Molecular typing of methicillin and vancomycin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus isolated from clinical specimens by double locus sequence typing(DLST)method

Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus(MRSA)strains are the essential cause of infections in communities and *** present study was conducted to determine the molecular typing of MRSA,isolated from hospitalized patients,using the double-locus sequence typing(DLST).In total,280 *** isolated from clinical specimens by phenotypic(catalase,coagulase,DNase,oxacillin,vancomycin screening agar and antibiotic disk diffusion),and molecular methods(PCR for determining the mecA,vanA and nuc genes).The DLST and sequencing was performed for MRSA containing *** of 280 specimens,confirmed as Staphylococcus aureus(***),123(43.9%)strains were *** highest resistance toward the erythromycin(15μg),followed by ciprofloxacin(5μg),clindamycin(2μg),tetracycline(30μg),gentamicin(10μg)and rifampicin(5μg),was 98.3%,97.5%,94.3%,90.2%,83.7%and 41.4%,***,the least resistance(0%)was observed in each of teicoplanin(30μg),linzolide(30μg),and vancomycin(30μg).All(100%)of MRSA strains had the mecA,and none of them have had the *** results of DLST showed that the most common sequence types were BPH 2003 and *** DLST type 18-32 was a significant cluster of *** sequencing MRSA and comparing the dominant types via the DLST,it is possible to establish the etiology of the disease in a much shorter time,and prevent the complications of the ***,the combination of partial sequences of clfB and spa can serve as useful genetic markers for MRSA *** concluded that the MRSA in our region was relatively high,but no vancomycin resistance was *** majority of the MRSA DLST type was 18–32.

Dual-frequency IP over Tanghuping Prospect

Gold mineralization in the Tanghuping Prospect was the target of the geophysical exploration. The mineralization shows close relation with geological structures and is accompanied by alteration. Sulfide concentrations in the altered zones w ere used to trace the mineralization by Induced Polarization(IP) method. Through laboratory and field measurements of some selected samples of the study area,t heir geophysical properties were studied carefully. After that by numerical calc ulation,a geophysical model was built. Six lines were designed to use dual-fre quency IP sounding in the west of the surveyed area. Gradient,pole-dipole and reverse pole-dipole arrays were used to acquire the data. Interpretation of the processed data shows eight veins that demonstrate diverging and converging phen omena. Therefore east of the surveyed area is considered as most prosperous zone in the study area.

Benthic foraminifera as biostratigraphical and paleoecological indicators:An example from Oligo-Miocene deposits in the SW of Zagros basin,Iran

The Asmari Formation is a predominantly carbonate lithostratigraphic unit that outcrops in the Zagros Basin. Micropaleontological studies of the Asmari Formation in the Dehdasht area led to the identification of 51 species of foraminifera taxa. Among the foraminifera, Nummulites cf. vascus, Operculin sp.,Operculina complanata, Eulepidina dilatata, Eulepidina elephantine, Ditrupa sp., Miogypsina sp., Elphidium sp. 14, and Borelis melo curdica are the most important. The Lepidocyclina-Operculina-Ditrupa assemblage zone represents the Rupeliane Chattian age. The Aquitanian age is also defined by co-occurrence of Miogypsina sp. and Elphidium sp. 14, and finally, the first occurrence of Borelis melo curdica represents the Burdigalian. Based on faunal assemblages, the following paleoenvironmental settings are determined for the deposition of the study section：（1） the deep, offshore settings in the aphotic zone dominated by pelagic and small benthic foraminifera;（2） the low energy, turbid and low light parts of the oligophotic zone characterized by large and flat lepidocyclinids（Eulepidina） and Nummulitidae;（3） the low turbidity,deeper part of the inner ramp dominated by Miogypsinoides, Neorotalia, Lepidocyclina, Operculina and Archias;（4） the shallow, marginal marine environment exposed to salinity fluctuations（short-term salinity fluctuations or fully marine conditions） dominated by small benthic Foraminifera（Ammonia and Elphidium）;（5） highly translucent, shallowest part of the inner ramp dominated by representatives of Borelis, Meandropsina and Peneroplis. The biotic assemblages represent warm tropical waters with oligotrophic to slightly mesotrophic conditions.

A novel frequency-selective metamaterial to improve helix antenna

A novel frequency-selective metamaterial with negative permittivity and permeability for improving directivity and gain of a helix antenna is presented in this *** proposed metamaterial is composed of two Z-shape resonators printed on opposite sides of a dielectric *** forms of multilayered cells are found to be suitable for antennas and waveguides *** addition,a new method of designing a metamaterial-based helix antenna is presented with high directivity and gain.A comparison on radiation properties is given between the conventional and the new metamaterial-based helix *** comparisons on radiation properties are performed:(1) the effect of proposed Z-structure on monopole,dipole,and helix antennas;(2) the effect of OE3,split-ring resonator (SRR),and proposed Z-structure unit cells on the performance of helix *** results show improvement of parameters such as directivity,gain,and radiation power of the new metamaterial-based helix ***,the combination of Z-structure with the helix antenna shows the best performance.

