Blue emitting exciplex for yellow and white organic light‑emitting diodes

White organic light-emitting diodes(WOLEDs)have several desirable features,but their commercialization is hindered by the poor stability of blue light emitters and high production costs due to complicated device ***,we investigate a standard blue emitting hole transporting material(HTm)N,N'-bis(naphthalen-1-yl)-N,N'-bis(phenyl)benzidine(NPB)and its exciplex emission upon combining with a suitable electron transporting material(ETm),3-(biphenyl-4-yl)-5-(4-tert-butylphenyl)-4-phenyl-4H-1,2,4-triazole(TAZ).Blue and yellow OLEDs with simple device structures are developed by using a blend layer,NPB:TAZ,as a blue emitter as well as a host for yellow phosphorescent dopant iridium(III)bis(4-phenylthieno[3,2-c]pyridinato-N,c2')acetylacetonate(PO-01).Strategic device design then exploits the ambipolar charge transport properties of tetracene as a spacer layer to connect these blue and yellow emitting *** tetracene-linked device demonstrates more promising results compared to those using a conventional charge generation layer(cGL).Judicious choice of the spacer prevents exciton difusion from the blue emitter unit,yet facilitates charge carrier transport to the yellow emitter unit to enable additional exciplex *** complementary behavior of the spacer improves the blue emission properties concomitantly yielding reasonable yellow *** overall white light emission properties are enhanced,achieving cIE coordinates(0.36,0.39)and color temperature(4643 K)similar to *** intermolecular exciplex emission in OLEDs simplifes the device architecture via its dual functionality as a host and as an emitter.

Prognostic and predictive biomarkers in metastatic colorectal cancer anti-EGFR therapy

AIm: To reviewing genetic and epigenetic make-up of metastatic colorectal cancers (mcRcs) addicted to epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) ***: The present study summarizes the potential value of prognostic and predictive biomarkers in selecting mcRc patients treated with anti-EGFR therapy. A meta-analysis was performed using a systematic search of Pubmed, medline and Web of Science to identify eligible papers until march 21st, 2016 using these following terms: ‘‘colorectal cancer’’, “predictive biomarkers’’, “anti-EGFR therapy”, “KRAS”, “NRAS’’, “PIK3cA”, “TP53”, “PTEN”, ‘‘EGFR”, “mET”, “HER2”, “epiregulin”, “amphiregulin”, “prognostic biomarkers”, “BRAF”, “miRNA” and “antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity (ADcc) activity”. Two investigators independently evaluated and extracted data from each identified studies based on selected criteria of inclusion and ***: The introduction of agents targeting EGFR such as cetuximab and panitumumab increased overall survival of mcRcs. Nevertheless, it has firstly became evident that response rates to cetuximab regimens in unselected patient populations were typically lower than 30%. clinical data confirmed the predictive value of RAS mutations for resistance to cetuximab and panitumumab leading to the license of these monoclonal antibodies exclusively for the management of patients with RAS-wild type colorectal cancers. Rapid prototyping of a polymer mEmS dropletdispenser by laser-assisted 3D printing

In this work, we introduce a polymer version of a previously developed silicon mEmS drop deposition tool for surfacefunctionalization that consists of a microcantilever integrating an open fluidic channel and a reservoir. The device isfabricated by laser stereolithography, which offers the advantages of low-cost and fast prototyping. Additionally,thanks to the ability to process multiple materials, a magnetic base is incorporated into the cantilever for convenienthandling and attachment to the holder of a robotized stage used for spotting. Droplets with diameters ranging from∼50 μm to ∼300 μm are printed upon direct contact of the cantilever tip with the surface to pattern. Liquid loading isachieved by fully immersing the cantilever into a reservoir drop, where a single load results in the deposition of morethan 200 droplets. The influences of the size and shape of the cantilever tip and the reservoir on the printing outcomeare studied. As a proof-of-concept of the biofunctionalization capability of this 3D printed droplet dispenser,microarrays of oligonucleotides and antibodies displaying high specificity and no cross-contamination are fabricated,and droplets are deposited at the tip of an optical fiber bundle.

Apparently m. A. E1-Lakany also fails to see the need of such a new interaction. moreover, he also has no experiment predictions that can be used to support his theory. Prognostic impact of body mass index on in-hospital bleeding complications after ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction

In this study,the role of twin-twin interactions on the distributions of local defects(e.g.,dislocations)and stress fields in a magnesium alloy is investigated.A co-zone(1012)-(1012)tensile twin junction in a deformed mg-3wt.%Y alloy is analyzed using transmission electron microscopy(TEm).The results show that the morphology of the impinging(1012)twin is asymmetric,and the non-interacting boundary of the recipient(1012)twin is *** analysis of TEm images reveals that type-II pyramidal[1213](1212)dislocations concentrate in the vicinity of the twin-twin junction *** samec+a>dislocations are also observed inside the interacting twin domains along with a few ***c+a>dislocations emanating from the impinging(1012)twin boundary have edge character and are extended with faults parallel to the basal *** contrast,thec+a>dislocations connected to the recipient(1012)twin are predominantly screw orientation and ***-viscoplastic fast Fourier transform based crystal plasticity calculations are performed to rationalize the observed twin morphology and local dislocation *** model calculations suggest that the local stress fields generated at the junction site where the two twins meet are responsible for the experimentally observed concentration ofc+a>*** calculated stress fields are asymmetric with respect to the junction site,explaining the observed asymmetric morphology of the impinging ***,these findings show strong effects of twin-twin interactions on the distribution of dislocations as well as the evolution of the twinned microstructure and as such,can help advance understanding of twinning in mg alloys and their effect on mechanical behavior.
