Uterine Rupture: Epidemiological Aspects, Etiologies and Maternal-Fetal Prognosis in the Obstetric Gynecology Department of the Donka CHU Conakry National Hospital, Guinea

Objectives: The objectives of this work were to calculate the frequency of the uterine rupture, to describe the epidemiological profile, to identify the etiologies and to establish the maternal prognosis and foetal. Methodology: It was about a descriptive survey with compilation of the data in two phases: a retrospective spreading on one period of 6 years and the other forecasting of 1 one year achieved to the service of Obstetric Gynecology of the hospital National Donka, Fallen from Conakry, Guinea. Results: We recorded 24.030 childbirths of which 188 cases of uterine rupture either a frequency of 0.78, which represents an uterine rupture for 128 childbirths. The epidemiological profile was the one of a woman of 24 to 28 years (31.91%), housewives (69.14%), without prenatal follow-up (47.87%), big multipare (37.76%) and évacuées (78.78%). The motives of consultation have been dominated by the hémorragie (95.74%). The rupture was of transverse type in the majority of the case (63.82%). The hysterorraphy was the most performed surgical procedure which is 85.10% followed by the total sub hysterectomy in 10.63%. The newborns of birth weight superior or equal to 4000 g represent 25.53%. The maternal morbidity has been dominated by the anemia of the postpartum (60%). We recorded a rate of maternal létalité of 12.76%. The maternal deaths were due to the hemorrhage in 78.57%. The living newborns endured a respiratory distress in 9.57% and those stillborn represent 87.23%. The etiologies of uterine rupture were dominated by fetal-pelvic disproportions 48.93% followed by an iatrogenic uterine rupture 22.33%. Conclusion: The reduction of this uterine rupture rate would pass by the recentered prenatal consultation offered, the one of obstetric cares and complete néonataux of emergency, the discount to level of the beneficiaries of the basic structures so that they can discover the cases in time susceptible to drag a rupture to evacuate better in time and the promptness in the

Study of the Biochemical Composition of Senegalese Mango Varieties Intended for Export and Local Consumation

Biochemical characterization was carried out on five mango varieties grown in Senegal, two of which are intended for export (Kent and Keitt) and three to local consumption, on the one hand, and to national marketing, on the other. It can be seen that the flavanols composition is between “0.74 ± 0.03 mg/100 g” to “4.70 ± 0.33 mg/100 g” and the total polyphenols composition is “265.83 ± 33.70 mg gallic acid/100 g” to “834.29 ± 25.78 mg gallic acid/100 g”. This analysis shows that the variety Bk is richer in polyphenols followed by the variety Dr then Knt and finally the lowest proportions are noted with the varieties Kt and SL. The analysis of antioxidant activity shows us percentages ranging from “4.16% ± 2.68% inhibition” to “50.21% ± 3.91% inhibition”. It was noted that the SL and Knt varieties give the highest inhibition percentages of “50.21 ± 3.91” and “33.97 ± 0.36” respectively. Variety Bk gives the lowest percentage followed by variety Kt. The Dr variety is the richest in flavonoids “11.75 ± 0.27” followed by the SL variety “11.27 ± 0.10” and the lowest composition is noted in the Knt variety “1.91 ± 0.04”. For total sugars, the most important contents are found in the varieties: Bk “12.71 ± 0.32 mg/100 g” followed by Dr “11.5 ± 0.33 mg/100 g” and SL “9.86 ± 0.06 mg/100 g”. This time the variety Kt stands out with also important proportions. For quantification, there is a slight difference in the values obtained for the different varieties studied. However, the highest values are observed in local varieties: “0.36 ± 0.06 g/100 g” for Bk and Dr followed by SL “0.31 ± 0.01 g/100 g”. The study of the mineral composition shows that the local varieties are the richest and the Knt variety is the poorest. The difference in composition noted within the same variety can be explained by the fact that some varieties have an advanced maturity compared to others.

