This work presents the study of lightweight aluminium matrix reinforced with boron carbide composites fabricated via powder metallurgy technology as shielding materials for neutron radiation. The attenuation experiments on the samples were carried out using neutron source, spontaneous fission neutron source Americium 241/Beryllium (241Am/Be). The scanning electron microscopy (SEM) micrographs revealed a relatively uniform distribution of B4C particles and good interfacial integrity between matrix and B4C particles. Hardness values increase with increase in volume fraction of reinforcement. The results show that the samples have the radiation shielding effects and dependence of the attenuation of neutrons on B4C percentage in composites. It can be concluded that Al/B4C composites could be a candidate material for neutron shielding application.

Fruit extracts of indigenous Melia azedarach were tested for their insecticidal bioactivity against the tomato leafminer(Tuta absoluta)under laboratory *** plants were exposed to moths,after/before application of *** included:crushed fruit extracts of water(500,000 ppm and 200,000 ppm),methanol and ethyl acetate(200,000 ppm)with and without mineral oil(2%);*** powder extracts(2,000 ppm)in different solvents:water,methanol,ethanol,ethyl acetate,hexane and chloroform;biorational products:neem oil,mineral oil,micronized sulfur and thyme *** released moths were removed from treated/untreated plants at 72 h and effect of treatments on adults,eggs,larvae and pupae were *** indicated that sulfur caused the lowest number of live moths to be present on treated plants and was not significantly different in its effect from that of *** extracts and neem *** extracts without and with oil caused the highest%of dry eggs and were comparable to neem *** in the two formulations(crushed fruits and/or powder)caused significant direct effects on immature instars:eggs,early larval instars and *** extracts and the tested products also caused indirect effect in form of significant decrease in number of developing the 3rd larval instars and new emerging moths compared to the *** sprays of these extracts against eggs,larvae and pupae on same treated plants lead to very low number of moths for a second generation of the pest which contributes to low buildup of pest population in a tomato crop.

Background and objective:Activated carbon is commonly used as an immobilisation matrix due to its large surface area,making it a highly desirable matrix for use in immobilising enzymes as preparation for use on the industrial *** objective of this research is to determine the effectiveness of different acids for functionalisation on immobilisation capacity and also to characterize the functionalized activated carbon for the functional groups *** and methods:Activated carbon was functionalised with three acids(hydrochloric acid,nitric acid and sulphuric acid)along with a control sample washed with distilled *** capacity was calculated with hydrochloric acid functionalized activated carbon(HCl-FAC)giving the highest immobilization capacity(6.022 U/g).Characterisation of the functionalised activated carbon was conducted using FT-IR(Fourier Transform Infra-Red)spectroscopy analysis of the samples with the aim of analyzing the various functional groups present to determine the sample with distinct characteristics thus telling the degree of adsorption of lipase onto the activated carbon ***:HNO3-FAC(functionalized activated carbon)showed a very distinct pattern as a larger number of surface functional groups *** immobilisation on a matrix ensures thermal stability and increased reusability of the ***,in this research,lipase sourced from Candida antarctica was immobilised on acid functionalised activated *** best acid for functionalisation was found to be hydrochloric ***:Due to the very distinct patterns shown by the FT-IR spectrum of the HNO3-FAC after a fair comparison with others,it allows for a larger number of surface functional groups which will definitely enhance the stability of the enzyme lipase.

Introduction: Giant hernias induce changes which reduce the quality of life of patients and make their surgical management complex. Adequate preoperative preparation of the patient guarantees good postoperative progress. It is necessary to avoid resorting to a technique of separation of the compartments during the cure. Here we report the case of a patient who benefited a successful cure using the Ramirez technique. Observation: We report the case of a 60-year-old patient admitted to an outpatient clinic for abdominal swelling evolving for 30 years without the notion of trauma gradually increasing in volume. The interrogation and physical examination led to the diagnosis of a giant white line hernia with incarceration. A preoperative assessment and a preanesthetic consultation were carried out. Intraoperatively, the cecum, transverse colon, sigmoid, jejunum and greater omentum were incarcerated in the bag. After adhesiolysis we proceeded to resect the bag and cure it using the Ramirez technique. The consequences were simple and the patient was discharged on day 4 after her dressing and was seen on day 15, 1 month, 3 months and 1 year. The patient benefited from the placement of an abdominal compression sheath for 3 months. Conclusion: Success in the management of prosthetic material in the absence of prosthetic material depends on good preoperative preparation and the mastery of certain surgical techniques.