Experimental investigation on the effect of surface characterization of electrodes on the gas bubble dynamics in electrolyte flow and performance of FLA batteries by using PIV

In the flooded lead_acid batteries(FLAB),gas bubbles are initially formed on the surface of the electrodes,which are produced by electrochemical reactions,and then released into the *** the present investigation,the effect of surface characterization of electrodes of FLAB on the gas bubble dynamic parameters in the electrolyte flow at different charging/discharging rates(C-rates)are studied utilizing particle image velocimetry(PIV)*** results show that the capacity of FLAB have a linear behavior due to changes in each of the two parameters of the surface characterization of electrodes and the *** all State of charges(SOCs)of FLAB cells in different tests,increasing average roughness(Ra)and average wavelength of the roughness(λa)in the electrode surfaces,results in an increase in average bubble diameter and bubble rising ***,a sharp decrease in the void fraction of bubbles within the electrolyte was observed due to the increment inλa and ***,the effect of the rising movement of gas bubbles within the electrolyte on the average electrolyte velocity pattern in the gap between the electrodes by changing the surface characterization of electrodes are investigated in detail.

Relationship Between Land Use Changes and the Production of Dust Sources in Kermanshah Province,Iran

Recognizing land use changes(LUC)and evaluating their relationship with producing dust sources are considered effective to manage the *** Kermanshah Province,Iran as study area,dusty days from 2008 to 2015 were selected and dust sources were identified applying thermal-infrared dust index(TDI),hybrid single-particle lagrangian integrated trajectory(HYSPLIT),false color composite(FCC)and true color composite(TCC)of MODerate resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer(MODIS)***,the land use change map was produced using Landsat images in 2000 and ***,the distribution and frequency of the sources in each land-use change class and important dust production areas were ***,two non-parametric tests including Chisquare and Kruskal-Wallis were applied to examine the relationship between LUC and dust *** indicated that the distribution of dust sources was not identical in the study area,and the sources were mainly generated in the areas where land-use change had *** fact,different classes of LUC have different contributions to dust production,and the highest contribution refers to the deflation in gentle slope areas and lowlands where the rangeland has been converted into agriculture *** findings from this study are useful to manage and control dust in the identified sources.

Petrochemical characteristics of Yamaghan Prospect

In this research, major and immobile minor and trace elements are used to study the petrology of Yamaghan deposit. Some major elements of least altered samples were used to classify the host rocks and their magma type. Considering slight to medium alteration of the host rock, immobile minor and trace elements of more than 110 samples were used to get more confidential results as well. The results show the high accuracy and reliability of the implemented techniques in the study area.

In this research,motion and deformation of a red blood cell(RBC)in a microchannel with stenosis is investigated by combined Lattice Boltzmann-Immersed Boundary *** fluid flow occurs due to the pressure difference between the inlet and the outlet of the *** immersed boundary algorithm guaranteed that there is no relative velocity between the RBC and ***,mass transfer along the immersed border does not *** can be seen that the healthy RBC has more deformation and passes the stenosis easier while the sick one passes the stenosis with less deformation and returns to its initial state *** the pressure gradient(i.e.,increasing Reynolds number)would cause more deformation of the *** is found that a healthy RBC moves faster than a sick one along the *** pressure increases due to the presence of stenosis and low deformable *** is the reason of many serious diseases including cardiovascular *** results of this paper were compared to the previous valid results and good agreements were observed.

Experimental evaluation of force analogy method(FAM) by element type

The force analogy method(FAM) is considered as one of the most time-saving and cost-efficient methods for analyzing frames. Through a set of assumptions and restoring forces, FAM analyzes nonlinear frames responses through Hooke’s law. This study evaluates the effect of element type on FAM through numerical and experimental tests. The conventional Euler Bernoulli(EB) element is replaced by the Timoshenko(TS) beam-column element and the results are interpreted and compared with experimental findings. Three experimental tests were conducted for benchmarking and comparison purposes via 2 D aluminum frames. The results indicated that during the analysis, when the frame response is in the linear region, there is no difference between the element types in the response of the frames. When the frame entered the plastic region, the frames which were analyzed by the TS element revealed closer responses to the experimental outcomes. The gap between the results of the frame which was analyzed by EB and TS enlarged especially when the frame experienced a sharp or huge rotation of more than 0.2 rad. The final recorded deformations based on the TS element revealed an accuracy between 98.05% to 98.65%, while the EB element showed 14.66% to 45.14% for rotations of more than 0.2 rad at plastic hinge locations(PHLs).

Fuzzy stochastic long-term model with consideration of uncertainties for deployment of distributed energy resources using interactive honey bee mating optimization

This paper presents a novel modified inter- active honey bee mating optimization （IHBMO） base fuzzy stochastic long-term approach for determining optimum location and size of distributed energy resources （DERs）. The Monte Carlo simulation method is used to model the uncertainties associated with long-term load forecasting, A proper combination of several objectives is considered in the objective function. Reduction of loss and power purchased from the electricity market, loss reduc- tion in peak load level and reduction in voltage deviation are considered simultaneously as the objective functions. First, these objectives are fuzzified and designed to be comparable with each other. Then, they are introduced into an IHBMO algorithm in order to obtain the solution which maximizes the value of integrated objective function. The output power orDERs is scheduled for each load level. An enhanced economic model is also proposed to justify investment on DER. An IEEE 30-bus radial distribution test system is used to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