In the first part of this paper, an analysis of the high-resolution spectrum of the HTO molecule ν1(ν3) band, from 3630 to3950 cm–1, was undertaken. The rotational transition of this band was assigned using combination differences. Their wavenumbers were analyzed with a least squares fit program in order to obtain spectroscopic constants. A perturbed state has been evidenced. In the second part, with a view towards building a spectroscopic data base, a calculation of the dipolar momentum function was undertaken.

Management and Control of a DC Bus Powered by Renewable Energies

This article proposes a method of management and control of a continuous bus powered by renewable energies for autonomous applications. The DC bus is obtained from two systems of renewable sources (the solar system and the wind system) and storage battery (Lithium Ion). The continuous bus control and management procedure require efficiency in the control of the charge and discharge of the battery according to the load energy demand (DC Motor). The battery charging process is non-linear, varying over time with considerable delay, so it is difficult to achieve the best performance on control with energy management using traditional control approaches. A fuzzy control strategy is used in this article for battery control. To improve battery life, fuzzy control manages the desired state of charge (SOC). The entire system designed is modeled and simulated on MATLAB/Simulink Environment.

In our center where a lot of water is used for watering and cleaning the classrooms, the management of wastewater as a resource can be a real opportunity. The main objective of this research is to size and determine the effectiveness of natural treatments of the wastewater treatment system composed of a septic tank and a treatment plant which would be installed in site Ngoundiane of Alioune DiOP University, in Bambey, Senegal. Overall, we noted that the sized septic tank dimensioned in our study allows the efficient settling of wastewater which depends on the flow point ratio and useful settling surface area that must be lower than the upward speed that corresponds to 0.8 m/h. The sizing of the septic tank led us to obtain a useful capacity of 88 m3 and a horizontal surface of 44 m2 with a height of 2 m. The ratio between the flow of the wastewater received and the upward speed is 0.17 m/h and is significantly lower than the recommended speed. In addition, the station will be able to eliminate 80.418% of the Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD), 75.522% of the Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), 92.385% of Suspended Solid (SS) and 43.427% of Nitrogen compounds.

Objectives: The objectives of this article are to: 1) Determine the prevalence of parturient that escapes from the ETME, 2) Determine the rate of acceptability or non-acceptability of the HIV tests, 3) Describe the epidemiological profile and 4) Describe the factors explaining the lack of screening during pregnancy. Methodology: This report is based on an eventual descriptive study carried out in the Maternity Ward at the Ratoma Medical Centre for the past six months. The study took place over six (6) months from June 15 to December 15, 2016. The data were collected by individual interviews using a data collection sheet and prenatal consultation booklet that were administered to parturients in their language of comprehension. Each unscreened parturient received in the delivery room or in immediate postpartum received pre- and post-test HIV/AIDS counseling with immediate announcement of the outcome for all those who accepted the principle. For parturients who were in the active phase of work, counseling/testing was done in the immediate postpartum period. The data were manually collected from the pre-established fact sheets, captured using the Word, Excel and PowerPoint software packages of the 2007 Office and analyzed by the Epi-Info software (version 3.5.4). The limitations of the study were the lack of adequate room for the HIV testing council, the refusal of HIV testing by some parturients and the lack of achievement of CD4 levels in the hospital laboratory. Outcomes: The survey indicated that out of the 41.80% (177/423) of pregnant women that have recently given birth, ignore their HIV status. About 36.90% (66/177) rejected the screening and the 6.4% (7/111) that accepted were HIV/AIDS positive. The epidemiological study revolved around the following categories of women aged between 24 and 33 (42.85%), 1) Married (100%), 2) Housewives (57.14%), 3) Out-of-school (57.14), 4) Lack prenatal follow-up (42.85%), 5) Ignorance of the existence of HIV (71.42%). 种群的空间分布格局和种间关联性的研究对预测群落演替趋势和植被重建具有重要意义。文中以古尔班通古特沙漠东南部三种类型沙丘上的优势灌木种群为研究对象,在0-20m尺度上利用空间点格局分析法,基于均质泊松模型HPP和异质泊松模型IPP,采用单变量相关函数g(r)对三种类型沙丘上的灌木的空间分布格局进行研究。同时,基于完全随机模型CSR和先决条件模型AC,采用双变量g_(12)(r)函数研究了三种沙丘上灌木间的种间关联性。结果表明:1)三种沙丘上的优势灌木在均质泊松模型HPP下以聚集分布为主,在剔除生境异质性后的异质泊松模型IPP下在中小尺度上以聚集分布为主,在较大尺度上以随机分布为主;2)三种沙丘上灌木的聚集强度的大小顺序为:半固定沙丘>流动沙丘>固定沙丘;3)三种沙丘上,大多数灌木之间的种间关联性随着空间尺度的增而减小。其中,固定沙丘上的灌木在完全随机模型CSR下在0-20m空间尺度上为负关联关系,在去除生境异质性的AC模型下以正关联关系为主;半固定沙丘上的灌木在CSR模型下在0-20m尺度上主要呈现正关联关系,在AC模型下中小尺度上为正关联关系,大尺度上趋于无关联性;流动沙丘上的灌木在CSR模型下在小尺度上主要以正关联为主,在大尺度上趋于无关联性;在AC模型下灌木之间虽也以正关联为主,但随着尺度的增加最后趋于无关联性或负关联关系。研究结果可为该地区固沙植被的演替和植被的生境适应性的研究提供一定的理论基础。

