Fire resistance evaluation through synthetic fire tests and generative adversarial networks

This paper introduces a machine learning approach to address the challenge of limited data resulting from costly and time-consuming fire experiments by enlarging small fire test data sets and predicting the fire resistance of reinforced concrete *** approach begins by creating deep learning models,namely generative adversarial networks and variational autoencoders,to learn the spatial distribution of real fire *** then use these models to generate synthetic tabular samples that closely resemble realistic fire resistance values for reinforced concrete *** generated data are employed to train state-of-the-art machine learning techniques,including Extreme Gradient Boost,Light Gradient Boosting Machine,Categorical Boosting Algorithm,Support Vector Regression,Random Forest,Decision Tree,Multiple Linear Regression,Polynomial Regression,Support Vector Machine,Kernel Support Vector Machine,naive Bayes,and K-nearest neighbors,which can predict the fire resistance of the columns through regression and *** learning analyses achieved highly accurate predictions of fire resistance values,outperforming traditional models that relied solely on limited experimental *** study highlights the potential for using machine learning and deep learning analyses to revolutionize the field of structural engineering by improving the accuracy and efficiency of fire resistance evaluations while reducing the reliance on costly and time-consuming experiments.

Morphometry and Mineral Content in the Seeds and Soil of Two Species of Argemone L.(Papaveraceae)in the Central Part of the Chihuahuan Desert

The genus Argemone L.(Papaveraceae)is found widely distributed in Mexico’s Chihuahuan Desert(CD).Some species of this genus are of phytochemical or ethnobotanical *** are inedible plants considered as *** date they have not been broadly studied;thus,their ecology is,to our knowledge,*** present work was centered around carrying out a morphometric analysis and the determination of minerals in the soil and seeds of the wild populations of Argemone at sites belonging to two ecoregions of the CD in *** April 2021 and April 2022,seeds of Argemone spp.,and soil samples were collected at 10 sites of the *** seeds were selected under a randomized design,and weight,length,diameter,thickness,buoyancy,and mineral content were *** soil samples were obtained under the Mexican regulation nOM-021-RECnAT-2000,and determinations of mineral content,electrical conductivity,apparent density,and soluble anions were *** information obtained was grouped by variable,species,and place of *** statistical tests consisted of an AnOVA,Tukey means tests considering p≤0.05,and a Principal Components *** pleiacantha exhibited differences in terms of weight(F=54.79,p=0.001),length(F=90.83,p=0.001),thickness(F=104.89,p=0.001),and diameter(F=155.82,p=0.001),and the differences in Argemone mexicana were in weight(F=46.71,p=0.001),thickness(F=187.49,p=0.001),length(F=191.56,p=0.001),and diameter(F=215.83,p=0.001).The evaluated seeds reached their maximal imbibition velocity at 24 h of *** content of the micro-and macro-nutrients analyzed in the seeds and soil suggest a tight relation with the morphometric characteristics of the seeds.

Mapping global research trends: nutrition associations with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease - a Scopus bibliometric analysis

BACKGROUnD Several bibliometric analyses have been carried out to identify research hotspots and trends in nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(nAFLD)***,there are still significant knowledge gaps that must be filled to advance our understanding of and ability to treat *** To evaluate,through bibliometric and visual analysis,the current status of related research,related research frontiers,and the developmental trends in the field of diet and *** We retrieved publications about diet and nAFLD published between 1987 and 2022 from ***,we used VOSviewer 1.6.20 to perform bibliometric analysis and *** We found a total of 1905 studies,including 1637(85.93%)original articles and 195(10.24%)reviews,focused on the examination of nAFLD and its correlation with diet that were published between 1987 and *** the remaining five types of documents,38 were letters,notes,editorials,meeting minutes,or brief surveys,representing 1.99%of the total *** countries with the most publications on this topic were China(n=539;28.29%),followed by the United States(n=379;19.90%),Japan(n=133;6.98%),and South Korea(n=127;6.6%).According to the citation analysis,the retrieved papers were cited an average of 32.3 times and had an h-index of 106,with 61014 total *** two main clusters on the map included those related to:(1)Inflammation and oxidative stress;and(2)Dietary interventions for *** This was the first study to use data taken from Scopus to visualize network mapping in a novel bibliometric analysis of studies focused on diet and *** 2017,the two domains that received the most attention were“dietary interventions for nAFL”’and“‘inflammation and oxidative stress implicated in nAFLD and its correlation with diet.”We believe that this study provides important information for academics,dietitians,and doctors,and that additional research on dietary interventions and nAFLD is warranted.

