To the Editor:We read with great interest the recent article by Zhu et al.[1].In the study,the authors analyzed the outcomes of 26 patients diagnosed with hepatic artery occlusion(HAO)and treated with an endovascular approach(EVT)within the first 30 days after ortho-topic liver transplantation(LT).The median interval from LT to EVT was 7 days,most patients were treated with angioplasty and only two(7.7%)needed stent *** authors should be congrat-ulated as they achieved a 100%of success rate with an 80.8%of 1-year survival rate.

The methanol-to-olefin （mTO） reaction was investigated in a bench-scale, fixed-bed reactor using an extruded catalyst composed of a commercial SAPO-34 （65 weight percentage, wt-%） embedded in an amorphous SiO2 matrix （35 wt-%）. The texture properties, acidity and crystal structure of the pure SAPO-34 and its extruded form （E-SAPO-34） were analyzed and the results indicated that the extrusion step did not affect the properties of the catalyst. Subsequently, E-SAPO-34 was tested in a temperature range between 300 and 500 ~C, using an aqueous methanol mixture （80 wt-% water content） fed at a weight hour space velocity （WHSV） of 1.21 h-1. At 300 ~C, a low conversion was observed combined with the catalyst deactivation, which was ascribed to oligomeriza-tion and condensation reactions. The coke analysis showed the presence of diamandoid hydrocarbons, which are known to be inactive molecules in the mTO process. At higher temperatures, a quasi-steady state was reached during a 6 h reaction where the optimal temperature was identified at 450℃, which incidentally led to the lowest coke deposition combined with the highest H/C ratio. Above 450℃, surges of ethylene and methane were associated to a combination of H-transfer and protolytic cracking reactions. Finally, the present work underscored the convenience of the extrusion technique for testing catalysts at simulated scale-up conditions.

Purpose: The objective of the present study was to determine whether a denervated muscle extract(DmEx) could stimulate satellite cell response in denervated ***: Wistar rats were divided into 4 groups: normal rats, normal rats treated with DmEx, denervated rats, and denervated rats treated with DmEx. The soleus muscles were examined using immunohistochemical techniques for proliferating cell nuclear antigen, desmin, and myogenic differentiation antigen(myoD), and electron microscopy was used for analysis of the satellite ***: The results indicate that while denervation causes activation of satellite cells, DmEx also induces myogenic differentiation of cells localized in the interstitial space and the formation of new muscle fibers. Although DmEx had a similar effect in nature on innervated and denervated muscles, this response was of greater magnitude in denervated vs. intact ***: Our study shows that treatment of denervated rats with DmEx potentiates the myogenic response in atrophic denervated muscles.

Background： The radical hysterectomy （RH） surgical technique has improved along the years. It is used for the treatment of cervical cancer, endometrial cancer when affecting the cervix, and upper vaginal carcinomas. Our aim was to describe the historical evolution of the technique after the introduction of laparoseopy at our institution. methods： We performed a retrospective review of medical records of patients who underwent RH, grouped in three periods according to the year of surgery： 1990-1999, 2000-2009 and 2010-2013. Patients＇ characteristics, pathologic details, intraoperative and postoperative complications were analyzed and comoared throughout the time periods. Results： A total of 102 cases of RH were performed at our center during the study period. Among all data collected, the presence of necrosis, age, number of lymph nodes, surgery route, operating time, hospital stay, blood loss and transfusion requirement were statistically significant different among groups. Conversion to laparotomy rate was 19% for the second period compared to the absence of cases in the last one. No significant differences （P=0.124） were observed in the adjuvant treatment received among the three different groups. At the time of the last contact the patients free of disease were 12 （85.7%）, 53 （91.3%） and 26 （86.6%） respectively （P=0.406）. Regarding the disease-free interval, we found significant better outcomes in the group of laparotomy compared to laparoscopy （P=0.015）.Conclusions： Laparoscopic RH is an acceptable surgery with advantages like magnified vision of the operation＇s field, lower surgical complications, shorter hospital stay and earlier resumption to daily activities.
