treatability of synthetic sago wastewater was investigated in a laboratory anaerobic tapered fluidized bed reactor （ATFBR） with a mesoporous granular activated carbon （GAC） as a support material. The experimental protocol was defined to examine the effect of the maximum organic loading rate （OLR）, hydraulic retention time （HRT）, the efficiency of the reactor and to report on its steady- state performance. The reactor was subjected to a steady-state operation over a range of OLR up to 85.44 kg COD/（m^3·d）. The COD removal efficiency was found to be 92% in the reactor while the biogas produced in the digester reached 25.38 m^3/（m^3·d） of the reactor. With the increase of OLR from 83.7 kg COD/（m^3·d）, the COD removal efficiency decreased. Also an artificial neural network （ANN） model using multilayer perceptron （MLP） has been developed for a system of two input variable and five output dependent variables. For the training of the input-output data, the experimental values obtained have been used. The output parameters predicted have been found to be much closer to the corresponding experimental ones and the model was validated for 30% of the untrained data. The mean square error （MSE） was found to be only 0.0146.

Building processing,structure,and property(PSP)relations for computational materials design is at the heart of the Materials Genome Initiative in the era of high-throughput computational materials *** technological advancements in data acquisition and storage,microstructure characterization and reconstruction(MCR),machine learning(ML),materials modeling and simulation,data processing,manufacturing,and experimentation have significantly advanced researchers’abilities in building PSP relations and inverse material *** this article,we examine these advancements from the perspective of design *** particular,we introduce a data-centric approach whose fundamental aspects fall into three categories:design representation,design evaluation,and design *** in each of these aspects are guided by and benefit from domain ***,for each aspect,we present a wide range of computational methods whose integration realizes data-centric materials discovery and design.

Evidences for Incipient Hydrothermal Event(s) in the Central Indian Basin: A Review

The Central Indian Basin (CIB, 10°-19°S) encompasses morphotectonic features such as seamounts, abyssal hills, faults, fracture zones and lineations and basic to silicic volcanics that were derived from different sources. Instances of incipient hydrothermal event (s) occurred as evident from: (1) spilites that probably formed due to low-temperature hydrothermal action on the precursory basalts, (2) slabs and fragments of zeolitites which are the consequent products of palagonitization of the basaltic glasses, (3) chemical variations in the ferromanganese crusts, and (4) abundance of volcanogenic-hydrothermal material (vhm) that includes ochrous sediments and magnetite spherules. The vhm suggests its origin by interaction of Fe-rich hydrothermal solutions with surrounding sediments. The CIB spherules occur in sediments of~10 ka and ~425 to 650 ka age and are orders of magnitude younger than the 50 to 60 Ma age of the basin. Incidentally, to the north of the basin at ODP Site 717-719(1 °S/81 °E) hydrothermal precipitates of inorganic calcite and deposition of sulphide minerals (~7.5 to 9 Ma and 0.5 Ma) occur as a result of the on-going intraplate deformation. This paper reviews the above evidences that possibly indicate episodes of localized hydrothermal events in the CIB.

Petrological Characteristics and Genesis of the Central Indian Ocean Basin Basalts

The Central Indian Ocean Basin （CIOB） basalts are plagioclase-rich, while olivine and pyroxene are very few. The analyses of 41 samples reveal high FeOT （～10-18 wt%） and TiO 2 （～1.4-2.7 wt%） indicating a ferrobasaltic composition. The basalts have high incompatible elements （Zr 63-228 ppm; Nb ～1-5 ppm; Ba ～15-78 ppm; La ～3-16 ppm）, a similar U/Pb （0.02-0.4） ratio as the normal midoceanic basalt （0.16±0.07） but the Ba/Nb （12.5-53） ratio is much larger than that of the normal midoceanic ridge basalt （～5.7） and Primitive Mantle （9.56）. Interestingly almost all of the basalts have a significant negative Eu anomaly （Eu/Eu＊=0.78-1.00） that may have been a result of the removal of feldspar and pyroxene during crystal fractionation. These compositional variations suggest that the basalts were derived through fractional crystallization together with low partial melting of a shallow seated magma.

We present data pertaining to mineral assemblages and composition of the Central Indian Ocean Basin(CIOB)*** groups of pumices were identified considering the presence of phenocrysts of plagioclase,clinopyroxene,orthopyroxene,hornblende and biotite together with the occurrence of quartz and ***,fayalite and ulvospinelare reported for the first time from these *** the eight groups,the modal percentage of the constituents are phenocrysts 3%to 19%(avg 9.6%),silicic glass 33%to 54%(avg 43%)and the rest is *** on the above factors we have identified the possible sources of the CIOB *** mineral compositions of plagioclase,pyroxenes,and biotite of the CIOB pumices were compared with those of Krakatau and *** of the plagioclase and pyroxene compositions resemble the Haranggoal Dacite Tuff of Toba and *** the mineral assemblages and compositions,there are pumices which do not correlate to any of the above eruptions and are probably from yet unidentified source/*** sources could either be from nearby terrestrial volcanoes or intraplate seamounts present in the *** a global context,it is viable that petrological characteristics could be used as initial criteria to determine the source of pumices that occur at abyssal depths in the world ocean.

Endoscopic eradication therapy(EET)has become a standard of care for treatment of dysplastic Barrett’s esophagus(BE)and early Barrett’s *** mainly consists of removal of any visible lesions via endoscopic resection and eradication of all remaining Barrett’s mucosa using endoscopic *** mucosal resection and endoscopic submucosal dissection are the two available resection *** complete resection of all visible lesions,it is crucial to perform endoscopic ablation to ensure complete eradication of the remaining Barrett’s *** ablation can be done either with thermal techniques,including radiofrequency ablation and argon plasma coagulation,or cryotherapy *** primary end point of EET is achieving complete remission of intestinal metaplasia(CRIM)to decrease the risk of dysplastic recurrence after successful *** CRIM is achieved,a standardized endoscopic surveillance protocol needs to be implemented for early detection of BE recurrence.

Background:Prematurity is the biggest contributor to admissions in the neonatal intensive care unit(NICU).The period following hospital discharge is a vital continuum for the very low birth weight(VLBW)infant The objective of this study was to assess the impact of a unique discharge and follow-up process on the outcomes of VLBW infants leaving the ***:All outpatient health care usage by VLBW infants born in the study year(cases)was retrospectively tracked through 12 months of age.A cohort of healthy newborn infants were matched by birthdate to each VLBW infant(controls)and similarly ***:In this study,there were 85 cases and 85 *** mean gestational age at birth for the cases was 29.1±2.7 weeks with a mean birth weight of 1079±263 *** of the controls was 38.9±13 weeks and 3202±447 *** 90%of both populations had Medicaid *** VLBW infants received care at the Special Care Developmental Follow-Up *** compared with the controls,VLBW infants discharged from the NICU made fewer acute,unscheduled visits to the Emergency Department or Urgent Care Clinic(2.3±2.5 vs.3.7±3.5;P=0.007)despite their high-risk medical and social *** growth pattern showed significant"catch-up"and was similar to the matched controls at the last scheduled visit for each ***:Outcomes including health care utilization in high-risk infants can be improved through meticulous discharge planning and follow-up measures that utilize existing hospital infrastructure to provide affordable comprehensive care.
