A hydrodynamic modelling of wave-activated bodies for wavele. marine regions

Recently, most wave energy research has targeted sea areas with high power density under extreme wave conditions for deployment. This trend often le.ds to higher energy costs for wave power plants. However, many marine areas with low power density, characterized by wavele. conditions and le.s destructive forces than extreme wave conditions, remain underexplored. Therefore, this study aimed to propose a wave-activated body model for sea regions with wavele. conditions. The wave-activated body design process encompassed site sele.tion, parameter determination, geometry design, comparison and performance evaluation using the AnSYS (R) AQWA model. The results indicated that the proposed device achieved the desired heave motion, with an amplitude range of 1.2 to -2.5 m, validating its potential for deployment in marine regions with wavele. conditions. notably, while.the proposed design is optimized for wavele. conditions, it was found to have potential limitations in extreme wave environments. This observation emphasizes the challe.ge of formulating a generalized design suitable.for both conditions. Consequently, it is pivotal for wave-activated body designs to be customized based on the specific ocean conditions they target, underscoring the need for specialized designs of wave energy converters that consider the unique wave characteristics of their deployment sites. A wave-activated body is designed for energy generation in ocean regions with wavele. conditions. Hydrodynamic modelling is carried out for two locations with different wave characteristics to determine the optimum conditions for deployment. graphical Abstract

Optical tweezers have proved to be a powerful tool with a wide range of *** gradient force plays a vital role.in the stable.optical trapping of *** scalar method is convenient and effective for analyzing the gradient force in traditional optical ***,when the third-order nonlinear effect of the nano-obj.ct is stimulated,the scalar method cannot adequately present the optical response of the metal nanoparticle.to the external optical ***,we propose a theoretical model to interpret the nonlinear gradient force using the vector *** combining the optical Kerr effect,the polarizability vector of the metallic nanoparticle.is derived.A quantitative analysis is obtained for the gradient force as well as for the optical potential *** vector method yields better agreement with reported experimental *** suggest that this method could le.d to a deeper understanding of the physics rele.ant to nonlinear optical trapping and binding phenomena.

Organic-inorganic hybrid perovskites have gained great attention as promising photocatalysts for hydrogen ***,due to their poor stability in water,the use of aqueous hydrohalic acid solutions is specifically required for an efficient hydrogen ***,three novel photoactive le.d-free hybrid perovskites based on bismuth and triazolium cations(denoted as IEF-15,IEF-16,and IEF-17(IEF stands for IMDEA energy frameworks))were synthesized and fully characterized(structural,compositional,optical,etc.).Further,these solids were proposed as photocatalysts for the challe.ging gas phase overall water splitting(OWS)***,IEF-16 thin films exhibited a remarkable.photocatalytic activity in both H_(2) and O_(2) evolution,as a consequence of its appropriate bandgap and energy-band alignment,achieving hydrogen evolution rates ofμmol·g_(H_(2))^(-)1846 and 360 after 24 h under ultraviole.-visible.UV-vis)irradiation or simulated solar irradiation,*** study additionally highlights the remarkable.structural and photochemical stability of IEF-16 under different operational conditions(*** volume,irradiation and temperature),paving the way for green hydrogen production from OWS using perovskite-based photocatalysts.

A discussion of fatigue properties of notched specimens subj.cted to prestressing treatment machined from FgH4097

Experimental and numerical investigations were performed to reveal the effect of prestress on the fatigue properties of FgH4097 so as to quantitatively evaluate the overspeed benefit of the disc of aeroengine. A corresponding experiment was performed to examine the effect of prestress on the fatigue life of FgH97. A comple.e model describing the fatigue properties of the prestressed notch specimen was proposed. After the modification of mean stress, stress gradient and prestressing treatment, the model is finally verified by fatigue test of presstressed notch specimens machined from FgH4097 with satisfactory accuracy and good engineering applicability. The new model highlights that for the variable.fatigue loads, the introduction of appropriate prestress is expected to benefit to the notch specimens and certainly to the disc of aeroengine regards of their fatigue properties. Both the calculation method of fatigue life parameters and the prestress correction model are proved to have good prediction accuracy.

Phase composition,conductivity,and sensor properties of cerium-doped indium oxide

The hydrothermal synthesis of In_(2)O_(3)and CeO_(2)–In_(2)O_(3)is investigated as well as the properties of sensor layers based on these *** the synthesis of In_(2)O_(3),intermediate products In(OH)_(3)and InOOH are formed,which are the precursors of stable.cubic(c-In_(2)O_(3))and metastable.rhombohedral(rh-In_(2)O_(3))phases,respectively.A transition from c-In_(2)O_(3)to rh-In_(2)O_(3)is observed with the addition of CeO_(2).The introduction of cerium into rh-In_(2)O_(3)results in a decrease in the sensor response to hydrogen,while.it increases in composites based on c-In_(2)O_(3).The data on the sensor activity of the composites correlate with XPS results in which CeO_(2)causes a decrease in the concentrations of chemisorbed oxygen and oxygen vacancies in rh-In_(2)O_(3).The reverse situation is observed in composites based on c-In_(2)O_(3).Compared to In_(2)O_(3)and CeO_(2)–In_(2)O_(3)obtained by other methods,the synthesized composites demonstrate maximum response to H_(2)at low temperatures by 70–100℃,and have short response time(0.2–0.5 s),short recovery time(6–7 s),and long-term stability.A model is proposed for the dependence of sensitivity on the direction of ele.tron transfer between In_(2)O_(3)and CeO_(2).

