Following the worldwide trend of developing heavy metal free materials, dental implants aren’t out of this tendency. Over the years, a number of techniques to condition the surface of dental implants have been designed and used such as oxide blasting, however the scientific medical community has been concerned about the use of these heavy metals which leads us to investigate and develop new conditioning techniques. The aim of the study was the analysis of the Systhex® implant surface in automatic system for the treatment of the surface with acid, where we can identify the surfaces purity level, pore size, deepness and especially the roughness proportionated by the technology of acid conditioning on the titanium surfaces of degree IV dental implants. We conclude that the automatic conditioning of acid attack promoted cleanliness, homogeneity and ideal roughness for the osseointegration process.

In this study,vine pruning wastes(VPW)were used as raw material to develop an alternative activated carbon(VPW-AC)for adsorbing and concentrating rare earth elements cerium(Ce(Ⅲ))and lanthanum(La(Ⅲ))from synthetic and real leachate *** Ce and La adsorption studies evaluated the effects of VPW-AC dosage,pH,contact time,rare earth initial concentration,and *** VPW-AC adsorbent was subjected to many physicochemical characterization methods to correlate and understand its adsorptive *** characterization data indicate a carbonaceous adsorbent with a specific surface area of 467 m^(2)/*** potential indicates a material with a negatively charged surface at a pH higher than 3.1,which is extremely beneficial to cations *** both rare earths elements(REEs),the adsorption capacity increases with the increase of the pH,reaching its maximum at pH *** kinetic data are well fitted by Avrami-fractional o rder,while the Liu model agreeably fits equilibrium *** maximum adsorption capacities for Ce(Ⅲ)and La(Ⅲ)are 48.45 and 53.65 mg/g at 298 K,*** thermodynamic studies suggest that the adsorption process is favorable,spontaneous,and exothermic for both *** filling,surface complexation,and ion exchange are the dominant ***,the VPW-AC was subjected to the recovery of REEs from real phosphogypsum leachate,and it is proved that it can be successfully used to recover REEs in a real process.

Chitin powder and chitin-aerogel were prepared from shrimp wastes and used to uptake Y^(3+)from aqueous solutions and concentrate this rare earth element from phosphogypsum(PG).Chitin aerogel displays a specific surface area of 945 m^(2)/g,while chitin powder is 3.6 m^(2)/g,which largely influences its adsorption *** the adsorption in synthetic solutions,the effect of pH on Y^(3+)removal is strong for chitin powder *** contrast,no big pH influence was detected for chitin *** interactions and chelation can highlight the proposed mechanism of Y^(3+)on chitin adsorbents for the powder and ***,in addition to these interactions,pore filling/pore diffusion is the main mechanism of Y^(3+)removal in the chitin *** aerogel is efficient in concentrating 8 times the Y^(3+)from PG,a very complex *** complex chitin aerogel-Y^(3+)can be a secondary source of rare earth elements for other applications.

Origanum vulgare L. (oregano) and Rosmarinus officinalis L. (rosemary) are vegetal species belonging to the family Lamiaceae, popularly known as oregano and rosemary. Aromatic plants are used in the treatment and prevention of diseases and in the culinary as functional food in the preparation and conservation of foods. In the chemical composition of oregano and rosemary are present bioactive compounds with antimicrobial, antioxidant and flavoring effect. Several reports in the literature have presented the chemical composition and biological activity of the essential oils of oregano and rosemary. However, few studies have been carried out regarding the chemical composition and biological potential of the aqueous and ethanolic extracts of Origanum vulgare L. and Rosmarinus officinalis L. Gastric ulcers affect many people around the world and their development is a result of the imbalance between aggressive and protective factors in the gastric *** buxifolia,commonly known as coronilha,has attracted the interest of the scientific community due to its pharmacological properties and its potential therapeutic *** this study,the preventive effects of the crude extract of Scutia buxifolia(ceSb)against gastric ulcer induced by 70%ethanol were evaluated in male Wistar *** addition,the composition of ceSb was clarified by high-performance liquid chromato-graphy(HPLC).*** extract(100,200 and 400 mg/kg body weight)attenuated oxidative and histopathological features induced by ***,all evaluated doses of ceSb caused significant(Pdation produced by *** protective effect of the extract could be attributed to antioxidant compounds present in the ceSb,such as flavonoids and phenolic acids,which were quantified by ***,an antioxidant effect of the extract leads to a protection on gastric *** results indicate that *** could have a beneficial role against ethanol toxicity by preventing oxidative stress and gastric tissue injury.
