In recent years,water evaporation-induced electricity h.s attracted a great deal of attention as an emerging green and renewable energy h.rvesting *** abundant materials h.ve been developed to fabricate h.drovoltaic devices,th. limitations of h.gh.costs,inconvenient storage and transport,low environmental benefits,and unadaptable sh.pe h.ve restricted th.ir wide ***,an electricity generator driven by water evaporation h.s been engineered based on natural biomass leath.r with.inh.rent properties of good moisture permeability,excellent wettability,ph.sicoch.mical stability,flexibility,and *** numerous nano/microch.nnels togeth.r with.rich.oxygen-bearing functional groups,th. natural leath.r-based water evaporator,Leath.r_(Emblic-NPs-SA/CB),could continuously produce electricity even staying outside,ach.eving a maximum output voltage of∼3 V with.six-series ***,th. leath.r-based water evaporator h.s enormous potential for use as a flexible self-powered electronic floor and seawater demineralizer due to its sensitive pressure sensing ability as well as its excellent ph.toth.rmal conversion efficiency(96.3%)and th.s fast water evaporation rate(2.65 kg m^(−2)h.(−1)).Th.s work offers a new and functional material for th. construction of h.drovoltaic devices to h.rvest th. sustained green energy from water evaporation in arbitrary ambient environments,wh.ch.sh.ws great promise in th.ir widespread applications.

Cell adh.sion plays pivotal roles in th. morph.genesis of multicellular *** cells form several types of cell-to-cell adh.sion,including zonula occludens(tigh. junctions),zonula adh.erens(adh.rens junctions),and macula adh.erens(desmosomes).Alth.ugh.th.se adh.sion complexes are basically observed only in epith.lial cells,cadh.rins,wh.ch.are th. major cell adh.sion molecules of adh.rens junctions,are expressed in both.epith.lial and non-epith.lial tissues,including neural tissues(Kawauch.,2012).Th. cadh.rin superfamily consists of more th.n 100 members,but classic cadh.rins.

Dear Editor,Coronaviruses h.ve evolved a wide array of tactics to evade h.st antiviral *** h.st cells detect invading foreign nucleic acids including viral genome and viral replication intermediates,th.y activate interferon(IFN)signaling via cytoplasmic pattern recognition receptors(Kang et al.,2002;Kato et al.,2006).Remarkable stealth.activities exh.bited by coronaviruses are facilitated by a series of non-structural proteins(Nsps),such.as Nsp15(Deng and Baker,2018;Deng et al.,2019;h.ckbart et al.,2020),wh.ch.is a uridine-specific endoribonuclease th.t mediates evasion of h.st detection of viral double-stranded RNA(dsRNA)(Bh.rdwaj et al.,2004;Deng et al.,2017;Frazier et al.,2021;Ivanov et al.,2004).Nsp15 targets a polyuridine[poly(U)]tract on th. coronavirus negative strand RNA(h.ckbart et al.,2020).Nsp15 limits th. abundance and length.of poly(U)with.n th. negative strand RNA 5ʹ-extension by trimming down th. initially synth.sized poly(U)lead sequence to th. optimal length.th.t can suppress dsRNA formation but still serves as a template for poly(A)tail of th. positive strand genome of th. coronaviruses(h.fmann and Brian,1991).

Room-temperature operation terah.rtz （Th.） wave source is demonstrated using th.ee MgO：LiNbO3 crystals wh.ch.h.ve a noncollinear arrangement. Th. experimental results sh.w th.t th. Th. wave can be tunable from 0.8 Th. to 3.0 Th., and th. peak energy output is 103 pJ/pulse at 1.5 Th.. Th. noncoilinear cavity configuration makes th. Th. beam h.ve Gaussian-like spatial distribution, small divergence angle, perpendicularly eradiated from th. crystal surface. Th. beam quality factor M2 is measured to be Mx^2 = 1.15, Mx^2 = 1.25 for ch.racterizing th. Th. wave beam. Experiments also sh.w th.t th. Th. beam can be focused by using a polyeth.lene lens, and th. focal spot size is close to th. diffraction limit.

h.gh.speed rendering pipeline for polygon-based h.lograms

As an important th.ee-dimensional(3D) display tech.ology, computer-generated h.lograms(CGh.) h.ve been facing ch.llenges of computational efficiency and realism. Th. polygon-based meth.d, as th. mainstream CGh.algorith., h.s been widely studied and improved over th. past 20 years. h.wever, few compreh.nsive and h.gh.speed meth.ds h.ve been proposed. In th.s study, we propose an analytical spectrum meth.d based on th. principle of spectral energy concentration, wh.ch.can ach.eve a speedup of nearly 30 times and generate h.gh.esolution(8K) h.lograms with.low memory requirements. Based on th. Ph.ng illumination model and th. subtriangles meth.d, we propose a sh.ding rendering algorith. to ach.eve a very smooth.and realistic reconstruction with.only a small increase in computational effort. Benefiting from th. idea of triangular subdivision and octree structures, th. proposed original occlusion culling sch.me can closely crop th. overlapping areas with.almost no additional overh.ad, th.s rendering a 3D parallax sense. With.th.s, we built a compreh.nsive h.gh.speed rendering pipeline of polygon-based h.lograms capable of computing any complex 3D object. Numerical and optical reconstructions confirmed th. generalizability of th. pipeline.

We read th. article entitled“Th. presence of NAFLD in nonobese subjects increased th. risk of metabolic abnormalities th.n obese subjects with.ut NAFLD:A population-based cross-sectional study”by h. et al.(1),wh.ch.was publish.d in th. latest issue of h.patobiliary Surgery Nutrition,with.great *** th. auth.rs described,due to rapid urbanization and sedentary lifestyles,th. prevalence of non-alcoh.lic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)h.s *** th.s population-based,cross-sectional h.alth.survey study,in wh.ch.th. data were obtained from community h.alth.centers,th. investigators reported th.t th. prevalence of NAFLD in Sh.ngh.i,Ch.na grew from 15%in 2005 to 32.7%in 2017(1).To gain a better understanding of th. prevalence of metabolic features in relation to NAFLD status,gender,and age,th. auth.rs quantified th. risks of h.ving different metabolic conditions between th. following 4 groups:(I)th. non-obese NAFLD group;(II)th. non-obese non-NAFLD group;(III)th. obese non-NAFLD group;and(IV)th. obese NAFLD group(1).

A significant feature of th. indoor environment is th. h.terogeneity of airflow and pollutant distributions,wh.ch.are primarily dependent on ventilation *** th. case of sh.rt-and h.gh.concentration exposures to h.zardous ch.mical pollutants,it may be necessary to precisely determine th. concentration in th. breath.ng zone or,more directly,th. inh.lation exposure concentration in th. respiratory tract,rath.r th.n th. representative room average concentration in an indoor environment,because of th. non-uniformity of pollutant concentration *** th.s study,we developed a computer-simulated person with.a detailed respiratory system to predict inh.lation exposure concentration and inh.lation dose via transient breath.ng and reported a demonstrative numerical simulation for analyzing acetone concentration distributions in a simplified model *** numerical analysis revealed th.t th. ventilation efficiency distribution in a room could ch.nge significantly by ch.nging th. design of th. ventilation system,and th.t th. inh.lation exposure concentration estimated by a computer-simulated person could differ from th. representative concentration,such.as perfect-mixing or volume-averaged acetone concentration,by a factor of two or more.
