Detection of weld defects using real-time monitoring and controlling algorithm is of the significant task in manufacturing industries due to the increased production and liability costs that result when weld defects are not identified early in the production *** and controlling for robotic arc welding process employed should be reliable,flexible and cost-effective in non-clean,high-volume production ***,the robotic welding system has been utilized a complex jigging and mechanical devices to move the workpiece which related to the stationary welding head for getting higher efficiency and lower *** develop the fully robotic welding system,people make use of their senses of sound and/or sight to collect welding information,and take the necessary corrective measurements to ensure the weld quality after processing is ***,it is really required that the monitoring and controlling algorithm of sensors for increasing effectiveness in the robotic welding process has been *** this paper,bead-on-plate welding using an infrared thermography in the robotic GMA(Gas Metal Arc)welding process has been performed to study the effects of welding parameters on thermal profile characteristics and find the optimal offset distance which applied for monitoring and controlling of welding quality such as bead *** analysis for correlation between temperature distributions at three offset distance and bead height which based on the regression analysis such as Standard Error of Estimate(SEE),the coefficient of correlation(R)and coefficient of determination(R2)and(Predictive Ability of Model)has been *** infra-red sensor is useful for monitoring the isotherm radii that arise during the robotic welding process and identifying bead height as welding quality.

The antioxidant and anticorrosive effect of Tragia involucrate L.(T. involucrate L.) was evaluated to aid in finding new compounds which can be used for various purposes. The total phenolic(TPC) and flavonoid content(TFC),antioxidant activity(DPPH, reducing potential and phosphomolybdenum), and electrochemical measurements,Fourier transform infrared(FT-IR), UV–visible(UV–vis) spectral analysis, scanning electron microscopy/energydispersive X-ray spectroscopy(SEM–EDX) and atomic force microscopy(AFM) were done to analyze the potency and also the inhibition efficiency of T. involucrate L. against 1 mol·L^(-1) HCl on low carbon steel. The TPC(145.21 mg GAE·g^(-1)), TFC(52.32 mg QCE·g^(-1)) and antioxidant activities were found to be significant. The electrochemical studies performed by AC impedance measurements showed significant changes in impedance spectra without causing any change in Nyquist plots. An increase in charge transfer resistance(Rct) values, a blockage in active sites exhibiting cathodic and anodic inhibition shows the action of inhibitor on low carbon steel. This was later confirmed by FT-IR and UV–vis which showed variation in absorption band at 270 nm and273 nm(before immersion) and 208 and 281 nm(after immersion). The same was tested again by SEM–EDX through altered strength of iron and oxygen bands and using AFM by analyzing the change in average roughness values of low carbon steel before(61.65 nm) and after(97.87 nm) exposure to blank acid without inhibitor, while it was shifted to 81.58 nm in acid with inhibitor. All these results showed strong evidence adding values to T. involucrate L. plant extract in inhibiting corrosion on low carbon steel and by promoting antioxidant importance of the extract which helps in scavenging free radicals.

BACKGROUND Recently reported cases of pyogenic liver abscess associated with colonic cancer in the absence of underlying disease,have included a small number of cases of gastric heterotopia(GHT).GHT is a congenital anomaly composed of ectopic gastric mucosa and can occur anywhere in the gastrointestinal tract but is more frequently encountered in the cervical ***,it is rarely observed in ***,most reported cases of GHT of the colon involved the rectum,and GHT involving the colon proximal to the rectum is *** SUMMARY An 83-year-old male patient presented with fever and a diagnosis of pyogenic liver *** was performed for colon cancer workup and revealed a 1.0 cm sized polyp at the transverse *** polyp was removed by endoscopic mucosal resection by monopolar electrocauterization using a *** examination revealed *** administering intravenous antibiotics,the patient recovered *** GHT in the colon could affect the development of pyogenic liver abscess by enabling hematogenous propagation of Klebsiella pneumoniae through mucosal ***,more study is needed due to the lack of cases.

Catechin,one of the main components of green tea,is considered to have the remedy effect of arsenic poison,although the chemical mechanism is not well *** this study,sodium（meta）selenite,which is used as herbicide and insecticide as well as rodenticide,was simply mixed with catechin in the CH3OH/H2O（volume ratio 50∶50）solution to investigate the interaction between toxic inorganic arsenic compound and catechin via ESI tandem mass *** interaction products of mono-methylated arsenic with catechin in the presence of methanol were identified in the negative *** induced dissociation（CID）mass spectrometric measurements indicate that monomethylated arsenic was ＂alkylated＂ strongly by conjugation at the sites of C2＇ and C5＇ in the phenyl ring B of the *** interaction mechanism between sodium（meta）arsenite and catechin was *** results provide useful information to understand the chemical pathway of the detoxification of the arsenic toxicity by catechin.

