The Rosaceae family has striking phenotypic diversity and high syntenic *** trifoliata is sister species to the Maleae tribe of apple and~1000 other *** has many putative ancestral features,such as herb/sub-shrub habit,dry fruit-bearing and nine base *** coalescence of ancestral characters in a phylogenetically important species,positions Gillenia as a‘rosetta stone'for translational science within *** present genomic and phenological resources to facilitate the use of Gillenia for this *** Gillenia genome is the fi rst fully annotated chromosome-level assembly with an ancestral genome complement(x=9),and with it we developed an improved model of the Rosaceae ancestral *** and NAC gene family analyses revealed genome dynamics correlated with growth and reproduction and we demonstrate how Gillenia can be a negative control for studying fl eshy fruit development in Rosaceae.

In this work it is assessed the potential of combining conventional and incremental sheet forming processes in a same sheet of *** so-called hybrid forming approach is performed through the manufacture of a pre-forming by conventional forming,followed by incremental sheet *** main obj.ctive is analyzing strain *** pre-forming induced in the conventional forming stage will determine the strain paths,directly influencing the strains produced by the incremental *** conduct the study,in the conventional processes,strains were imposed in three different ways with distinct true *** the incremental stage,the pyramid strategy was adopted with different wall *** the experiments,the true strains and the final geometries were *** simulation was also employed for the sake of comparison and correlation with the measured *** could be observed that single-stretch pre-strain was directly proportional to the maximum incremental strains achieved,whereas samples subj.cted to biaxial pre-strain influenced the formability according to the degree of pre-strain ***-strain driven by the prior deep-drawing operation did not result,in this particular geometry,in increased formability.

Hepatocellular carcinoma （HCC） recurs with a reported frequency of 12%-18% after liver transplantation. Recurrence is associated with a mortality rate exceeding 75%. Approximately one-third of recurrences develop in the transplanted liver and are therefore amenable to local therapy. A variety of treatment modalities have been reported including resection, transarterial chemoembolization （TACE）, radiofrequency ablation （RFA）, ethanol ablation, cryoablation, and external beam irradiation. Goals of treatment are tumor control and the minimization of toxic effect to functional parenchyma. Efficacy of treatment is mitigated by the need for ongoing immunosuppression. Yttrium-90 microspheres have been used as a treatment modality both for primary HCC and for pre-transplant management of HCC with promising results. Twenty-two months after liver transplantation for hepatitis C cirrhosis complicated by HCC, a 42-year old man developed recurrence of HCC in his transplant allograft. Treatment of multiple right lobe lesions with anatomic resection and adj.vant chemotherapy was unsuccessful. Multifocal recurrence in the remaining liver allograft was treated with hepatic intra-arterial infusion of yttrium-90 microspheres （SIR-Spheres, Sirtex Medical Inc., Lake Forest, IL, USA）. Efficacy was demonstrated by tumor necrosis on imaging and a decrease in alpha-fetoprotein （AFP） level. There were no adverse consequences of initial treatment.

Seedless fruits have high consumer appeal and have made seeded varieties obsolete in some *** seedless apple varieties,core tissues which normally contain the seed can be unpalatable,reducing the seedless *** are accessory fruit with edible flesh derived from hypanthial tissue–a floral tube fused to a compound *** we show that through suppression of AGAMOUS-like carpel identity genes and hormone induced fruit set,it is possible to generate coreless and therefore seedless *** of AGAMOUS-like genes increased petal whorls and fully eliminated carpel *** with a combination of gibberellin,cytokinin and auxin,rather than single treatments,were required for fruit initiation in these *** analysis of agamous RNAi lines suggested conservation of AGAMOUS-dependent gene networks between apple and *** the absence of all sexual tissues,the developing fruit continues to grow and follow a ripening process similar to that of a regular *** coreless phenotype offers a new concept for pipfruit consumers improving convenience and reducing food waste.

For any given genotype,the environment in which an apple is grown can influence the properties of the fruit *** there has been extensive research on the mechanism of the genetic control of fruit quality traits,less effort has been made to investigate the way that these genetic mechanisms interact with the *** address this issue,we employed a large‘Royal Gala’×‘Braeburn’population of 572 seedlings replicated over sites in three climatically diverse apple-growing regions in New *** for traits including fruit maturation timing,firmness and dry matter content was performed at each of these three sites for a single growing season(2011),and at two sites(Motueka and Hawke’s Bay)for two seasons(2009 and 2010).The phenotype data collected over 2 years at two sites enabled the detection of 190 quantitative trait loci(QTL)that controlled these traits regardless of year or growing location,as well as some chromosomal loci that influenced the traits in a single given environment or *** those loci that were environmentally stable over three sites,there was an interdependency of fruit maturation date,dry matter content and storage potential within this population,with two regions on Linkage Groups(LGs)10 and 16 strongly *** these loci were used in a marker-assisted selection programme to select for progeny bearing firmer fruit,this would have the unintentional consequence of selecting,high dry matter content,later maturing *** addition,a further 113 new QTLs with a smaller effect were identified,some of which were exhibited only in a single growing environment,demonstrating the underlying complexity of control of traits determining fruit quality,in addition to the need for being aware of environmental effects when developing new apple varieties.

The identification of j.ts originating from quarks and gluons,often referred to as quark/gluon tagging,plays an important role in various analyses performed at the Large Hadron Collider,as Standard Model measurements and searches for new particles decaying to quarks often rely on suppressing a large gluon-induced *** paper describes the measurement of the efficiencies of quark/gluon taggers developed within the ATLAS Collaboration,using √s=13 TeV proton–proton collision data with an integrated luminosity of 140 fb^(-1) collected by the ATLAS *** taggers with high performances in rej.cting j.ts from gluon over j.ts from quarks are studied:one tagger is based on requirements on the number of inner-detector tracks associated with the j.t,and the other combines several j.t substructure observables using a boosted decision tree.A method is established to determine the quark/gluon fraction in data,by using quark/gluon-enriched subsamples defined by the j.t *** in tagging efficiency between data and simulation are provided for j.ts with transverse momentum between 500 GeV and 2 TeV and for multiple tagger working points.
