The effectiveness of the Business Intelligence(BI)system mainly depends on the quality of knowledge it *** decision-making process is hindered,and the user’s trust is lost,if the knowledge offered is undesired or of poor quality.A Data Warehouse(DW)is a huge collection of data gathered from many sources and an important part of any BI solution to assist management in making better *** Extract,Transform,and Load(ETL)process is the backbone of a DW system,and it is responsible for moving data from source systems into the DW *** more mature the ETL process the more reliable the DW *** this paper,we propose the ETL Maturity Model(EMM)that assists organizations in achieving a high-quality ETL system and thereby enhancing the quality of knowledge *** EMM is made up of five levels of maturity i.e.,Chaotic,Acceptable,Stable,Efficient and *** level of maturity contains Key Process Areas(KPAs)that have been endorsed by industry experts and include all critical features of a good ETL *** Objectives(QOs)are defined procedures that,when implemented,resulted in a high-quality ETL *** KPA has its own set of QOs,the execution of which meets the requirements of that *** brainstorming sessions with relevant industry experts helped to enhance the *** deployed in two key projects utilizing multiple case studies to supplement the validation process and support our *** model can assist organizations in improving their current ETL process and transforming it into a more mature ETL *** model can also provide high-quality information to assist users inmaking better decisions and gaining their trust.

The paper is designed to detail the material and non-material aspects of traditional bamboo architecture culturally inherited by the Bawm ethnic community from their *** Bawms utilize their traditional experiences,knowledge,and skills in constructing and using bamboo architectures in their mountainous landscape ecosystem located in east southern *** paper tries to identify the cultural division of activities done by the male and female Bawms in building various bamboo *** paper aptly attempts to discuss how the Bawms design and use bamboo resources for constructing their housing materials,furniture,and *** they traditionally build bamboo structures in protecting their cropping land,cattle,and poultry,and in trapping fish and crab in *** utilize bamboo resources in constructing indigenous cap,hand fan,goods carriers,handloom structure,and the *** love to decorate their house with bamboo structures and to make gate for wedding ceremony,platform for recreation and other social rallies,and the *** paper enthusiastically shows that in the sheer lack of organizational support in this context,their unique cultural heritage of bamboo architecture has been vanishing due development interventions and rapid acculturation of other cultural traits in *** use all bamboo structures for their own consumption and for earning cash as *** it attempts to describe the beliefs and rituals the Bawm people keep in mind and socially observe in constructing bamboo *** paper is primarily based on the data gathered through direct interviewing with the randomly chosen Bawm household heads of the study village,observation,focus group discussions（FGDs）,oral histories,and case *** on the findings,a number of suggestive policy measures that the planners and implementers may consider for the future development of mountainous forest landscape of Bangladesh are embedded in the end of the paper.

Efficiency of the Adaptive Cluster Sampling Designs in Estimation of Rare Populations

Adaptive cluster sampling (ACS) has been a very important tool in estimation of population parameters of rare and clustered population. The fundamental idea behind this sampling plan is to decide on an initial sample from a defined population and to keep on sampling within the vicinity of the units that satisfy the condition that at least one characteristic of interest exists in a unit selected in the initial sample. Despite being an important tool for sampling rare and clustered population, adaptive cluster sampling design is unable to control the final sample size when no prior knowledge of the population is available. Thus adaptive cluster sampling with data-driven stopping rule (ACS’) was proposed to control the final sample size when prior knowledge of population structure is not available. This study examined the behavior of the HT, and HH estimator under the ACS design and ACS’ design using artificial population that is designed to have all the characteristics of a rare and clustered population. The efficiencies of the HT and HH estimator were used to determine the most efficient design in estimation of population mean in rare and clustered population. Results of both the simulated data and the real data show that the adaptive cluster sampling with stopping rule is more efficient for estimation of rare and clustered population than ordinary adaptive cluster sampling.

Bootstrap Confidence Intervals for Proportions of Unequal Sized Groups Adjusted for Overdispersion

Group testing is a method of pooling a number of units together and performing a single test on the resulting group. It is an appealing option when few individual units are thought to be infected leading to reduced costs of testing as compared to individually testing the units. Group testing aims to identify the positive groups in all the groups tested or to estimate the proportion of positives (p) in a population. Interval estimation methods of the proportions in group testing for unequal group sizes adjusted for overdispersion have been examined. Lately improvement in statistical methods allows the construction of highly accurate confidence intervals (CIs). The aim here is to apply group testing for estimation and generate highly accurate Bootstrap confidence intervals (CIs) for the proportion of defective or positive units in particular. This study provided a comparison of several proven methods of constructing CIs for a binomial proportion after adjusting for overdispersion in group testing with groups of unequal sizes. Bootstrap resampling was applied on data simulated from binomial distribution, and confidence intervals with high coverage probabilities were produced. This data was assumed to be overdispersed and independent between groups but correlated within these groups. Interval estimation methods based on the Wald, the Logit and Complementary log-log (CLL) functions were considered. The criterion used in the comparisons is mainly the coverage probabilities attained by nominal 95% CIs, though interval width is also regarded. Bootstrapping produced CIs with high coverage probabilities for each of the three interval methods.