Miscanthus,is a promising bioenergy crop,considered superior to other bioenergy crops because of its higher water and nutrient use efficiency,cold tolerance,and higher production of *** weeds and grass weeds,cause major problems in the Miscanthus field.A field experiment was conducted in 2018 and 2019,to assess the effects of pre-emergence(alachlor and napropamide)and post-emergence herbicides(nicosulfuron,dicamba,bentazon,and glufosinate ammonium)on broadleaf and grass weeds in *** and *** *** weed control efficiency and phytotoxicity of pre-and post-emergence herbicides were evaluated at 30 days after treatment(DAT)and compared to those of the control *** results showed wide variations in the susceptibility of the weed species to the treated *** with nicosulfuron 40 ***^(-1) provided the most effective overall weed control(with 10%visual injury),without affecting the height and biomass of neither Miscanthus species in the ***-emergence herbicides such as glufosinate ammonium 400 ***^(-1) and dicamba 482 ***^(-1) were effective and inhibited the growth and density of the majority of weeds to a 100%;however,they showed significant phytotoxicity(toxicity scale of 1-10)to both species of *** application of glufosinate ammonium caused severe injuries to the foliar region(90%visual injury)of both Miscanthus ***,*** showed a slightly higher tolerance to the herbicides nicosulfuron,bentazon and napropamide with 10%visual injury at the recommended dose than *** present study clearly showed that infestation of broadleaf and grass weeds in Miscanthus fields can cause significant damage to the growth and biomass of Miscanthus and applying pre-emergence and post-emergence herbicides effectively controls the high infestation of these weeds.

Dear Editor,As the overall survival rate of cancer patients has been increasing,an increasing number of patients are experiencing septic shock,and the corresponding mortality rate is becoming unacceptably high[1].Among cases of organ failure caused by septic shock,the development of acute kidney injury(AKI)is known to be common and correlated with poor outcomes[2].Moreover,a large Danish cohort study revealed that critically ill patients with cancer had a greater risk of AKI and requirement of renal replacement therapy(RRT)compared to patients without cancer[3].Adverse outcomes dramatically increase in patients with severe AKI who received RRT,and a recent survey in China reported that the hospital mortality rate for this population was up to 80%[4].

Primary signet ring cell carcinoma of the colorectum detected at an early stage is very rare; most cases are detected at an advanced stage. Therefore, its progno-sis is poorer than that of ordinary colorectal cancer. A 56-year-old Korean man was seen at this hospital for management of signet ring cell carcinoma of the co-lon. Colonoscopic examination revealed a Ⅱa-like, ill-defined and flatly elevated 9-mm residual tumor in the cecum. Endoscopic mucosal resection was preformed. Pathological examination of the resected specimen re-vealed signet ring cell carcinoma that had invaded the lamina propria without venous or perineural invasion. Abdominal computed tomography (CT) and positron CT showed no evidence of primary lesions or distant me-tastasis. An additional laparoscopic right-hemicolectomy was performed; no residual tumor or lymph node me-tastasis was found. We report a case of primary signet ring cell carcinoma of the colon detected at an early stage and provide a review of the literature.

The University-City Interface: Plazas and Boulevards

In this study, several applications based on multimedia signal processing are introduced. The first study aims at improving the quality of life of the elderly with a dementia. For this purpose, we developed the communication aid system that consisted of three modules such as speech recognition engine, graphical agent, and database classified by a nursing schedule. The system was evaluated in an actual environment of nursing facilities and the evaluation results revealed that the proposed system was more responsive for the demands of subject than professional caregivers. Moreover, we could see that the frequency of causing the utterances of subject increased by using the system. The second study presents the approach of identifying five different human emotional states that are extracted from the signals of voices and facial expressions. For recognizing emotions from vocal signals, we used the prosodic parameters such as pitch signals, energy, and their derivatives, which were then trained to recognize by hidden Markov models （HMMs）. For recognizing facial expressions, on the other hands, we used the feature parameters extracted from thermal and visible images, and these parameters were then trained to recognize by neural networks （NNs）. The recognition results showed that the integrated method using voices and facial expressions gave better performance than any isolated methods. The final application is based on the user-customized interaction using speech recognition, face and fingerprint verification, for intelligent home environments. For essential modules, the speech recognition and synthesis were basically used for a virtual interaction between user and the proposed system. In experiments, particularly, the real-time speech recognizer based on the HM-Net （Hidden Markov Network） was incorporated into the proposed system. Besides, the face and fingerprint verification were adopted to customize home environments for a specific user. In evaluation, the results show

It has become an increased challenge for designers to define the boundaries between the university and its surrounding city. The amount of space serving as a nexus between universities and urban areas is gradually increasing. This study defines such intermediate spaces as “the university-city interface”—areas that influence the university’s physical and functional connection to the surrounding city. The research presents comparative case studies of three universities in urban contexts—Harvard University, University of Pennsylvania, and Université Catholique de Louvain— by analyzing plazas and boulevards. These representative open spaces provide interfaces for both the university campuses and their surrounding cities. This paper analyzes design elements from the perspective of campus spatial structure, as well as locations and functions, to develop a comparative checklist for plazas and boulevards. The results offer a set of urban design principles for university plazas and boulevards that could significantly improve the quality of the university-city relationship. While these checklists and principles may vary depending on circumstances, they can be useful starting points for initializing design processes.
