The development of sulfur cathodes with high areal capacity and high energy density is crucial for the practical application of lithium-sulfur batteries(LSBs).LSBs can be built by employing(ultra)high-loading sulfur cathodes,which have rarely been realized due to massive passivation and ***,microspheres of a carbon-carbon nitride composite(C@Cn)with large mesopores are fabricated via molecular cooperative *** the C@Cn-based electrodes,the effects of the large mesopores and n-functional groups on the electrochemical behavior of sulfur in LSB cells are thoroughly investigated under ultrahigh sulfur-loading conditions(>15 mgS cm^(-2)).Furthermore,for high-energy-density LSBs,the C@Cn powders are pelletized into a thick free-standing electrode(thickness:500^m;diameter:11 mm)via a simple briquette process;here,the total amount of energy stored by the LSB cells is 39 mWh,corresponding to a volumetric energy density of 440 Wh L-1 with an areal capacity of 24.9 and 17.5 mAh cm^(-2) at 0.47 and 4.7 mA cm^(-2),respectively(at 24mgS cm^(-2)).These results have significantly surpassed most recent records due to the synergy among the large mesopores,(poly)sulfide-philic surfaces,and thick *** developed strategy with its potential for scale-up successfully fills the gap between laboratory-scale cells and practical cells without sacrificing the high areal capacity and high energy density,providing a solid foundation for the development of practical LSBs.

Occupational Allergic Contact Dermatitis in Tunisia: Epidemiology and Occupational Outcome

Background: Occupational allergic contact dermatitis (ACD) is one of the most frequent diseases on the workplace worldwide. Its national incidence and prevalence were not previously studied in Tunisia. Objective: To assess incidence of occupational allergic contact dermatitis and its occupational outcome in Tunisia. Methods: Descriptive epidemiological study of all cases of occupational allergic contact dermatitis reported from 2002 to 2012 in Tunisia and recognized by the medical commissions of the national Health Insurance Fund. Results: 315 cases of occupational ACD were collected representing an annual incidence of 31.65 cases/100.000 workers in the private sector in Tunisia. The mean age of our population was 42.70 ± 9.02 years with a male predominance (sex ratio 3.03). The most affected sectors were the clothing sector (14.3% of cases) and the cement industry (13.7% of cases). Patch tests were positive in 188 patients (59.67%). The most frequently positive allergen was potassium dichromate in 27.3% of the cases. Overall, 25.4% of patients had lost their jobs. After multiple binary logistic regression, job loss had a statistically significant relationship with localization of lesions on the face and on dominant hand. Conclusion: Occupational ACD is frequent in Tunisia and is responsible for an important rate of job loss. Preventive measures must be reinforced, especially the wearing of protective gloves.

The Monitoring Interest of BK Virus Load in Renal Allograft Tunisian Recipients: Prospective Study

BK virus (BKV) may cause nephropathy in renal transplant recipients receiving immunosuppressive therapy, resulting in renal dysfunction and, possibly graft loss. However, the positive and negative predictive values of BK viral load are still controversial. In this prospective, single-center study, BKV DnA was measured 1, 3 and 6 months after transplantation. The viral load in urine and plasma was quantified with the real-time Q-PCR (Argen kit) in 73 renal allograft recipients Three of them showed acute rejection. To determine the cutoff value of viral load, 60 sera samples of healthy blood donors, matched for age and sex, were tested. The mean plasmatic viral load one month post-transplantation was statistically higher in renal transplant recipients (17.23 copies/ml) compared to that in controls (2 copies/ml) (p: 0.06). This difference of the distribution of viremia values is more evident in the third and sixth month (p: 0.002 and 0.010 respectively). Furthermore, analysis of the kinetic of viral load revealed an average rise of viremia at 3 months (1589.14 copies/ml) followed by its decrease at 6 months (249.75 copies/ml). However, the difference was not statistically significant. The same is true for the distribution of values of viruria and in all cases the average viral load was statistically higher in urine than in plasma. In addition, this study did not shown significant relationsheep between viremia/viruria and the occurrence of acute rejection, the renal function deterioration, the source of allograft or immunosuppressive therapy protocol. If the results of this study demonstrate the importance of the replication of BKV in renal transplant patients from the first month compared to that in immunocompetent subjects, the screening of the DnA of this virus does not appear to have a prognostic value in the occurrence of acute rejection. However, the plasma and urine monitoring of BKV load beyond 6 months , not appear to exclude the relationsheep between these two

Objective:The effectiveness of adjuvant treatments for resected gallbladder carcinoma(GBC)has remained unclear due to lack of randomized controlled trials;thus,the aim of present study was to evaluate the role of adjuvant treatments,including chemoradiotherapy(CRT)and/or chemotherapy(CTx),in patients with resected ***:A total of 733 GBC patients who received curative-intent surgical resection were identified in a multi-institutional *** 733 patients,372(50.8%)did not receive adjuvant treatment,whereas 215(29.3%)and 146(19.9%)received adjuvant CTx and CRT,*** locoregional recurrence-free survival(LRFS),recurrence-free survival(RFS),and overall survival(OS)of the adjuvant treatment groups were compared according to tumor stage(stage II *** III–IV).Results:In stage II disease(n=381),the 5-year LRFS,RFS,and OS were not significantly different among the no-adjuvant therapy,CTx,and CRT groups,and positive resection margin,presence of perineural invasion,and nx classification were consistently associated with worse LRFS,RFS,and OS in the multivariate analysis(Pn=352),the CRT group had significantly higher 5-year LRFS,RFS,and OS than the no-adjuvant therapy and CTx groups(67.8%,45.2%,and 56.9%;37.9%,28.8%,and 35.4%;and 45.0%,30.0%,and 45.7%,respectively)(Pnclusions:CRT has value as adjuvant treatment for resected GBC with stage III–IV *** study is needed for stage II disease with high-risk features.

