In this study,the energy-efficient advanced procedure for the production of oil from plum seeds was *** optimization of ultrasound-assisted extraction(UAE)of oil was carried out using the response surface methodology with the Box-Behnken *** microwave pretreatment(MWP)of 460 W for 3 min was also applied to reduce the total extraction *** extraction time(15-45 min),liquid-to-solid ratio(4-10 mL g􀀀1),and extraction temperature(40-60◦c)were defined as the *** oil yield was considered a response in this optimization *** ultrasonic bath of 150 W and 40 kHz was used for the production of cavitation energy during the *** optimal conditions were the extraction time of 42 min,the liquid-to-solid ratio of 10 mL g􀀀1,and the extraction temperature of 50◦*** on quality analysis,it was concluded that the oil obtained by MWP-UAE had adequate physico-chemical *** MWP-UAE was an efficient extraction technique in terms of extraction time and energy consumption.

The photoelectrochemical conversion of cO_(2) into value-added products emerges as an attractive approach to alleviate climate change. One of the main challenges in deploying this technology is, however, the development and optimization of(photo)electrodes and photoelectrolyzers. This review focuses on the fabrication processes, structure, and characterization of(photo)electrodes, covering a wide range of fabrication techniques, from rudimentary to automated fabrication processes. The work also highlights the most relevant features of(photo)electrodes, with special emphasis on how to measure and optimize them. Finally, the review analyses the integration of(photo)electrodes in different photoelectrolyzer architectures, analyzing the most recent research work that comprises photocathode, photoanode,photocathode-photoanode, and tandem photoelectrolyzer configurations to ideally achieve self-sustained cO_(2) conversion systems. Overall, comprehensive guidelines are provided for future advancements in developing effective devices for cO_(2) conversion, bridging the gap towards the use of sunlight as the unique energy input and practical applications.

Plants produce jasmonic acid （JA） and its amino acid conjugate, jasmonoyI-L-isoleucine （JA-Ile） as major defense signals in response to wounding and herbivory. In rice （Oryza sativa）, JA and JA-Ile rapidly increased after mechanical damage, and this increase was further amplified when the wounds were treated with oral secretions from generalist herbivore larvae, lawn armyworms （Spodoptera mauritia）, revealing for the first time active perception mechanisms of herbivore-associated elicitor（s） in rice. In the rice genome, two OsJAR genes can conjugate JA and lie and form JA-Ile in vitro; however, their function in herbivory- induced accumulation of JA-Ile has not been investigated. By functional characterization of TOS17 retrotransposon-tagged Osjarl plants and their response to simulated herbivory, we show that OsJAR1 is essential for JA-Ile production in herbivore-attacked, field-grown plants. In addition, OsJAR1 was required for normal seed development in rice under field conditions. Our results suggest that OsJAR1 possesses at least two major functions in rice defense and development that cannot be complemented by the additional OsJAR2 gene function, although this gene previously showed overlapping enzyme activity in vitro.

It has been reported that trivalent cerium salts are effective inhibitors for corrosion of AA2024-T3 in neutral to alkaline co rrosive enviro nments,but poor in acidic *** this study,work was done for extending corrosion resistance provided by ce(NO_(3))_(3)to acidic pHs as low as 2.5 through the addition of iodide *** this end,potentiodynamic polarization was used to ascertain the optimum ce(Ⅲ)concentration for the inhibition of AA2024-T3 corrosion in 3.5%Nacl *** optimum concentration is found to be in a range between 0.1 and 0.3 mmol/L ce(Ⅲ).This optimum concentration also gives a maximum width of the passive region under the pitting potential(Epit).Based on this optimization,further work was performed as a function of pH without and in the presence of 0.01 mol/L KI at five pH values(2.5,4,5,7,and 8).Without iodide the best inhibition provided by the ce(Ⅲ)cation is at pH=7 but active corrosion is observed at pH=2.5 with an estimated inhibitor efficiency(-37.6%).The addition of iodide ions(I^(-))reverses the poor corrosion resistance whereby the inhibitor efficiency becomes 47.7%.Moreover,at pH=4 the efficiency is also increased from 54.0%to 81.0%with iodide addition providing a significant improvement over ce(Ⅲ)cations alone under acidic *** is a synergistic effect between I-anion and ce(Ⅲ)cation,which is determined to be 2.4 and 2.1 at pH=2.5and 4.0,*** pH=5 and 7 there is virtually no change in inhibition but at pH=8 the inhibition falls away due to a considerable amount of cerium precipitating out of solution as cerium *** protective film formed on sites in the aluminium alloy surface at different pH values was examined by both scanning electron microscopy with energy dispersive X-ray analysis and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy to determine the role of these ions as a function of pH in surface *** is proposed that at pH=2.5 protection is provided by a bilayer adsorption of iodide with"cap

LiNi_(0.5)co_(0.2)Mn_(0.3)O_(2)(NcM523) cathode materials can operate at extremely high voltages and have exceptional energy ***,their use is limited by inherent structure instability during charge/discharge and exceptionally oxidizing Ni^(4+)at the ***,we have developed a citrate-assisted deposition concept to achieve a uniform lithium-conductive LiNbO_(3) coating layer on the NcM523 surface that avoids self-nucleation of Nb-contained compounds in solution *** electrode-electrolyte interface is therefore stabilized by physically blocking the detrimental parasitic reactions and Ni^(4+)dissolution whilst still maintaining high Li+***,the modified NcM523 exhibits an encouraging Li-storage specific capacity of 207.4 m Ah g-1at 0.2 c and 128.9 m Ah g-1 at 10 c over the range 3.0-4.5 ***,a 92% capacity retention was obtained after 100 cycles at 1 c,much higher than that of the pristine NcM523(73%).This surface engineering strategy can be extended to modify other Ni-rich cathode materials with durable electrochemical performances.

Genetic variation is a key factor influencing cytokine production capacity,but which genetic loci regulate cytokine production before and after vaccination,particularly in African population is ***,we aimed to identify single-nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs)controlling cytokine responses after microbial stimulation in infants of West-African ancestry,comprising of low-birth-weight neonates randomized to bacillus calmette-Gue rin(BcG)vaccine-at-birth or to the usual delayed ***-wide cytokine cytokine quantitative trait loci(cQTL)mapping revealed 12 independent loci,of which the LINc01082-LINc00917 locus influenced more than half of the cytokine-stimulation pairs ***,nine distinct cQTLs were found among infants randomized to *** validation confirmed that several complement genes affect cytokine response after BcG *** observed a limited overlap of common cQTLs between the West-African infants and cohorts of Western European *** data reveal strong population-specific genetic effects on cytokine production and may indicate new opportunities for therapeutic intervention and vaccine development in African populations.