Treatment of Mild to Moderate Hallux Valgus, Percutaneous Osteotomy versus Distal Chevron Osteotomy

Objective: The aim of this study was to compare two different surgical techniques for treating mild to moderate cases of hallux valgus. Methods: Forty-one patients (58 feet) with mild to moderate hallux valgus were treated by either percutaneous technique (n = 24) patients (33 feet) or by distal chevron osteotomy (n = 17) (25 feet). Results: In the percutaneous group, after a mean follow up of 49.36 months, the mean correction of hallux valgus angle (HV) was 26.69°in the intermetatarsal angle, average correction was 9.45°. The mean improvement of American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Score (AOFAS) was 46.45 points. In the chevron osteotomy group, the mean follow up of 51.56 months, the mean correction of hallux valgus angle was 26.78°in the intermetatarsal angle, average correction was 9°. The mean improvement of AOFAS was 44.76 points. Conclusion: Both techniques gave satisfactory results. However, the percutaneous technique is safer than the distal chevron osteotomy.

Estimating Equations for Estimation of Mcdonald Generalized Beta— Binomial Parameters

There has been a considerable recent attention in modeling over dispersed binomial data occurring in toxicology, biology, clinical medicine, epidemiology and other similar fields using a class of Binomial mixture distribution such as Beta Binomial distribution (BB) and Kumaraswamy-Binomial distribution (KB). A new three-parameter binomial mixture distribution namely, McDonald Generalized Beta Binomial (McGBB) distribution has been developed which is superior to KB and BB since studies have shown that it gives a better fit than the KB and BB distribution on both real life data set and on the extended simulation study in handling over dispersed binomial data. The dispersion parameter will be treated as nuisance in the analysis of proportions since our interest is in the parameters of McGBB distribution. In this paper, we consider estimation of parameters of this MCGBB model using Quasi-likelihood (QL) and Quadratic estimating functions (QEEs) with dispersion. By varying the coefficients of the QEE’s we obtain four sets of estimating equations which in turn yield four sets of estimates. We compare small sample relative efficiencies of the estimates based on QEEs and quasi-likelihood with the maximum likelihood estimates. The comparison is performed using real life data sets arising from alcohol consumption practices and simulated data. These comparisons show that estimates based on optimal QEEs and QL are highly efficient and are the best among all estimates investigated.

This study investigated the effect of heat stress on primary myocardial cell damage,histopathological lesions,apoptosis and it’s signal transduction molecules and the expression of Hsp90αprotein and its coraresponding mRNA in response to heat stress in *** inc ubated at 37℃for 72 h in humidified atmosphere of 5%CO and 95%air,the myocardial cells were suddenly heat stressed for 10 min,20 min,40 min,1 h,2 h,4 h,6 h and 8 h in another incubator with 95%air and 5%CO at 42℃.Levels of CK enzyme,histopathology,apoptosis,apoptosis signal transduction and hsp90αwere detected using enzymatic assay,histopathological technique,flow cytometry and western blot *** levels were gradually changed during heat stress,suggesting that the myocardial cells were distinctly stressed and obviously damaged by the heat *** results of flow cytometry showed that apoptotic levels at 40 min and 8 h of heat stress were significantly higher than those of the control(P<0.01 and P<0.05) respectively. Levels of cytochrome c and cleaved caspase-3 significantly increased at 40 min heat *** 40 min heat stress,hsp90αshow significant *** results demonstrate that apoptosis inhibit hsp90α.In contrast,Hsp90αsignificantly increased(P<0.01) at 6 and 8 h heat *** elevation of hsp90αin the primary myocardial cells is important marker at the later time of the heat shock and may act as a protective protein.

Security and safety remain paramount concerns for both governments and individuals *** today’s context,the frequency of crimes and terrorist attacks is alarmingly increasing,becoming increasingly intolerable to ***,there is a pressing need for swift identification of potential threats to preemptively alert law enforcement and security forces,thereby preventing potential attacks or violent *** advancements in big data analytics and deep learning have significantly enhanced the capabilities of computer vision in object detection,particularly in identifying *** paper introduces a novel automatic firearm detection surveillance system,utilizing a one-stage detection approach named MARIE(Mechanism for Realtime Identification of Firearms).MARIE incorporates the Single Shot Multibox Detector(SSD)model,which has been specifically optimized to balance the speed-accuracy trade-off critical in firearm detection *** SSD model was further refined by integrating MobileNetV2 and InceptionV2 architectures for superior feature extraction *** experimental results demonstrate that this modified SSD configuration provides highly satisfactory performance,surpassing existing methods trained on the same dataset in terms of the critical speedaccuracy *** these innovations,MARIE sets a new standard in surveillance technology,offering a robust solution to enhance public safety effectively.

Vagus nerve stimulation(VNS)and stroke:Stroke is the second leading cause of death and the third leading cause of disability worldwide(Baig et al.,2023).There have been significant paradigm shifts in the management of acute ischemic stroke through mechanical *** chronic ischemic stroke,invasive VNS paired with rehabilitation is associated with a significant increase in upper limb motor recovery and is FDA-approved(Baig et al.,2023).There are no treatments of similar efficacy in acute intracerebral hemorrhage(ICH)where several promising trials,e.g.,TICH-2,STOP-AUST,and TRAIGE did not show improvements in functional outcomes(Puy et al.,2023).
