The theory of rhetorical figures in cinema is highly problematic, besides it can be considered as outdated as the semiotic theory of cinema,1 yet it is convenient to reexamine the idea of＂cinematographic metaphor＂ in order to throw some light on the dominant idea of cinema as narrative medium. In this paper we will examine：（l） the supposedly existing metaphor of urban and industrial man as sheep at the beginn!ng of Chaplin＇s film Modern Times; and （2） the sequence of the awakening stone lion in Eisenstein＇s Battleship Potemkin as metaphor of the proletarian revolt against czarism. We will arrive to the notion of a purely metaphoric film, which together with Zavattini＇s ideal film showing 90 minutes in the life of a man to whom nothing happens, will helps us draw some conclusions about montage and narrativity in cinema. Especially interesting in this connection is the fact that symbolical shots as the mentioned ones are like description in literature, that is, they have nothing to do neither with the time of the story nor with the time of the discourse.

Metastasic cardiac disease from the breast is rarely diagnosed in the lifetime. It has a poor prognosis and limited management. Both echocardiography and computerized tomography (CT) should be the first imaging studies in suspicion of this entity. Other diagnostic methods should be based on the possibilities of treatment although a histopathological analysis of the metastasic mass is needed to confirm the diagnosis. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) could be useful to complete a morphological and functional evaluation in case of surgical removal.

We carry out a detailed analysis of the X3.5 solar flare that occurred on 2002 j.ly 20, which is the strongest partially limb-occulted flare ever observed by the RHESSI satellite. The main results are：（1） during the main impulsive phase that lasts ,-10 minutes, the motion of the thermal sources follows a U-shaped traj.ctory. Nonthermal sources move in a similar way, but in a series of larger zigzags. We further show that the non-thermal sources are actually leading the contraction motion. （2） During the main impulsive phase, X-ray sources at different energies continuously form a loop-like configuration, with the highest energy source （up to ,- 100 keV） and the lowest energy source （down to ,- 10 keV） being located at two ends. The entire loop-like configuration moves in a U-shaped traj.ctory, while keeping the order of descending energy from highest to lowest during motion. Two non-thermal hard X- ray sources with different energies are spatially well separated in the distribution. The unusual complexities of the X-ray emissions in the tenuous solar corona challenge interpretations using bremsstrahlung in a simple magnetic configuration.

Quasiclassical traj.ctory calculation of the title reaction O（^3P）＋H2→OH＋H at three different scattering energies of 0.5, 0.75, and 1.0 eV on the lowest electronic potential energy surface 1^3A＂ has been done. Distribution P（θr） of polar angles between the relative velocityk of the reactant and rotational angular momentum vector j. of the product, distribution P（φr） of the azimuthal as well as dihedral angles correlating k-k＇-j., 3-dimensional distri-bution, and polarization-dependent differential cross sections （PDDCSs）dependent upon the scattering angle of the product molecule OH between the relative velocity k of the reactant and k＇ of the product at different scattering energies of 0.5, 0.75, and 1.0 eV are presented and discussed.

Background: Cardiac pain arising from acute coronary syndrome (ACS) is a multi-factorial phenomenon. Historically, episodes of cardiac pain have been captured using a one-dimensional numeric pain rating scale. Lacking in clinical practice are acute pain assessments that employ a comprehensive evaluation of an emergent ACS episode. Aim: To examine the sensory-discriminative, motivational-affective and cognitive-evaluative dimensions of ACS-related pain. Methods: A descriptive-correlational, repeated-measure design was used to collect data on 121 ACS patients of their cardiac pain intensity. The (numeric rating scale-NRS 0-10 scale) measured chest pain “Now” and “Worst pain in the previous 2 hours over 8 hours” and the McGill Pain Questionnaire Short-Form (MPQ-SF) measured pain at 4 hours. Results: Mean age was 67.6 ± 13, 50% were male, 60% had unstable angina and 40% had Non-ST-elevation myocardial infarction. Cardiac pain intensity scores remained in the mild range from 1.1 ± 2.2 to 2.4 ± 2.7. MPQ-SF: 66% described pain as distressing and 26% reported pain was horrible or excruciating. Participants described ACS pain quality as acute inj.ry (nociceptive pain: heavy, cramping, stabbing), as nerve damage (neuropathic: gnawing, hot-burning, shooting) and as a mixture of acute and chronic pain qualities (aching, tender and throbbing). Conclusions: Patients reported both nociceptive and neuropathic cardiac pain. It is unclear if pain perceptions are due to: i) pathophysiology of clot formation, ii) occurrence of a first or repeated ACS episode, or iii) complex co-morbidities. Pain arising from ACS requires an understanding of the interplay of ischemic, metabolic and neuropathophysiological mechanisms that contribute to complex cardiac pain experiences.

The lysosome is responsible for protein and organelle degradation and homeostasis and the cathepsins play a key role in maintaining protein quality *** D(CTSD),is one such lysosomal protease,which when deficient in humans lead to neurolipofuscinosis(NCL)and is important in removing toxic protein *** studies demonstrated that CTSD germ-line knockout-CtsdKO(CDKO)resulted in accumulation of protein aggregates,decreased proteasomal activities,and postnatal lethality on Day 26±*** of wildtype CTSD,but not cathepsin B,L or mutant CTSD,decreased a-synuclein toxicity in worms and mammalian *** this study we generated a mouse line expressing human CTSD with a floxed STOP cassette between the ubiquitous CAG promoter and the *** crossing with Nestin-cre,the STOP cassette is deleted in NESTIN+cells to allow CTSD overexpression-CTSDtg(CDtg).The CDtg mice exhibited normal behavior and similar sensitivity to subchronic 1-methyl-4-phenyl-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridine(MPTP)induced *** breeding CDtg mice with CDKO mice,we found that over-expression of CTSD extended the lifespan of the CDKO mice,partially rescued proteasomal deficits and the accumulation of Aβ42 in the *** new transgenic mouse provides supports for the key role of CTSD in protecting against proteotoxicity and offers a new model to study the role of CTSD enhancement in vivo.

Single-crystal X-ray diffraction at pressures up to 50 GPa has been employed to study the compression behavior of Sm2Ti2O7-pyrochlore. In contrast to earlier reports, we observed no pressure-induced amorphization or pressure-induced anion disorder up to 50 GPa. The experimental study has been complemented by density functional theory-based calculations. A combination of the theoretical and experimental data yields a bulk modulus of 185 GPa, significantly higher than a value which had been reported earlier. In comparison to earlier work, the current study provides more reliable data due to the use of neon as a pressure medium, which provides a more hydrostatic pressure than the aluminum, which had been employed as a pressure medium in the earlier studies. An analysis of the compressibility of Al2B2O7 pyrochlores shows an approximately linear dependence of the bulk modulus on the unit cell volume.