Clinical and Therapeutic Aspects of Temporomandibular Ankylosis at the Conakry Teaching Hospital

Introduction: Temporomandibular joint ankylosis (TMJA) is a fusion of joint surfaces by fibrous or bone tissue and the resulting limitation of mouth opening. The objectives of this study were to determine the frequency of TMJA, describe the clinical aspects and assess management. Materials and Method: It was a retrospective study that was carried out in the Department of Odontostomatology and Maxillofacial Surgery of Donka National Hospital for a period of 5 years (January 2016 to December 2020). Included were all records of inpatients and managed cases of TMJA during the study period. Socio-demographic, clinical and therapeutic variables were analyzed. Results: During the study 13 TMJA cases were collected with the frequency of 0.47%. The age group 1 - 9 was the most affected (61.54%) with extremes of 4 and 28 years. Men were the most concerned (53.87%). Restriction of mouth opening was the main reason for consultation (69.23%). The etiologies of ankylosis were dominated by infection including cellulitis of dental origin (53.85%) followed by facial trauma (30.77%). Arthroplasty was the most commonly used technique (73%), two cases of recurrence were noted (15.38%). Conclusion: TMJA affects mainly children and the etiology is dominated by cellulite of dental origin hence the interest of sensitization of the population for early management of oral diseases.

Growth and Transpiration of <i>Jatropha curcas</i>L. Seedlings under Natural Atmospheric Vapour Pressure Deficit and Progressive Soil Drying in Semi-Arid Climate

During the last decade, Jatropha curcas L. (J. curcas) has gained much attention worldwide as biofuel crop. Although its cultivation is promoted in the Sahel, there is a surprising lack of data on its water use regulation and growth in this region. Here, we investigated, in semi-controlled conditions, leaf transpiration and growth of six accessions of J. curcas at seedling stage under natural changing in vapour pressure deficit (VPD) and progressive soil drying in Senegal. The experimental layout was a randomized complete bloc design and after 3 months of growth arranged to a split-plot at the implementation of water stress to facilitate irrigation. Under well water condition, there was no significant difference between accessions for leave transpiration that was positively correlated to VPD with high values recorded between 13 h and 14 h pm. Accessions of J. curcas used in this study showed closed thresholds at which transpiration declined except accession from Ndawene that threshold was lower (0.30). There is no significant difference between accessions for growth during the experimentation period. In 3 months, we recorded 23.57 g for the aboveground dry biomass and seedlings had about 14 leaves and 24.3 cm height. Positive linear correlation was recorded between aboveground biomass and root dry weight (p J. curcas might need complement irrigation for a better growth of seedlings especially during the dry season.
