The aim of this research study is to present a method for analyzing the performance of the wireless inductive charge-while-driving(CWD)electric vehicles,from both traffic and energy points of *** accurately quantify the electric power required from an energy supplier for the proper management of the charging system,a traffic simulation model is *** model is based on a mesoscopic approach,and it is applied to a freight distribution *** changing and positioning are managed according to a cooperative system among vehicles and supported by advanced driver assistance systems(ADAS).From the energy point of view,the analyses indicate that the traffic may have the following effects on the energy of the system:in a low traffic level scenario,the maximum power that should be supplied for the entire road is simulated at approximately 9 MW;and in a high level traffic scenario with lower average speeds,the maximum power required by the vehicles in the charging lane increases by more than 50%.

Endogenous neurogenesis can arise from a variety of physiological stimuli including exercise, learning, or ＂enriched environment＂ as well as pathological conditions such as ischemia, epilepsy or cortical spreading depression. Whether all these conditions use a common trigger to set off endogenous neurogenesis is yet unclear. We hypothesized that cortical spreading depression（CSD） induces neurogenesis in the cerebral cortex and dentate gyrus after cerebral venous ischemia. Forty-two Wistar rats alternatively underwent sham operation（Sham）, induction of ten CSDs or venous ischemia provoked via occlusion of two adjacent superficial cortical vein followed by ten induced CSDs（CSD ＋ 2-VO）. As an additional control, 15 na？ve rats received no intervention except 5-bromo-2′-deoxyuridine（Brd U） treatment for 7 days. Sagittal brain slices（40 μm thick） were co-stained for Brd U and doublecortin（DCX; new immature neuronal cells） on day 9 or Neu N（new mature neuronal cells） on day 28. On day 9 after sham operation, cell proliferation and neurogenesis occurred in the cortex in rats. The sole induction of CSD had no effect. But on days 9 and 28, more proliferating cells and newly formed neurons in the ipsilateral cortex were observed in rats subjected to CSD ＋ 2VO than in rats subjected to sham operation. On days 9 and 28, cell proliferation and neurogenesis in the ipsilateral dentate gyrus was increased in sham-operated rats than in na？ve rats. Our data supports the hypothesis that induced cortical neurogenesis after CSD ＋ 2-VO is a direct effect of ischemia, rather than of CSD alone.

Despite the enormous success and popularity of density-functional theory,systematic verification and validation studies are still limited in number and ***,we propose a protocol to test publicly available pseudopotential libraries,based on several independent criteria including verification against all-electron equations of state and plane-wave convergence tests for phonon frequencies,band structure,cohesive energy and *** these criteria we obtain curated pseudopotential libraries(named SSSP or standard solid-state pseudopotential libraries),that we target for high-throughput materials screening(“SSSP efficiency”)and high-precision materials modelling(“SSSP precision”).This latter scores highest among open-source pseudopotential libraries available in theΔ-factor test of equations of states of elemental solids.

Short-medium span steeleconcrete composite I-girder bridges are becoming more and more popular, because of the reduced construction time and costs. The light weight renders them particularly suitable also is seismic areas, even though this advantage has not been yet adequately investigated. In fact, in case of seismic loading, significant tensile forces might be exhibited at the bottom flange of the steel girder, especially when monolithic connection between deck and pier is adopted, and the connection, conceived for sustaining prevailing hogging bending moments, could experience an excessive *** this aim, the cyclic behaviour of new pier-to-deck joints involving the use of concrete cross-beams(CCB) has been recently analysed within the European project(SEQBRI). This paper deals with the results of a wide experimental investigation of these new joints,performed with the aim of characterizing their hysteretic behaviour. Three different typologies were tested: one designed according to the German standard DIN-FB-104, generally utilized for gravity loads only, and other two types proposed for bridges located in low(VAR-1) and medium(VAR-2) seismicity. A series of displacement-imposed cyclic tests highlighted a good seismic behaviour of all the tested solutions. In particular, the DIN-FB-104 VAR C and VAR-2 displayed a similar global behaviour in terms of maximum force and displacement, but with a more pronounced crack development and buckling of steel girders of the first solution. The VAR-2 also avoids possible pull-out phenomena in the CCB thanks to the beneficial action of pre-stressing bars.A damage analysis of the proposed connections was finally performed in view of the application of the performance-based earthquake engineering methodology and the quantification the seismic performance of this bridge typology, which was among the aims of SEQBRI project.

Results of analytical surveys on pesticide residue levels in foods for the years 1986-1987 are presented. Analytical data obtained from regional laboratories are tabulated in terms of various commodity groups (vegetables, fruit, cereals, processed or derived foodstuffs, other commodities, legumes, environmental samples, others) and are compared with maximum legal tolerances established by the ministerial ordinance (Italian Ministry of Health) 6.6. 1985.On a total number of 4715 determinations of classes of compounds or of single compounds made on 1601 commodities samples, only N 53 (1.1 %) violative results appeared. No residue was found at levels exceeding regulatory limits or found in commodities where a tolerance had not been established for a specific pesticide/commodity combination.

The thermonuclear^19F（p,α0）16O reaction rate in the temperature region 0.007–10 GK has been derived by re-evaluating the available experimental data, together with the low-energy theoretical R-matrix *** new rate deviates by up to about 30% compared to the previous results, although all rates are consistent within the uncertainties. At very low temperature（e.g. 0.01 GK） our reaction rate is about 20% lower than the most recently published rate, because of a difference in the low energy extrapolated S-factor and a more accurate estimate of the reduced mass used in the calculation of the reaction rate. At temperatures above ^1 GK, our rate is lower, for instance, by about 20% around 1.75 GK, because we have re-evaluated the previous data（Isoya et al., Nucl. Phys.7, 116（1958）） in a meticulous way. The present interpretation is supported by the direct experimental data. The uncertainties of the present evaluated rate are estimated to be about 20% in the temperature region below 0.2 GK,and are mainly caused by the lack of low-energy experimental data and the large uncertainties in the existing *** giant branch（AGB） stars evolve at temperatures below 0.2 GK, where the^19F（p,α）16O reaction may play a very important role. However, the current accuracy of the reaction rate is insufficient to help to describe, in a careful way, the fluorine over-abundances observed in AGB stars. Precise cross section（or S factor） data in the low energy region are therefore needed for astrophysical nucleosynthesis studies.

Levels of organochlorinated, organophosphate, dithiocarbamic, benzimidazolic, and phthalimidic compounds, as well as some other pesticide residues obtained from Regional Laboratories in the years 1983-1985, were assembled and presented as a part of a study aimed at evaluating food contamination. Approximately 2000 samples of vegetables, fruits, cereals, and food of animal origin were analyzed by local laboratories during the years 1983, 1984, and 1985. Samples were randomly obtained from the market, at production levels, or sometimes at custom sites. Approximately 10,000 determinations of single compounds or classes of compounds were carried out. The analytical results are presented and compared with the Italian maximum residue limits. In the majority of the samples analyzed, either there were no residues or the residues were below the permitted level for the specific pesticide in each commodity. High levels of residues were present in a few cases, mainly with respect to some fungicides in fruits and vegetables and chlorinated compounds in some animal products. (c)1989 Academic Press, Inc.