Electrophysiological correlates of cognitive inhibition in college students with schizotypal traits

Objective: We investigated cognitive inhibition in non-clinical individuals with schizotypal traits using event-related potentials. Methods: College students with psychometrically defined schizotypal traits (n = 16) and normal controls (n = 15) participated. The computerized Stroop task with three types of stimuli, i.e., congruent, incongruent, and neutral words, was used to measure cognitive inhibition. Results: The schizotypal-trait group committed significantly more errors in response to incongruent words than did the control group. The control group showed frontal negativity (Fn) of significantly greater amplitude in response to incongruent than to congruent and neutral stimuli, whereas the schizotypal-trait group showed no significant difference in Fn amplitude between incongruent and congruent/neutral stimuli at 300 - 400 ms poststimulus. A source localization analysis conducted in different waveforms for incongruent minus congruent conditions at 300-400 ms poststimulus showed reduced activation in the left cingulate cortex and in the middle/medial prefrontal cortex in the schizotypal-trait group compared with the control group. The two groups did not differ in the sustained potential amplitudes observed at 550-650 ms after stimulus-onset at parietal sites. Conclusions: These results suggest that individuals with schizotypal traits have difficulties in conflict detection and cognitive inhibition, possibly mediated by the cingulate cortex and prefrontal cortex.

Complex pattern of colon cancer recurrence including a kidney metastasis: A case report

We report a case of a 77-year-old female with a local recurrence of cancer after right hemicolectomy which infiltrated the pancreatic head affording pancreatoduodenectomy, who developed 3 years later recurrent tumor masses localized in the mesentery of the jejunum and in the lower pole of the left kidney. Partial nephrectomy and a segment resection of the small bowel were performed. Histological examination of both specim.ns revealed a necrotic metastasis of the primary carcinoma of the colon. Although intraluminal implantation of colon cancer cells in the renal pelvic mucosa from ureteric metastasis has been described, metastasis of a colorectal cancer in the kidney parenchyma is extremely rare and can be treated in an organ preserving manner. A complex pattern of colon cancer recurrence with unusual and rare sites of metastasis is reported.

Influenza epidemics frequently and unpredictably break out all over the world,and seriously affect the breeding industry and human *** and live attenuated viruses have been used as protective vaccines but exhibit high risks for *** vaccines enjoy high biosafety and specificity but have a few weak points compared to inactivated virus or live attenuated virus vaccines,especially in low *** this study,we developed a new subunit vaccine platform for a potent,adjuvant-free,and multivalent *** ectodomains of hemagglutinins(HAs)of influenza viruses were expressed in plants as trimers(tHAs)to mimic their native *** in plant extracts were directly used without purification for binding to inactivated Lactococcus(iLact)to produce iLact-tHAs,an antigen-carrying bacteria-like particle(BLP).tHAs BLP showed strong immune responses in mice and chickens without ***,simultaneous injection of two different antigens by two different formulas,t^(HAH5n6+H9n2) BLP or a combination of t^(HAH5n6) BLP and t^(HAH9n2) BLP,led to strong immune responses to both *** on these results,we propose combinations of plant-based antigen production and BLP-based delivery as a highly potent and cost-effective platform for multivalent vaccination for subunit vaccines.

Oligodendroglia and neurotrophic factors in neurodegeneration

Myelination by oligodendroglial cells （OLs） enables the propagation of action potentials along neuronal axons, which is essential for rapid information flow in the central nervous system. Besides saltatory conduction, the myelin sheath also protects axons against inflammatory and oxidative insults. Loss of myelin results in axonal damage and ultimately neuronal loss in demyelinating disorders. However, accumulating evidence indicates that OLs also provide support to neurons via mechanisms beyond the insulating function of myelin. More im- portantly, an increasing volume of reports indicates defects of OLs in numerous neurodegenerative diseases, sometimes even preceding neuronal loss in pre-symptomatic episodes, suggesting that OL pathology may be an important mechanism contributing to the initiation and/or progression of neurodegeneration. This review fo- cuses on the emerging picture of neuronal support by OLs in the pathogenesis of neurodegenerative disorders through diverse molecular and cellular mechanisms, including direct neuron-myelin interaction, metabolic sup- port by OLs, and neurotrophic factors produced by and/or acting on OLs.

A solids mixing rate correlation for small scale fluidized beds

A new first degree solids mixing rate is proposed to evaluate the mixing of solids in small scale Iluidized beds. Particle mixing experim.nts were carried out in a 2D fluidized bed with a cross-section of 0.02 m × 0.2 m and a height of im. white and black particles with average diameters of 850 and 450 μm were used in our experim.nts. image processing was used to measure the concentration of the tracers at different times. The effects of four representative operating parameters （superficial gas velocity, ratio of tracer particles to bed particles, tracer particle position, and particle size） on mixing are discussed with reference to the mixing index. We found that the Lacey index depends on the concentration of the tracers, The position of the tracers affects the initial mixing rate but not the final degree of mixing. However, the new mixing rate equation does not depend on the initial configuration of the particles because this situation is considered to be the initial condition. Using the data obtained in this work and that found in literature, an empirical correlation is proposed to evaluate the mixing rate constant as a function of dim.nsionless numbers （Archimedes, Reynolds, and Froude） in small scale fluidized beds. This correlation allows for an estimation of the mixing rate under different operating conditions and for the detection of the end point and/or the time of mixing.
