锂硫电池因其较高的理论容量和对环境友好等优势被视为极具发展潜力的储能装置,但是多硫化物的穿梭效应极大地限制了锂硫电池的实际应用。本文以葡萄糖为碳源,离子液体为氮源和硫源,KCl和ZnCl_(2)为模板剂,KOH为活化剂,通过热解工艺合成了氮硫共掺杂多孔碳(NSPC)。XPS和极性吸附实验表明N、S杂原子成功引入并且提高了碳材料对多硫化物的吸附能力,有效缓解多硫化物的穿梭效应,而较高的比表面积(1290.67 m^(2)·g^(-1))有助于提高硫负载量。负载70.1wt.%的硫后(S@NSPC)作为锂硫电池的正极材料表现出了良好的电化学性能。在167.5 mA·g^(-1)的电流密度下S@NSPC的首次放电容量为1229.2 mAh·g^(-1),远高于S@PC的861.6 mAh·g^(-1),且S@NSPC循环500圈后容量为328.1 mAh·g^(-1)。当电流密度从3350 mA·g^(-1)恢复至167.5 mA·g^(-1)时,可逆容量达到首圈放电比容量的80%,几乎恢复至其初始值。

背景与目的:急性阑尾炎(AA)在接受化疗的儿童和成人患者中很少见。尽管白血病患者的急性阑尾炎很少发生,但其死亡率较高。此外,由于非典型临床表现导致严重后果,阑尾炎的诊断被延迟。AA有时单独发生,也可能与中性粒细胞减少症、腹痛和发热三者重叠。接受化疗的白血病患者的免疫功能受损。阑尾粘膜衬里敏感,易被化疗药物破坏,导致局部细菌入侵,导致严重感染和死亡。因此,化疗期间白血病患者比正常人更容易患急性阑尾炎。因此,阑尾切除术仍然是治疗AA的唯一选择。然而,由于原发疾病恶性程度高、白细胞异常和/或凝血功能异常,白血病患者的手术治疗面临许多困难,因为它增加了并发症和生存的风险。内镜逆行阑尾炎治疗(ERAT)是一种新的微创治疗技术,可降低阑尾腔的压力,消除根本原因(如梗阻),并通过自然孔口治疗阑尾炎。我们进行这项研究是为了探讨ERAT治疗白血病患者急性阑尾炎的可行性和有效性。材料和方法:2018年1月至2020年8月,共有5例(3男2女)连续急性白血病合并急性阑尾炎患者入选。5例患者临床表现为腹痛前发热,其中转移性右下腹痛5例,腹胀2例,发热2例。其他症状包括恶心、呕吐和疲劳。实验室检查显示,诊断时白细胞计数中位数为3.71×109/L(范围:2.28-6.69×109/L),其中1例<3×109/L。诊断时血红蛋白浓度中位数为70g/L(范围:35-90g/L),其中2例<60g/L,诊断时的中位血小板计数为59×109/L(范围:17-85×109/L),其中1例<30×109/L。所有入选患者均进行ERAT。分析手术成功率、手术时间、住院时间、并发症及复发率。ERAT程序如下所示:(a)将带有透明盖子的内窥镜插入盲肠,以识别阑尾的开口(2)使用导管和0.035英寸的导丝在射线监测下对阑尾腔进行插管。插管成功后,大多数病例可见脓液从阑尾腔流出;(3)然后将水溶性造影剂注入阑尾腔,检查是否存在扩张、狭窄或填充缺陷,以及是否存在表明穿孔的造影剂泄漏(4)。如果存在填充缺陷,则使用篮子或气球移除阑尾结石。(5)然后用20至100毫升盐水反复冲洗阑尾腔;(6)阑尾管腔或开口狭窄的患者在X光监视下,在导丝上放置7至8.5 Fr塑料支架。2-4周后,患者接受腹部X光检查,以检查支架是否移位,如果没有,则通过内窥镜将其取出。结果:***程序技术成功率为100%。平均手术时间为51.2±28.3min。2.患者腹痛均立即缓解。术后12小时内反弹压痛消失。3.术中或术后均未发生血液学或其他并发症。术后常规使用抗生素,平均2.8±0.7天后出院。4.随访3-47个月,其他患者无复发或其他不良事件发生。结论:在这项研究中,我们发现在急性阑尾炎的治疗中使用ERAT程序不仅有显著的成功率,而且缩短了手术时间,加快了术后体温恢复时间,减少了术后卧床休息时间和住院时间,并降低了经证明是经济有效的手术并发症发生率。ERAT是治疗急性阑尾炎的一种有效、微创的替代方法,术后腹痛迅速缓解,阑尾保留,恢复迅速,使日常生活尽快恢复正常。为了进一步评估ERAT的安全性和有效性,还需要一项全面的国际性、多中心、高质量的大样本随机临床对照前瞻性研究。

Purification and characterization of the kinetic parameters of cellulase produced from wheat straw by Trichoderma viride under SSF and its detergent compatibility

