Cymbidium sp. has several ornamental, medicinal and cosmetic uses. Essential oils were obtained through extraction by hydrodistillation of flower and pedicellate ovary. The chromatographic profile was obtained by thin layer chromatography (TLC), combined with gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC/MS), for the identification and relative quantification of various substances in three samples from the orchid (flower, pedicellate ovary and aqueous residue). With TLC, five compounds were identified in the flower, with the most abundant being terpineol, linalool and zingiberene, and five in the pedicellate ovary, with borneol, cineole, and β-bisabolene being in the greatest concentration, while for the aqueous residue, the most abundant was geraniol. Using GC/MS, 25 volatile components associated with the flower were identified, of which the most abundant were linalool (22.92%), 4-methyl-phenol (15.07%) and p-Menth-1-en-8-ol (12.32%). in pedicellate ovaries, 13 components were identified, with the most abundant being 4-methyl-phenol (31.24%), bicycle [4.4.0] dec-1-ene, 2-isopropyl-5-methyl-9-methylene-(17.74%) and 2-hexanone (10.24%), while in the aqueous residue 18 components were found, with the most abundant being 4-methyl-phenol (18.71%) and 2- cyclohexen-1-ol (14.60%).

Our understanding of immune responses to SARS-CoV-2 and variants of concern(VOCs)has been primarily acquired through analysis of Spike-specific igG ***,a more comprehensive understanding of the breadth and longevity of immune responses after infection and vaccination requires analysis of cellular ***,we report on T cell immunity in infected and vaccinated individuals,identifying CD4+/CD8+T cell cytokine responses to SARS-CoV-2 and variant peptides(Alpha,B.1.1.7 and Delta,B.1.617.2).

The use of Recurrence plots have been extensively used in various fields. in this work, Recurrence Plots (RPs) investigates the changes in the non-linear behaviour of urban air pollution using large datasets of raw data (hourly). This analysis has not been used before to extract information from large datasets for this type non-linear problem. Two different approaches have been used to tackle this problem. The first approach is to show results according to monitoring network. The second approach is to show the results by particle type. This analysis shows the feasibility of using Recurrence Analysis for pollution monitoring and control.

The development of forecasting models for pollution particles shows a nonlinear dynamic behavior;hence, implementation is a non-trivial process. in the literature, there have been multiple models of particulate pollutants, which use softcomputing techniques and machine learning such as: multilayer perceptrons, neural networks, support vector machines, kernel algorithms, and so on. This paper presents a prediction pollution model using support vector machines and kernel functions, which are: Gaussian, Polynomial and Spline. Finally, the prediction results of ozone (O3), particulate matter (PM10) and nitrogen dioxide (NO2) at Mexico City are presented as a case study using these techniques.

ADE as induction Therapy Results in Treatment of Children with Non-M3 High-Risk Acute Myeloid Leukemia, an Extrapolable Achievement in Developing Countries

Background: in Mexico, AML survival is referred in 30%. Our aim was to evaluate results with ADE protocol as induction treatment in children with non-M3 AML in a public Mexican institution. Method: We included patients with AML in a single institution between 2005 and 2013. All non-M3-AML patients received ADE as induction therapy (cytarabine 100 mg/m2 in continuous infusion from day 1 to 7, daunorrubicin 30 mg/m2 days 1, 3, 5 and etoposide 100 mg/m2 over days 1 to 5). Patients received antibiotic prophylaxis and strict scheduled appointments to assure adherence and prevent avoidable emergencies. Main Results: Eighteen patients were included. Median age was 106 months. One patient died at diagnosis so 17 were eligible for induction results analysis;eleven needed two cycles and six patients three. Remission rate was 100%. Analyzing non-M3 patients overall survival was 80.2% at 100 months. No fatal complications were observed. Stratifying by number of cycles we observe that patients receiving one ADE cycle had a 0% overall survival at short follow up, with 2 ADE cycles 80% at 100 months and with 3 cycles 100% at 60 months. Conclusion: ADE induction therapy showed improved results in overall survival compared with other standard regimens. Following the protocol we obtained 100% remission. This is an important achievement in our population. Our focus must be to ameliorate maintenance final results. These results should be reproduced in other hospitals in Mexico and other countries.

The aim of this study was to identify the most frequent yeasts in the oral cavity of adult individuals without immune disorders and to associate the presence of these oral yeasts with different characteristics of each individual. Oral rinse samples were obtained from 96 healthy adults and cultured in Sabouraud dextrose agar media and CHROMagar. Yeasts were identified by sequencing the D1/D2 region of the 28 S rRNA gene. Probable association among the socio-demographic characteristics, body mass index, family and personal medical history,oral hygiene, tobacco and/or alcohol consumption habits and presence of oral fungi was analyzed. Contingency tables and logistic regression were employed to evaluate possible relationships between the presence of oral fungi and mixed colonization with these variables. 57.3% of the healthy individuals had oral yeasts and 21.8% had mixed colonization. The most prevalent yeasts were Candida albicans(52%), C. parapsilosis(17.9%), and ***(7.57%). Yeasts with most frequently mixed colonization were C. albicans and C. parapsilosis. No relationships were found among the variables analyzed. However, the presence of mixed colonization was related to the presence of dental prostheses(Pindex(P=0.012). This is the first study that characterized oral yeasts in Colombian healthy individuals, determined the most prevalent oral yeasts C. albicans, C. parapsilosis and C. dublinensis and an association of mixed colonization with the use of dental prostheses and aparatology and poor hygiene.

in this work, the elastic cross section is calculated at energies above the Coulomb barrier for 3He + 58Ni using a Woods-Saxon potential. The solutions of the radial Schrödinger equations are calculated numerically and they are introduced in the S matrix, after which the cross section is obtained. The parameters in the potential are adjusted to satisfy known experimental data.

Given the increasing complexity of cancer care,multidisciplinary tumor boards have become essential in daily clinical oncology *** Project Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes(ECHO)initiative developed an innovative telementoring model using a"hub and spoke"design consisting of a team of experts(hub)that offers a full service to multiple participants(the spokes)during regularly scheduled sessions discussing patients'clinical *** Alexander Fleming Cancer institute in Buenos Aires was the first hub in Latin America to implement Project ECHO for gastrointestinal *** our 3-year experience,80 patients from 37 centers were evaluated within Project ECHO and a range of three to five cases were discussed in each *** our perspective,the impact of this novel approach was a remarkable strategy to reduce care disparities by equalizing access to high-quality medical knowledge in a multidisciplinary environment for medical ***,it was shown to have a cost-effective impact directly on the patients and the local health system,since relevant costs were saved after unnecessary treatments,studies and travel expenses were avoided.
