required to demonstrate the bioequivalence of docosanol topical products.A gas chromatography/selected ion monitoring mode mass spectrometry(GC/SIM-MS)method was developed and validated for docosanol determination in biological *** and isopropyl palmitate(internal standard)were separated on a high-polarity GC capillary column with(88%cyanopropy)aryl-polysiloxane employed as the stationary *** ions of m/z 83 and 256 were selected to monitor docosanol and isopropyl palmitate,respectively;the total run time was 20 *** GC/SIM-MS method was validated in accordance with US FDA guidelines,and the results met the US FDA acceptance *** docosanol calibration standards were linear in the 100-10000 ng/mL concentration range(R^(2)>0.994).The recoveries for docosanol from the receptor fluid and skin homogenates were>93.2%and>95.8%,*** validated method was successfully applied to analyze ex vivo human cadaver skin permeation *** applying Abreva®cream tube and Abreva®cream pump,the amount of docosanol that penetrated human cadaver skin at 48 h was 21.5±7.01 and 24.0±6.95 ng/mg,***,we concluded that the validated GC/SIM-MS was sensitive,specific,and suitable for quantifying docosanol as a quality control *** method can be used for routine analysis as a costeffective alternative to other techniques.

A combination of sodium borohydride and a catalytic amount of indium（Ⅲ） chloride in acetonitrile reduces imines formed in-situ from aldehydes and amines to the corresponding functionalised secondary and tertiary amines in moderate to good yields. Noteworthy is that highly chemoselective reactions were achieved in the presence of other functional groups such as halogens, carbon-carbon double bonds and hydroxyl groups.

Evolution of computational modeling and simulation has given more emphasis on the research activities related to carbon nanotube(CNT)reinforced polymer composites *** paper presents the composite cylinder assemblage(CCA)approach based on continuum mechanics for investigating the elastic properties of a polymer resin reinforced by multi-walled carbon nanotubes(MWCNTs).A three-phase cylindrical representative volume element(RVE)model is employed based on CCA technique to elucidate the effects of inter layers,chirality,interspacing,volume fraction of MWCNT,interphase properties and temperature conditions on the elastic modulus of the *** interface region between CNT and polymer matrix is modeled as the third phase with varying material *** constitutive relations for each material system have been derived based on solid mechanics and proper interfacial traction continuity conditions are *** predicted results from the CCA approach are in well agreement with RVE-based finite element *** outcomes reveal that temperature softening effect becomes more pronounced at higher volume fractions of CNTs.

Human Activity Recognition(HAR)has been made simple in recent years,thanks to recent advancements made in Artiﬁcial Intelligence(AI)*** techniques are applied in several areas like security,surveillance,healthcare,human-robot interaction,and *** wearable sensor-based HAR system includes in-built sensors,human activities can be categorized based on sensor ***,it can also be employed in other applications such as gait diagnosis,observation of children/adult’s cognitive nature,stroke-patient hospital direction,Epilepsy and Parkinson’s disease examination,***-developed Artiﬁcial Intelligence(AI)techniques,especially Deep Learning(DL)models can be deployed to accomplish effective outcomes on HAR *** this motivation,the current research paper focuses on designing Intelligent Hyperparameter Tuned Deep Learning-based HAR(IHPTDL-HAR)technique in healthcare *** proposed IHPTDL-HAR technique aims at recogniz-ing the human actions in healthcare environment and helps the patients in mana-ging their healthcare *** addition,the presented model makes use of Hierarchical Clustering(HC)-based outlier detection technique to remove the ***-HAR technique incorporates DL-based Deep Belief Network(DBN)model to recognize the activities of ***,Harris Hawks Opti-mization(HHO)algorithm is used for hyperparameter tuning of DBN ***,a comprehensive experimental analysis was conducted upon benchmark dataset and the results were examined under different *** experimental results demonstrate that the proposed IHPTDL-HAR technique is a superior per-former compared to other recent techniques under different measures.

In this paper, we have applied the Lie algebraic model to nano-bio molecules to determine the vibrational spectra of different stretching and bending vibrational modes. The determined vibrational energy levels by the Lie algebraic model are compared with the experimental data. The results from the theoretical mode[ are consistent with the experimental data. The vibrational energy levels are clustering in the excited states.

Safety and Efficacy of a Novel Everolimus-Eluting Stent System in “Real-World” Patients with Coronary Artery Disease: A Report of Preliminary Outcomes

Introduction: Tetrilimus (Sahaj.nand Medical Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Surat, India) is a recently-introduced biodegradable-polymer coated everolimus-eluting cobalt-chromium coronary stent system with an ultra-thin strut thickness. We aimed to evaluate the clinical outcomes with Tetrilimus coronary stents in “real-world” patients with coronary artery disease. Methods: In this retrospective, single-arm, open-label, multi-center registry, all consecutive patients who received Tetrilimus stents between j.ly-2015 and April-2016 at two tertiary-care centers in India were analyzed. Primary endpoint was 30-day incidence of maj.r adverse cardiac events (MACE), defined as a composite of cardiac death, myocardial infarction, target lesion revascularization, and target vessel revascularization. The Academic Research Consortium (ARC)-defined stent thrombosis was assessed as additional safety endpoint. Results: During the study period, 280 Tetrilimus stents (1.4 ± 0.5 stent/patient) were implanted to treat 252 coronary lesions (1.1 ± 0.3 stent/lesion) in 208 patients (age: 57.5 ± 11.9 years). Of study population, 65.9% were males, 46.6% were hypertensives, 25% were diabetics, 36.5% were alcoholics, 29.3% were smokers, 13.9% were tobacco chewers, 5.3% had previous revascularization, and 45.2% displayed multi-vessel disease. Of treated lesions, 67.5% were complex and 18.7% had total occlusion. Average length and diameter of implanted stents were 25.5 ± 8.8 mm and 2.9 ± 0.3 mm respectively. Subsequently, 30-day MACE were reported in 2 (0.96%) patients;both cases owing to in-hospital cardiac deaths. Events of stent thrombosis or noncardiac death were not reported in any patient. Conclusion: Low MACE rates and absence of stent thrombosis at early 30-day follow-up indicates that Tetrilimus everolimus-eluting stents may have encouraging safety and efficacy in unselected “real-world” patients with coronary artery disease.
