Reversible protonic ceramic cells(RePCCs)hold promise for efficient energy storage,but their practicality is hindered by a lack of high-performance air electrode ***-Popper perovskite Sr_(3)Fe_(2)O_(7−δ)(SF)exhibits superior proton uptake and rapid ionic conduction,boosting ***,excessive proton uptake during RePCC operation degrades SF’s crystal structure,impacting *** study introduces a novel A/B-sites co-substitution strategy for modifying air electrodes,incorporating Sr-deficiency and Nb-substitution to create Sr_(2.8)Fe_(1.8)Nb_(0.2)O_(7−δ)(D-SFN).Nb stabilizes SF’s crystal,curbing excessive phase formation,and Sr-deficiency boosts oxygen vacancy concentration,optimizing oxygen *** D-SFN electrode demonstrates outstanding activity and durability,achieving a peak power density of 596 mW cm^(−2)in fuel cell mode and a current density of−1.19 A cm^(−2)in electrolysis mode at 1.3 V,650℃,with excellent cycling *** approach holds the potential for advancing robust and efficient air electrodes in RePCCs for renewable energy storage.

EndNotecitation manager version X9.3.3 and Reference Citation Analysis (RCA) were used to remove theduplicated studies and manage the citation *** overall pooled prevalence of human leishmaniasis in Sudan was 21% (with confidence interval12%-30%). CL was the most common type of leishmaniasis in Sudan, with a pooled prevalence of26% followed by VL (18%). Nevertheless, the pooled prevalence of human leishmaniasis in Sudanwas higher in males compared with females (60% vs 40%). Contamination of soil with cryptosporidial oocysts poses a great health risk to people especially in individuals who are immune-compromised. Exposure to contaminated soil can cause diarrhoea in humans especially in children who play around the parks and may not wash their hands before handling food. The prevalence of cryptosporidial oocyst in soils of 4 recreational parks in Abuja, Nigeria was investigated. Four hundred soil samples were collected from various locations within the recreational parks and examined for the presence of cryptosporidial oocyst using modified acid fast staining technique. In nine (2.3%) of the samples, 8 were from park A and 1 was from park B contained cryptosporidial oocyst. There was significant association (χ2 = 20.1;df = 2;p = 0.00004) between prevalence of Cryptosporidium oocysts and level of hygiene of the parks. It was concluded that soil in recreational parks may be a source of infection with Cryptosporidium oocysts.

Objective:This research is to investigate the antihyperglycaemic activity and the underlying mechanisms of action of the ethylacetate extract of Chlorophytum alismifolium(EACA)tubers in a type 2 diabetes ***:The tubers were processed and sequentially extracted in hexane followed by ethylacetate,using a Soxhlet apparatus,and subjected to gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC–MS).The acute toxicity of EACA was investigated in albino Wistar *** antihyperglycaemic study was carried out using high-fat diet(pelletized diet and margarine in the ratio of 10:1 and 20%fructose solution)and streptozotocin-induced hyperglycaemic Wistar *** effects of the extract(150,300 and 600 mg/kg)on blood glucose level,insulin,peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-c(PPAR-c)and dipeptidyl peptidase-4(DPP-4)were evaluated using enzyme-linked immunosorbent ***:The oral median lethal dose in Wistar rats was estimated to be>5000 mg/*** with EACA at all doses significantly reduced the fasting blood glucose levels,compared to the hyperglycaemic control,and over *** of EACA increased the serum insulin and PPAR-c levels while decreasing DPP-4 ***–MS analysis revealed the presence of 13 compounds,with isothiazole and isoxazolidine covering total area of 24.6%and 22.69%,***:The findings from this study showed that EACA has important compounds with beneficial effect in type 2 diabetes and acts by increasing insulin secretion and PPAR-c level and decreasing DPP-4 activity.

Objective:To investigate thein vitroandin vivoeffect of whole plant extracts ofPeristrophe bicalyculataonTrypanosoma brucei brucei-infected ***:The experiment wasdivided into two phases:In the first phase,the anti-trypanosomal activity of the hot water,cold water,methanol and butanol extracts of the whole plant were determined by incubatingwithTrypanosoma brucei *** cold water extract was partially-purified and the anti-trypanosomal activity of the fractions *** the second phase,Trypanosoma brucei brucei-infected rats were treated with fraction 2c for nine *** cell volume(PCV),highdensity lipoprotein(HDL),low density lipoprotein(LDL),total cholesterol(TC),triacylglycerol(TAG),aspartate aminotransferase,alanine aminotransferases(ALT),alkaline phosphatase(ALP),total and direct bilirubin levels were determined at the end of the ***:Cold water extract immobilized 90%of the parasites after 60 min of incubation,and fraction 2ccompletely immobilized the parasites after 35 *** significantly increased PCV inTrypanosoma brucei brucei-infected *** TC,TAG,HDL and LDL levels of infected rats increasedsignificantly when rats were treated with the fraction,while elevated levels of total bilirubinand ALT also *** difference in urea,direct bilirubin and ALP was not significantwhen infected rats were compared to rats in other ***:The ability of the plantto ameliorate the infection-induced biochemical changes calls for detailed investigation of thepotentials of the plant for antitrypanosomiasis drug delivery.

The concept of circular economy has gained recognition as a way to manage waste and conserve resources sustainably,and has the potential to transform the construction *** is particularly relevant in the construction industry due to the significant amounts of waste generated during the construction and demolition *** study examines the perceived importance and effectiveness of strategies related to the circular economy in the construction *** data were collected through a survey administered to professionals in the construction sector,capturing their perceptions of various *** results reveal that most strategies received high mean ratings,indicating their perceived *** such as waste management and recycling facilities,design for disassembly,and prioritising the use of renewable and sustainable materials were highly valued by the ***,statistical analyses confirmed the significance of these ***,some strategies received comparatively lower ratings,suggesting the need for further attention and *** findings have important implications for policymakers,industry professionals,and stakeholders,guiding decision-making and resource *** prioritising and implementing the identified strategies,stakeholders can drive the adoption of circular economy principles,enhance resource efficiency,and reduce waste in construction ***,this study lays the foundation for future research,highlighting the importance of exploring barriers to implementation,understanding synergies and trade-offs among strategies,conducting longitudinal studies to assess long-term impact,and broadening the participant pool for a more comprehensive ***,this study contributes to the growing body of knowledge on the circular economy in the construction industry and provides valuable insights for promoting sustainability and circularity within the sector.

Objective:To evaluate the ameliorative effect of melatonin on sub-chronic chlorpyrifos(CPF)and cypermethrin(CYP)-evoked cognitive changes in male Wistar ***:Fifty adult male Wistar rats,divided into five groups of ten rats each,were used for the ***ⅠandⅡwere given distilled water and soya oil(2 ml/kg)***Ⅲwas administered with melatonin at 0.5 mg/kg ***Ⅳwas administered with CPF[7.96 mg/kg(1/10th LD_(50))]and CYP[29.6 mg/kg(1/10th LD_(50))].and Group V was administered with CPF[7.96 mg/kg(1/10th LD_(50)]and CYP[29.6 mg/kg(1/10th LD_(50)]30 min after melatonin(0.5 mg/kg).The regimens were administered by gavage once daily for 12 ***,cognitive performances were determined and the brain was evaluated for malonaldehyde ***:CPF and CYP induced cognitive deficits and increased brain malonaldehyde concentration,which were all ameliorated by ***:Cognitive deficits elicited by CPF and CYP was mitigated by melatonin due to its antioxidant property.
