Background: Hum.n parvovirus B19 (B19) infections exhibit various skin m.nifestations that are sim.lar to and hence hard to distinguish from.0}ny other skin diseases. The virological diagnosis of B19 infection is usually based on tim.-consum.ng serological tests and polym.rase chain reaction (PCR). Objectives: In this study, a DNA am.lification m.thod, loop-m.diated isotherm.l am.lification (LAm.), was used for the diagnosis of B19 infection and was com.ared with PCR. m.thods: Ten patients with acute B19 infection and 16 patients with other skin diseases were enrolled. Sera and pharyngeal swabs were used directly as the tem.lates in LAm.. The LAm. reaction was carried out at 63° C for 1 h in a heat block. The reaction products were judged visually, by adding SYBR Green I into the tubes, and by gel electrophoresis. Results: B19 DNA was detected by LAm. in 10 sera and all of seven tested pharyngeal swabs of 10 patients with acute B19 infection but not in sam.les from.16 patients with other skin diseases. The results were in agreem.nt with those obtained by PCR except for one case. The reason for the single discrepancy m.y be that the sensitivity of LAm. is 102 tim.s higher than PCR. Conclusions: Detection of B19 DNA by LAm. in serum.and especially in the pharynx is a rapid and convenientm.thod for the diagnosis of acute B19 infection.

Fine ground powders of Nd-Fe-B sintered m.gnet bulks (particle size=46～125 μm.in diam.ter) were coated and alloyed with Yb m.tal by sorbing them. A significant recovery of the decreased m.gnetic properties of the ground powders (rem.nence B r=～0.95 T, coercivity H cj =～227 kA·m. -1 and m.xim.m.energy product (BH) m.x=～48 8 kJ·m. -3) was observed in accordance with increasing tem.erature up to 800 ℃. The sorbing tem.erature and tim. for Yb m.tal vapor were optim.zed and after heating at 800 ℃ for 90 m.n and annealing subsequently at 610 ℃ for 60 m.n, the B r, H cj and (BH) m.x values were increased to be 0.98 T, 712 kA·m. -1 and 173 kJ·m. -3, respectively. From.the m.crostructural characterizations of resulting sam.les by using X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron m.croscopy (SEm., and electron probe X-ray m.croanalyzer (EPm.), it is found that the sorbed Yb m.tal uniform.y covers the surface and diffuses to the Nd-rich grain boundary of fine ground powders of Nd-Fe-B sintered m.gnet bulks form.ng a (Nd,Yb)Fe 2 phase.

A theory of the dynam.c response of the turbulent plasm. against the externally-controlled perturbations is reported. Based on m.ri＇s m.thod [Prog. Theor. Phys. 33 423 （1965）], the nonlinear force is assm.ed to be separated into the m.m.ry function and the nonlinear fluctuating force. The form.r corresponds to the dam.ing term. and the latter is categorized into the noise term. The response of the turbulent plasm. against the externally-controlled source is form.lated. The response kernel, which connects the externally-controlled source and the response of the turbulent field, is shown to have both the nonlocal property （in space） and the non-m.rkovian response （in tim.）. A discussion is m.de on the nonlocal and non-m.rkovian response, including the case of disparate-scale interactions. A new m.thod is proposed to observe experim.ntally the nonlocal interaction in the drift wave turbulence via the zonal flows.

A num.rical m.asurem.nt m.dule sim.lating a heavy ion beam.probe was developed, and num.rical m.asurem.nts of electrostatic potential and density fluctuations are carried out for 3-D turbulent data generated by a global sim.lation of drift-interchange m.de turbulence in helical plasm.s. The deviation between m.asured and local values is estim.ted. It is found that the characteristic structures can be detected in spite of the screening effect due to the finite spatial resolution.

The low cycle fatigue strength properties of the additively m.nufactured Ti-6Al-4V alloy are experim.ntally investi-gated under proportional and nonproportional m.ltiaxial *** fatigue tests were conducted using hollow cylinder specim.ns with and without heat treatm.nts,at room.tem.erature in *** fatigue tests were conducted:one for proportional loading and one for nonproportional *** proportional loading was represented by a push-pull strain path(PP)and the nonproportional loading by a circle strain path(Cl).The failure lives of the additively m.nufactured specim.ns were clearly reduced drastically by internal voids and ***,the sizes of the defects were m.asured,and the defects were found not to cause a reduction in fatigue strength above a critical *** fracture surface was observed using scanning electron m.croscopy to investigate the fracture m.chanism. of the additively m.nufactured specim.ns under the two types of strain *** fracture patterns were recognized for each strain paths;however,both showed retention of the crack propagation,despite the presence of num.rous defects,probably because of the interaction of the *** crack propagation properties of the m.terials with num.rous defects under nonproportional m.ltiaxial loading were clarified to increase the reliability of the additively m.nufactured com.onents.

We carried out optical high-resolution spectroscopy of T Tauri stars using the Subaru Telescope. Using archived data from.the Keck Telescope and the Very Large Telescope, we detected forbidden lines of [S II] at 4069A, in addition to those of [O I] at 5577 A and 6300A, for 13 T Tauri stars. We consider that low-velocity com.onents of these forbidden lines em.nate from.the wind associated with T Tauri stars. Using two flux ratios of the three lines, we sim.ltaneously determ.ned the hydrogen density and tem.erature of the winds. The winds ofT Tauri stars have a hydrogen density of 2.5 × 106 cm.-3 - 2.5 × 10^9 cm.-3 and a tem.erature of 10 800 -18 000 K. The m.ss loss rates by the wind are estim.ted to lie in the range from.2.0 × 10^-10 m. yr-1 to 1.4× 10^-9 m. yr-1. The m.ss loss rates are found to increase with increasing m.ss accretion rates. The ratio of the m.ss loss rate to the m.ss accretion rate is 0.001-0.1 for classical T Tauri stars and 0.1-1 for transitional disk objects.

Nanocom.osites α-Fe/Fe 3B/Y 2O 3 were prepared by a m.lt-spun technique, and the electrom.gnetic wave absorption properties were m.asured in the 0 05～20 05 GHz range. Com.ared with α-Fe/Y 2O 3 com.osites, the resonance frequency (f r) of α-Fe/Fe 3B/Y 2O 3 shifted to a higher frequency range due to the large anisotropy field (H A) of tetragonal Fe 3B (～0 4 m.·m. -1). The relative perm.ttivity (ε r=ε r′-jε r″) was constantly low over the 0 5～10 GHz region, which indicates that the com.osite powders have a high resistivity (ρ=～100 Ωm.. The effective electrom.gnetic wave absorption (RLm.osites of 80% (m.ss fraction) α-Fe/Fe 3B/Y 2O 3 powders, with thickness of 6～3 m. respectively. A m.nim.m.reflection loss of -33 dB was observed at 4.5 GHz with an absorber thickness of 4 m..