This paper reports the purification and characterization of kinetic parameters of cellulase produced from Trichoderma viride under still culture solid state fermentation technique using cheap and an easily available agricultural waste material, wheat straw as growth supported substrate. Trichoderma viride was cultured in fermentation medium of wheat straw under some previously optimized growth conditions and maximum activity of 398±2.43U/mL obtained after stipulated fermentation time period. Cellulase was purified 2.33 fold with specific activity of 105U/mg in comparison to crude enzyme extract using ammonium sulfate precipitation, dialysis and Sephadex-G-100 column chromatography. The enzyme was shown to have a relative low molecular weight of 58kDa by sodium dodecyl sulphate poly-acrylamide gel electrophoresis. The purified enzyme displayed 6.5 and 55oC as an optimum pH and temperature respectively. Using carboxymethyl cellulose as substrate, the enzyme showed maximum activity (Vmax) of 148U/mL with its corresponding KM value of 68μM. Among activators/inhibitors SDS, EDTA, and Hg2+ showed inhibitory effect on purified cellulase whereas, the enzyme activated by Co2+ and Mn2+ at a concentration of 1mM. The purified cellulase was compatible with four local detergent brands with up to 20 days of shelf life at room temperature suggesting its potential as a detergent additive for improved washing therefore, it is concluded that it may be potentially useful for industrial purposes especially for detergent and laundry industry.

Enhanced bio-catalytic and tolerance properties of an indigenous cellulase through xerogel immobilization

Today, demand exists for cost-effective production of industrially important enzymes from entire scientific sectors. By keeping in mind the extensive industrial applications of cellulase, this study was performed to immobilize the indigenous enzyme produced from Trichoderma viride under pre-optimized SSF of an agricultural waste material, wheat straw. To enhance the bio-catalytic and tolerance properties of the present enzyme gel matrix immobilization engineering was applied. Previously, 2.33~fold purified novel cellulase was immobilized in to a xerogel matrix of TMOS and PTMS. FTIR spectroscopy confirmed the successful immobilization of cellulase. The free and immobilized cellulase was characterized and stability profile showed that after 24 h incubation, immobilization enhanced the thermo-stability up to 75% against 80℃ as compare to the free enzyme. Xerogel matrix immobilization enhanced the catalytic efficiency of entrapped enzyme than that of the free cellulase. Among activators/inhibitors SDS, EDTA, and Hg2+ showed inhibitory effect while, gel matrix immobilization enhanced 80% tolerance capacity of the cellulase against inactivating agents.

Assessment of Extent and Severity of Pellet Induced Abdominal Injuries, a Rare Variant of Weapon Violence: A Prospective Study

Background: The use of a Pellet gun, a form of short gun used for mob control in many conflict zones, has posed a serious challenge to the surgeons in assessing the extent of trauma caused by these pellets. Objectives: To study the role of conventional available investigations for trauma like ultrasonography and computed tomography scans in assessing the severity of the injuries caused by the pellets. Methodology: 50 patients having pellet injuries predominantly in abdomen without other associated trauma were included in the study. The decision for surgery was taken on the basis of clinical and CECT (Contrast Enhanced Computed Tomography) findings and these findings were then compared with intra-operative findings. Results: 30/50 patients were decided to be operated on the basis of Clinical and CECT findings. On exploration, it was observed that 18/33 patients really needed exploration while as 15/33 patients could have been managed conservatively. This was observed in next 20/50 patients who were put on conservative management with similar CECT findings. Of these 20 patients, 17 did well while as 3 were explored later in view of developing peritonitis and were found to have small bowel perforations. Conclusion: Conventional investigations for trauma like FAST and CECT abdomen are not ideal for assessing the severity of pellet induced abdominal visceral injuries which result in high rate of unnecessary laparotomies. Also the abdominal pellet trauma patients can be well managed conservatively until hemodynamically stable even though CT scan shows pellet penetration into peritoneal cavity or bowel lumen.

Nutritional Evaluation and Palatability of Major Range Forbs from South Darfur, Sudan

The nutritive value of rangelands in Southern Darfur, Sudan could be improved by introduction and multiplication of nutritious forbs with the objective of increasing livestock production in the area. The present study was conducted to evaluate the nutritive value and palatability of eleven range forbs collected at flowering stage from Gahzal Gawazat, Southern Darfur, Sudan using chemical analysis. The crude protein (CP) ranged from 6.8% in Oxygonum atriplicifolium with lowest digestible crude protein (DCP) 2.8% to 16.4% in Zornia diphylla with highest DCP 11.73%. The highest and the lowest crude fiber (CF) values were obtained in Commelina spp (56.4%) and Sesamum alatum (25.9%), respectively. NDF and DMI values were maximum and minimum for Zornia diphylla (44.9 and 2.67%) and Alysicarpus glumaceus (35.3 and 3.4%), respectively. The total digestible nutrients (TDN) ranged from 57.1% in Blepharis linariifolia to 69.3% in Tribulus terrestris with highest digestible energy (DE) in later while the lowest DE was obtained in Commelina spp (2.4%). The calculated in vitro organic matter digestibility (IVOMD) was highest for the Canavalia ensiformis (50.27%) and lowest value (43.17%) for Commelina spp. Zornia diphylla, Tribulus terrestris and Sesamum alatum showed highest nutritive value, while Alysicarpus glumaceus, Oldenlandia senegalensis and Chrozophora brocchiana showed highest palatability. It is concluded that these rangeland forbs are palatable and their CP and energy contents are sufficient to support different classes of livestock in South Darfur, Sudan.