Transverse momentum balance of dijets in Xe+Xe collisions at the LHC

We present a theoretical study of the medium modifications of the p_(T)balance (x_(J)) of dijets in Xe+Xe collisions at■.The initial production of dijets was carried out using the POWHEG+PYTHIA8 prescription,which matches the next-toleading-order (nLO) QCD matrix elements with the parton shower (PS) *** SHELL model described the in-medium evolution of nucleus–nucleus collisions using a transport *** theoretical results of the dijet xJin the Xe+Xe collisions exhibit more imbalanced distributions than those in the p+p collisions,consistent with recently reported ATLAS *** utilizing the Interleaved Flavor neutralisation,an infrared-and-collinear-safe jet flavor algorithm,to identify the flavor of the reconstructed jets,we classify dijets processes into three categories:gluon–gluon (gg),quark–gluon (qg),and quark–quark (qq),and investigated the respective medium modification patterns and fraction changes of the gg,qg,and qq components of the dijet sample in Xe+Xe *** is shown that the increased fraction of qg component at a small x_(J)contributes to the imbalance of the dijet;in particular,the q_(1)g_(2)(quark-jet-leading) dijets experience more significant asymmetric energy loss than the g_(1)q_(2)(gluon-jet-leading) dijets traversing the *** comparing the■of inclusive,■ dijets in Xe+Xe collisions,we observe■.Moreover,ρ_(Xe),P_(b),the ratios of the nuclear modification factors of dijets in Xe+Xe to those in Pb+Pb,were calculated,which indicates that the yield suppression of dijets in Pb+Pb is more pronounced than that in Xe+Xe owing to the larger radius of the lead nucleus.

Over the past century,ferroelectricity has offered exciting opportunities for fundamental research and device ***,most of the discovered excellent ferroelectrics are oxide materials with large band gaps,limiting their potential for optoelectronics *** using first-principles calculations we identify a new narrow-gap ferroelectric beyond oxides,i.e.,ferroelectric perovskite sulphide BaZrS_(3).Under large compressive strains,BaZrS_(3)can be stabilized into a unique supertetragonal phase with an extraordinary polarization of 67.16μC/cm^(2),which is even stronger than that of conventional oxide ***,the supertetragonal BaZrS_(3)exhibits a direct narrow band gap of 1.2 eV and excellent electronic *** on the chemical bonding analysis,we attribute the formation of supertetragonal phase to charge re-ordering in which theπbond overlap along the long〈Zr-S〉bond completely vanishes and the antibonding states of theσbond appear below the Fermi *** work provides a conceptual strategy for designing new ferroelectrics for electronic and photovoltaic applications.

Perianal disease in inflammatory bowel disease:Broadening treatment and surveillance strategies for anal cancer

The perianal disease affects up to one-third of individuals with Crohn's disease(CD),causing disabling symptoms and significant impairment in quality of life,particularly for those with perianal fistulising CD(PFCD).The collaborative effort between gastroenterologists and surgeons is essential for addressing PFCD to achieve fistula closure and promote luminal *** fistula healing rates with conventional therapies have prompted the emergence of new biological agents,endoscopic procedures and surgical techniques that show promising *** these,mesenchymal stem cells injection is a particularly hopeful *** addition to the burden of fistulas,individuals with perianal CD may face an increased risk of developing anal *** underscores the importance of surveillance programmes and timely interventions to prevent late diagnoses and poor ***,there is no established formal anal screening *** this review,we provide an overview of the current state of the art in managing PFCD,including novel medical,endoscopic and surgical *** discussion also focuses on the relevance of establishing an anal cancer screening programme in CD,intending to propose a risk-based surveillance *** validation of this surveillance programme would be a significant step forward in improving patient care and outcomes.