The First Report on Sero-Prevalence of Toxoplasma gondii in Working Horses and Donkeys in the Sudan

A serological survey of Toxoplasma gondii was conducted using LAT (Latex Agglutination Test) on 205 sera collected from working horses and donkeys in Khartoum State, Sudan. The overall sero-prevalence of the investigated equines was 32.7%. Antibodies to T. gondii were found in 38% of 100 horses and 27.6% of 105 donkeys. The titers were 1 2 (4 heads), 1 4 (11 heads), 1 8 (13 heads), 1 16 (17 heads), 1 32 (5 heads), 1 64 (10 donkeys) and 1 128 (7 donkeys). Neither the area nor animal species showed significant differences between the investigated groups. However, age was reported to show significant (P < 0.05) effect on equine toxoplasmosis in the Sudan. This is the first report on equine toxoplasmosis in the Sudan.

目的:探讨小陷胸汤调节PI3K/AKT/mTOR信号通路改善高脂血症小鼠肝脏脂质代谢的分子机制。方法:60只SPF级ApoE-/-小鼠,随机分为模型组,小陷胸汤低、中、高剂量组和辛伐他汀阳性药组,各12只,12只野生型C57BL/6J小鼠作为空白组。除空白组外,其余组给予8周高脂饮食造模,然后分别按照低、中、高相应剂量给药小陷胸汤及辛伐他汀,空白组和模型组给予同等剂量蒸馏水,周期60 d。给药结束后检测小鼠血清血脂水平,HE和油红O染色观察小鼠肝脏病理变化,通过RT-qPCR检测肝脏PI3K/AKT/mTOR信号通路关键基因的mRNA水平。结果:HE染色中,模型组小鼠肝脏有明显的脂肪变性,并有炎性细胞浸润,给药组和辛伐他汀阳性药组泡性脂变明显减少;油红O染色显示,模型组相比空白组橘色脂滴面积增多,给药后,脂质沉积改善明显并呈剂量依赖性。与空白组相比,模型组小鼠血清总胆固醇(TC)、甘油三酯(TG)、低密度脂蛋白胆固醇(LDL-C)水平显著升高(P<0.05),高密度脂蛋白胆固醇(HDL-C)水平显著降低(P<0.05);给药后,小鼠血清中TC、TG、LDL-C水平显著降低(P<0.05),HDL-C水平显著升高(P<0.05)。模型组PI3K、AKT、mTOR的mRNA水平较空白组显著升高(P<0.05);给药后,PI3K、AKT、mTOR的mRNA水平显著降低(P<0.05)。结论:小陷胸汤可能通过调控PI3K/AKT/mTOR信号通路有效改善高脂血症小鼠血脂异常和肝脏脂质代谢。

随着Internet上维吾尔文信息的迅速发展,维吾尔文文本分类成为处理和组织这些大量文本数据的关键技术。研究维吾尔文文本分类相关技术和方法,针对维吾尔文文本在向量空间模型(VSM)表示下的高维性,采用词干提取和IG相结合的方法对表示空间进行降维。采用基于机器学习的分类算法(kNN和Nave Bayes)对维吾尔文文本语料进行了分类实验并分析了实验结果。

目前的情感分析研究大部分仅局限于能够明显地表达意见的主观性文本,却没有对一些隐含地表达情感的文本进行分析。针对这一不足,提出一种基于条件随机场(CRFs)模型的意见挖掘中维吾尔语文本隐式情感分析方法。利用互信息(MI)衡量上下文的依赖度,结合词法、语境依赖词、标点符号和习语等特征用于隐式情感分析。在特征选择时,通过对信息增益(IG)进行改进,解决语料中数据集不平衡的问题。该方法用于维吾尔语文本隐式情感分析的准确率为77.11%,召回率为78.37%,表明了其在意见挖掘中隐式情感分析任务上的有效性。
