A solvable model of lateral line of a fish based on a wave equation with additional boundary conditions on a set of isolated points is *** the framework of this model it is shown that the ratio of pressures on lateral lines on different fish flanks,as well as the cross section of sound scattering on both the lines,strongly depends on angles of incidence of incoming sound *** strong angular dependence of the pressure ratio seems to be sufficient for the fish to determine the directions from which the sound is coming.

This paper includes a short historical review of Russian and Soviet scientific traverses to study the Antarctic inland. The first traverse left on April 2, 1956. it resulted in the opening of the first Russian inland research station named Pionerskaya and provided the first geophysical and glaciological data on regions inland of the Antarctic coast. By 1965, a number of regional inland scientific traverses had been completed and. the first Atlas of Antarctica was published in 1966. The atlas presented the main achievements of that time. After the discovery of Lake vostok, Russian scientists commenced remote sensing investigations to study this unique natural phenomenon. The propagation of acoustic and electromagnetic waves in the glacier near vostok Station were measured to provide important geophysical data. Radio-echo sounding data showed that Lake vostok is isolated and separated from the rest of the Antarctic subglacial hydrosphere. The total area of the lake is 15 790 km2, excluding 365 km^2 occupied by 11 islands. Reflection seismic soundings of Lake vostok estimated a total volume of about 6 100 km^3, an average depth of about 400 m, and a maximum depth of 1 200 m. Since 2008, there have been a number of scientific traverses between Mirny and vostok stations and between Progress and vostok stations. The data collected during the traverses have provided new insights into sub-ice topography and ice sheet structure, and have led to the discovery of subglacial lakes near Komsomolskaya Station and under Pionerskaya Station.

A Model of irregular impurity at the Surface of Nanoparticle and Catalytic Activity

A problem of nanocatalyst improvement is considered. The existence of irregularities at the surface of nanoparticle leads to the increasing of the surface/volume ratio and, correspondingly, to the improvement of the catalytic activity. But this impurity gives one an additional effect due to the change of the electronic density at the surface. We suggest simple model for the description of this effect. The model allows one to find the discrete spectrum of the Schrdinger operator for nanoparticle. Due to this impurity induced bound states the electron density increases near the surface. it leads to the increase of the catalytic activity of nanoparticles with surface impurities.

The present paper is devoted to a theoretical analysis of sliding friction under the influence of oscillations perpendicular to the sliding *** contrast to previous works we analyze the influence of the stiffness of the tribological contact in detail and also consider the case of large oscillation amplitudes at which the contact is lost during a part of the oscillation period,so that the sample starts to 'jump'.it is shown that the macroscopic coefficient of friction is a function of only two dimensionless parameters-a dimensionless sliding velocity and dimensionless oscillation *** function in turn depends on the shape of the contacting *** the present paper,analysis is carried out for two shapes:a flat cylindrical punch and a parabolic *** we consider 'stiff systems',where the contact stiffness is small compared with the stiffness of the *** role of the system stiffness will be studied in more detail in a separate paper.

The present paper is devoted to a theoretical analysis of sliding friction under the influence of in-plane oscillations perpendicular to the sliding direction. Contrary to previous studies of this mode of active control of friction, we consider the influence of the stiffness of the tribological contact in detail and show that the contact stiffness plays a central role for small oscillation amplitudes. in the present paper we consider the case of a displacement-controlled system, where the contact stiffness is small compared to the stiffness of the measuring system. it is shown that in this case the macroscopic coefficient of friction is a function of two dimensionless parameters— a dimensionless sliding velocity and dimensionless oscillation amplitude. in the limit of very large oscillation amplitudes, known solutions previously reported in the literature are reproduced. The region of small amplitudes is described for the first time in this paper.

in the face of deteriorating environmental conditions in the world,water quality control is an urgent *** can be solved by creating sensors with high accuracy and low cost,which requires the development of fundamentally new radiophysical methods that take advantage of the optical,microwave and millimeter wavelengths that have a significantly greater sensitivity to low concentrations of pollutants and a lower *** article presents prototypes of measuring cells of the microwave and optical ranges as well as the results of an experimental study of water of various degrees of pollution with their *** results show that the use of the highly sensitive method of capillary-waveguide resonance makes it possible to detect the presence of micro impurities in water with concentrations up to0.1%and to identify water even from sources of various natural *** addition,the use of measurements at several frequencies in the optical range will make it possible to solve the problem of creating water control sensors with high sensitivity to pollution and low *** can be concluded that the possibility of complex use of multiwave sensors(optical,infrared and microwave ranges)allows to increase the sensitivity and reliability of water quality assessment.

Non-equidistant sparse antenna arrays constructed on the basis of Latin squares are considered. A method for their construction and a synthesis algorithm are proposed,and the properties of two-dimensional antennas based on them,which ensure,at a high degree of rarefaction,a sufficiently small lateral radiation are studied. The features and main characteristics of such antennas are studied.

Acute myocardial infarction(AMi)is one of the main reasons of cardiovascular disease-related *** introduction of percutaneous coronary intervention to clinical practice dramatically decreased the mortality rate in *** cardiac remodeling is a serious problem in *** increase in the effectiveness of AMi treatment and prevention of adverse cardiac remodeling is difficult to achieve without understanding the mechanisms of reperfusion cardiac injury and cardiac *** of pyroptosis prevents the development of postinfarction and pressure overload-induced cardiac remodeling,and mitigates cardiomyopathy induced by diabetes and metabolic ***,it is reasonable to hypothesize that the pyroptosis inhibitors may find a role in clinical practice for treatment of AMi and prevention of cardiac remodeling,diabetes and metabolic syndrome-triggered *** was demonstrated that pyroptosis interacts closely with apoptosis and *** could be inhibited by nucleotide-binding oligomerization domain-like receptor with a pyrin domain 3 inhibitors,caspase-1 inhibitors,microRNA,angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors,angiotensinⅡreceptor blockers,and traditional Chinese herbal medicines.
