Ambrosia artemisiifolia L. (common ragweed) is an annual ruderal plant that is native to Northern America but nowadays is also spreading across Europe, and its pollen is known to be highly allergenic. Air pollution, e.g. NOx and climate change may affect the plant growth, pollen production and duration of the entire pollen season. In this study, ragweed plants were grown over an entire vegetation period under 40 ppb NO2/clean air (control) and 80 ppb NO2 (treatment). The inflorescence length was not affected by this air pollutant. However, the pollen amount increased, while the seed production decreased in both populations upon elevated NO2 concentrations. Regarding phenolic metabolites elevated NO2 had no effect on the amount of total phenolic metabolites, while individual metabolites showed significant changes.

This research aims to develop reliable models using machine learning algorithms to precisely predict Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) in wells of the Permian basin, winkler County, Texas. The data for this contribution was obtained from the Texas Water Development Board website (TWDB). Five hundred and ninety-three samples were obtained from two hundred and ninety-eight wells in the study area. The wells were drilled at different county locations into five aquifers, including Pecos Valley, Dockum, Capitan Reef, Edward Trinity, and Rustler aquifers. A total of fourteen different water quality parameters were used, and they include Potential hydrogen (pH), Sodium, Chloride, Magnesium, Fluoride, TDS, Specific Conductance, Nitrate, Total Hardness, Calcium, Temperature, Well Depth, Sulphate, and Bicarbonates. Four machine learning regression algorithms were developed to get a good model to help predict TDS in this area: Decision Tree regression, Linear regression, Support Vector Regression, and K-nearest neighbor. The study showed that the Decision Tree produced the best model with attributes like the coefficient of determination R2 = 1.00 and 0.96 for the training and testing, respectively. It also produced the lowest score of mean absolute error MAE = 0.00 and 0.04 for training and testing, respectively. This study will reduce the cost of obtaining different water quality parameters in TDS determination by leveraging machine learning to use only the parameters contributing to TDS, thereby helping researchers obtain only the parameters necessary for TDS prediction. It will also help the authorities enact policies that will improve the water quality in areas where drinking water availability is a challenge by providing important information for monitoring and assessing groundwater quality.

The effect of age-hardening on microstructure,hardness,and corrosion of an Al-5at.%V alloy,produced us-ing high-energy ball milling and subsequent cold compaction,has been *** alloy exhibited a grain size below 100 nm and extremely high solid solubility of V in Al(3.1 at.%).The age-hardening was carried out at 150,200,and 250℃.The peak-aged condition of 150℃ demonstrated the highest hardness-transpired from grain refinement,precipitation,and solid solution *** corrosion re-sistance of the Al-5at.%V alloy was studied as a function of aging *** peak-aged condition retained the corrosion resistance while it deteriorated in the over-aged ***,the cor-rosion resistance of the ball-milled Al alloys in all the aging conditions was superior to that of pure *** passive film structure and origin of corrosion were studied using scanning/transmission electron mi-croscopy(S/TEM).The high corrosion resistance of the alloy was attributed to the V enrichment at the film/metal interface and deposition of V on the cathodic phases,which suppresses the dissolution of Al within the pit and therefore promotes repassivation in the early stages of corrosion.

Parkinson＇s disease （PD） is a slowly progressing neuro- degenerative disorder clinically defined by key symptoms like bradykinesia, rigidity, resting tremor, and postural instability. Reduction of dopaminergic terminals in the caudate nucleus and putamen, i.e., the striatum, accom- panied by decreased striatal levels of dopamine, and most likely consecutive degeneration of dopaminergic neurons in the substantia nigra pars compacta （SNpc） are tightly linked to the onset of the motor symptoms. With the etiology of PD largely not yet well defined, there is accu- mulating evidence for increased immune activation in PD. The maj.rity of studies favor a detrimental effect of microglia, the resident innate immune cells of the brain, on PD pathogenesis. In the presence of alpha-synuclein, inflammatory responses elicited by microglia may be initiated by pattern recognition receptors, e.g.,

This paper presents the algebro-geometric method for computing explicit formula solutions for algebraic differential equations(ADEs). An algebraic differential equation is a polynomial relation between a function, some of its partial derivatives, and the variables in which the function is de?*** all these quantities as unrelated variables, the polynomial relation leads to an algebraic relation de?ning a hypersurface on which the solution is to be found. A solution in a certain class of functions, such as rational or algebraic functions, determines a parametrization of the hypersurface in this class. So in the algebro-geometric method the author ?rst decides whether a given ADE can be parametrized with functions from a given class; and in the second step the author tries to transform a parametrization into one respecting also the differential conditions. This approach is relatively well understood for rational and algebraic solutions of single algebraic ordinary differential equations(AODEs). First steps are taken in a generalization to systems and to partial differential equations.

This paper deals with the Neumann initial-boundary value problem for a classical chemotaxis system with signal consumption in a *** contrast to previous studies which have established a comprehensive theory of global classical solutions for suitably regular nonnegative initial data,the focus in the present work is on the question to which extent initially prescribed singularities can be regularized despite the presence of the nonlinear cross-diffusive *** main result in this paper asserts that at least in the framework of radial solutions immediate regularization occurs under an essentially optimal condition on the initial distribution of the population *** precisely,it will turn out that for any radially symmetric initial data belonging to the space of regular signed Borel measures for the population density and to L^(2) for the signal density,there exists a classical solution to the Neumann initial-boundary value problem,which is smooth and approaches the given initial data in an appropriate trace sense.