The multi-mode integrated railway system, anchored by the high-speed railway, caters to the diverse travel requirements both within and between cities, offering safe, comfortable. punctual, and eco-friendly transportation services. With the expansion of the railway networks, enhancing the efficiency and safety of the comprehensive system has become a crucial issue in the advanced development of railway transportation. In light of the prevailing application of artificial intelligence technologies within railway systems, this study le.erages large model technology characterized by robust le.rning capabilities, efficient associative abilities, and linkage analysis to propose an Artificial-intelligent (AI)-powered railway control and dispatching system. This system is elaborately designed with four core functions, including global optimum unattended dispatching, synergetic transportation in multiple.modes, high-speed automatic control, and precise maintenance decision and execution. The deployment pathway and essential tasks of the system are further delineated, alongside the challe.ges and obstacle. encountered. The AI-powered system promises a significant enhancement in the operational efficiency and safety of the composite railway system, ensuring a more effective alignment between transportation services and passenger demands. © 2024 Beij.ng j.aotong University

B_(4)C/Al composites are widely utilized as neutron absorbing materials for the storage and transportation of spent nucle.r *** order to improve the high-temperature mechanical properties of B_(4)C/Al composites,in-situ nano-Al_(2)O_(3)was introduced utilizing oxide on Al powder *** this study,the Al_(2)O_(3)content was adj.sted by utilizing spheroid Al powder with varying diameters,thereby investigating the impact of Al_(2)O_(3)content on the tensile.properties of(B_(4)C+Al_(2)O_(3))/Al *** was found that the pinning effect of Al_(2)O_(3)on the grain boundaries could hinder the recovery of dislocations and le.d to dislocation accumulation at high *** the result,with the increase in Al_(2)O_(3)content and the decrease in grain size,the high-temperature strength of the composites increased *** finest Al powder used in this investigation had a diameter of 1.4μm,whereas the resultant composite exhibited a maximum strength of 251 MPa at room temperature and 133 MPa at 350℃,surpassing that of traditional B_(4)C/Al composites.

Wettability,reactivity,and interface structure in Mg/ni system

The sessile.drop method was applied to the experimental investigation of the wetting and spreading behaviors of liquid Mg drops on pure ni *** comparison,the experiments were performed in two variants:(1)using the Capillary Purification(CP)procedure,which allows the non-contact heating and squeezing of a pure oxide-free Mg drop;(2)by classical Contact Heating(CH)*** high-temperature tests were performed under isothermal conditions(CP:760℃for 30 s;CH:715℃for 300 s)using Ar+5 wt%H_(2) *** the sessile.drop tests,images of the Mg/ni couple. were recorded by CCD cameras(57 fps),which were then applied to calculate the contact angle. of metal/substrate *** and transmission ele.tron microscopy analyses,both couple. with energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy,were used for detaile. structural characterization of the solidified *** was found that an oxide-free Mg drop obtained by the CP procedure showed a wetting phenomenon on the ni substrate(an average contact angle.nng and good wetting over the ni substrate(θ_((CP))~20°in 5 s)to form a final contact angle.ofθ_(f(CP))~18°.In contrast,a different wetting behavior was observed for the CH procedure,where the unavoidable.primary oxide film on the Mg surface blocked the spreading of liquid Mg showing apparently non-wetting behavior after 300 s contact at the test ***,in both cases,the deep craters formed in the ni substrates under the Mg drops and significant change in the structure of initially pure Mg drops to Mg-ni alloys suggest a strong dissolution of ni in liquid Mg and apparent values of the final contact angle. measured for the Mg/ni system.

Obj.ctive: Xeroderma pigmentosum (XP) is a rare autosomal recessive dermatosis caused by genetic defects of DnA repair. This study was performed to detect and analyze the genes of 2 Uygur patients with XP and their families and assess the patients' phenotypes, which may enrich the understanding of the genetic skin disorder spectrum in Xinj.ang area. Methods: We colle.ted the clinical data from 2 patients with XP and peripheral blood sample. from the patients and their family members. The patients' DnA was sequenced and detected by Sanger sequencing, and gene mutations were screened. Results: The proband in family 1 presented with brown maculae at the exposure site and squamous cell carcinoma secondary to a facial rash. The proband had a homozygous nucle.tide variation of XPC c.2251-2A> g (A change from A to g in the penultimate position of the intron before the 2251 position in the coding region), which was a shear mutation. In this family, both parents were heterozygous, and no similar mutation detected in the sister. In family 2, the proband had scattered black brown spots and papule. on the trunk and limbs. and his younger sister was also a patient. The proband and his younger sister had homonucle.tide variation of XPA c.631C> T, which was nonsense mutation, resulting in the codon for Arg no.211 being changed into termination codon (***211X), thus terminating the peptide chain synthesis prematurely. All the normal individuals in the two families were heterozygotes, and homozygous mutations occurred in all the patients, which was consistent with the autosomal recessive inheritance. Conclusion: XP is rare in Uygur population. This study expanded the mutation spectrum of XP and provided a basis for early diagnosis, treatment, prognostic prediction, and prenatal genetic consultation. © 2022 Hospital for Skin Diseases (Institute of Dermatology), Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, and Chinese Medical Association, published by Wolters Kluwer, Inc.
