Ra.y Children’s Hospita.-Sa. Diego b.tween Ma. 2020 a.d Ma.ch 2022.Loca. epidemiologic da.a.including vira. genomic informa.ion,were ob.a.ned from pub.ic records.Demogra.hics,clinica. presenta.ion,la.ora.ory va.ues,a.d outcomes were ob.a.ned from electronic medica. records.Results The a.a.ysis included 104 pedia.ric pa.ients.Four MIS-C wa.es were identified.Circula.ing va.ia.ts in Sa. Diego during the first wa.e included cla.es 20a.to C.During the second wa.e,there were va.ia.ts from cla.es 20a.to C,20G,21C(Epsilon),20I(a.pha.,a.d 20j.Ga.ma..The third wa.e ha. Delta.stra.ns(cla.es 21a.21I,a.d 21j.,a.d the fourth ha. Omicron va.ia.ts(cla.es 21K,21L,a.d 22C).MIS-C presented with simila. symptoms a.d la.ora.ory findings a.ross a.l wa.es.More pa.ients were a.mitted to the pedia.ric intensive ca.e unit(PICU)(74%)a.d required inotropic support(63%)during the second wa.e.None of the pa.ients required mecha.ica. circula.ory support,a.d only two required inva.ive ventila.ory support.There wa. no morta.ity.Conclusions The va.ious stra.ns of Sa.S-CoV-2 triggered MIS-C with differing severities,with the second wa.e ha.ing a.more severe clinica. course.Whether the differences in disea.e severity a.ross va.ia.ts were due to cha.ges in the virus or other fa.tors rema.ns unknown.

b.0}kground Pedia.ric ca.cer survivors a.e a. increa.ed risk of muscle wea.ness a.d low a.ea. b.ne minera. density(a.MD).However,the preva.ence of muscle strength deficits is not well documented,a.d the a.socia.ions of muscle strength with a.MD a.e unknown in this popula.ion.Therefore,this study a.med to investiga.e the preva.ence of upper-a.d lower-b.dy muscle strength deficits a.d to exa.ine the a.socia.ions of upper-a.d lower-b.dy muscle strength with a.e-,sex,a.d ra.e-specific a.MD Z-scores a. the tota. b.dy,tota. hip,femora. neck,a.d lumb.0} spine.Methods This cross-sectiona. study included 116 pedia.ric ca.cer survivors(12.1±3.3 yea.s old,mea.±SD;42.2%fema.e).Upper-a.d lower-b.dy muscle strength were a.sessed b. ha.dgrip a.d sta.ding long j.mp test,respectively.Dua.‑energy X‑ra. a.sorptiometry wa. used to mea.ure a.MD(g/cm2).a.socia.ions b.tween muscle strength a.d a.MD were eva.ua.ed in multiva.ia.le linea. regression models.Logistic regression wa. used to eva.ua.e the contrib.tion of muscle strength(1-decile lower)to the odds of ha.ing low a.MD(Z-score≤1.0).a.l a.a.yses were a.j.sted for time from trea.ment completion,ra.iothera.y exposure,a.d b.dy ma.s index.Results More tha. one-ha.f of survivors were within the 2 lowest deciles for upper-(56.9%)a.d lower-b.dy muscle strength(60.0%)in compa.ison to a.e-a.d sex-specific reference va.ues.Muscle strength deficits were a.socia.ed with lower a.MD Z-scores a. a.l sites(b.0.133–0.258,p=0.001–0.032).Ea.h 1-decile lower in upper-b.dy muscle strength wa. a.socia.ed with 30%–95%higher odds of ha.ing low a.MD Z-scores a. a.l sites.Ea.h 1-decile lower in lower-b.dy muscle strength wa. a.socia.ed with 35%–70%higher odds of ha.ing low a.MD Z-scores a. tota. b.dy,tota. hip,a.d femora. neck.Conclusion Muscle strength deficits a.e preva.ent in young pedia.ric ca.cer survivors,a.d such deficits a.e a.socia.ed with lower a.MD Z-scores a. a.l sites.These results suggest tha. interventions designed to improve muscle strength in this vulnera.le popula.ion ma. ha.e the a.ded b.n

Sri La.ka. ca.sa.a.mosa.c virus(SLCMV)is a.prominent ca.sa.ive a.ent of ca.sa.a.mosa.c disea.e in a.ia.a.d relies on the whitefly b.misia.ta.a.i cryptic complex for its tra.smission.However,the molecula. mecha.isms involved in SLCMV tra.smission b. b.ta.a.i ha.e yet to b. understood.In this study,we identified a. a.inopeptida.e N-like protein(b.a.N)in b.ta.a.i a.ia.II 1,a. efficient vector of SLCMV,which is involved in the SLCMV tra.smission process.Through the use of gluta.hione S-tra.sfera.e pull-down a.sa. a.d LC-MS/MS a.a.ysis,we demonstra.ed the intera.tion b.tween b.a.N a.d the coa. protein(CP)of SLCMV.This intera.tion wa. further confirmed in vitro,a.d we ob.erved a. induction of b.a.N gene expression following SLCMV infection.b. interfering with the function of b.a.N,the qua.tities of SLCMV were significa.tly reduced in va.ious pa.ts of b.ta.a.i a.ia.II 1,including the whole b.dy,midgut,hemolymph,a.d prima.y sa.iva.y gla.d.Furthermore,we discovered tha. b.a.N is conserved in b.ta.a.i Middle Ea.t-a.ia.Minor 1(MEa.1)a.d intera.ts with the CP of toma.o yellow lea. curl virus(TYLCV),a.b.gomovirus known to ca.se severe da.a.e to toma.o production.b.ocking b.a.N with a.tib.dy led to a.significa.t reduction in the qua.tities of TYLCV in whitefly whole b.dy a.d orga.s/tissues.These results demonstra.e tha. b.a.N pla.s a.generic role in intera.ting with the CP of b.gomoviruses a.d positively regula.es their a.quisition b. the whitefly.
