Chimeric plants composed of green and albino tissues have great ornamental *** unveil the functional genes responsible for albino phenotypes in chimeric plants,we inspected the complete plastid genomes(plastomes)in green and albino leaf tissues from 23 ornamental chimeric plants belonging to 20 species,including monocots,dicots,and *** nine chimeric plants,plastomes were identical between green and albino ***,another 14 chimeric plants were heteroplasmic,showing a mutation between green and albino *** identified 14 different point mutations in eight functional plastid genes related to plastid-encoded RNA polymerase(rpo)or photosystems which caused albinism in the chimeric *** them,12 were deleterious mutations in the target genes,in which early termination appeared due to small deletion-mediated frameshift or single nucleotide *** was single nucleotide substitution in an intron of the ycf3 and the other was a missense mutation in coding region of the rpoC2 *** inspected chlorophyll structure,protein functional model of the rpoC2,and expression levels of the related genes in green and albino tissues of Reynoutria japonica.A single amino acid change,histidine-to-proline substitution,in the rpoC2 protein may destabilize the peripheral helix of plastid-encoded RNA polymerase,impairing the biosynthesis of the photosynthesis system in the albino tissue of *** chimera plant.

A wave forecasting system using FUNWAVE-TVD which is based on the fully nonlinear Boussinesq equations by Chen(2006)was developed to provide an accurate wave prediction in the Port of Busan,South *** system is linked to the Korea Operational Oceanographic System(KOOS)developed by Park et al.(2015).The computational domain covers a region of 9.6 km×7.0 km with a grid size of 2 m in both directions,which is sufficient to resolve short waves and dominant sea *** total number of grid points exceeds 16 millions,making the model computational *** provide real-time forecasting,an interpolation method,which is based on pre-calculated results of FUNWAVE-TVD and SWAN forecasting results at the FUNWAVE-TVD offshore boundary,was used.A total of 45 cases were pre-calculated,which took 71 days on 924 computational cores of a Linux cluster *** wave generation and propagation from the deep water were computed using the SWAN in *** results provided a boundary condition for the FUNWAVE-TVD forecasting *** verify the model,wave observations were conducted at three locations inside the port in a time period of more than 7 months.A model/model comparison between FUNWAVE-TVD and SWAN was also carried *** is found that,FUNWAVE-TVD improves the forecasting results significantly compared to SWAN which underestimates wave heights in sheltered areas due to incorrect physical mechanism of wave diffraction,as well as large wave heights caused by wave reflections inside the port.

AIM:To investigate the efficacy and safety of transarterial chemoembolization(TACE)-based multimodal treatment in patients with large hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).METHODS:A total of 146 consecutive patients were included in the analysis,and their medical records and radiological data were reviewed ***:In total,119 patients received TACE-based multi-modal treatments,and the remaining 27 received conservative *** survival(P<0.001)and objective tumor response(P=0.003)were significantly better in the treatment group than in the conservative *** subgroup analysis,survival benefits were observed not only in the multi-modal treatment group compared with the TACE-only group(P=0.002)but also in the surgical treatment group compared with the loco-regional treatment-only group(P<0.001).Multivariate analysis identified tumor stage(P<0.001)and tumor type(P=0.009)as two independent pre-treatment factors for *** adjusting for significant pre-treatment prognostic factors,objective response(P<0.001),surgical treatment(P=0.009),and multi-modal treatment(P=0.002)were identified as independent post-treatment prognostic ***:TACE-based multi-modal treatments were safe and more beneficial than conservative *** surgery after successful downstaging resultedin long-term survival in patients with large,unresectable HCC.

Cluster analysis has been performed on the tracks of 51 Tropical Cyclones （TCs） that made landfall on the Korean Peninsula （KP） for the period of 1951-2004. The classification technique of the landfalling tracks used in this study was the fuzzy clustering method （FCM） and the resultant silhouette coefficient suggested four clusters as an optimal cluster number. Most TCs of Cluster 2 and Cluster 3 （C-23） tended to pass through China's Mainland before landfall, but those of Cluster 1 and Cluster 4 （C-14） tended to mostly land after moving northward from the East China Sea （ECS） without passing over China's Mainland. The TC landfalling frequency of C-14 has begun to clearly increase since the late 1980s, particularly the maximum landfalling frequency in the early 2000s set a record for the 54-year analysis period. The ridge axis of the western North Pacific high （WNPH） of C-23 bends more equatorward than that of C-14, so that the monsoon trough of C-23 is located more equatorward than that of C-14. As a consequence, most TCs of C-23 tend to recurve inland of China, but over the ECS for C-14.

Bile acids(BAs)are cholesterol derivatives synthesized in the liver and then secreted into the intestine for lipid *** are numerous scientific reports describing BAs,especially secondary BAs,as strong carcinogens or promoters of colon ***,BAs act as strong stimulators of colorectal cancer(CRC)initiation by damaging colonic epithelial cells,and inducing reactive oxygen species production,genomic destabilization,apoptosis resistance,and cancer stem cells-like ***,BAs promote CRC progression via multiple mechanisms,including inhibiting apoptosis,enhancing cancer cell proliferation,invasion,and *** are diverse signals involved in the carcinogenesis mechanism of BAs,with a major role of epidermal growth factor receptor,and its down-stream signaling,involving mitogen-activated protein kinase,phosphoinositide 3-kinase/Akt,and nuclear factor kappa-light-chain-enhancer of activated B *** regulate numerous genes including the human leukocyte antigen class I gene,p53,matrix metalloprotease,urokinase plasminogen activator receptor,Cyclin D1,cyclooxygenase-2,interleukin-8,and miRNAs of CRC cells,leading to CRC *** evidence suggests that targeting BAs is an efficacious strategies for CRC prevention and treatment.

Aneurysmal change of saphenous vein grafts （SVG） is a rare condition that predominantly develops 10-20 years after coronary artery bypass graft （CABG）. Natural course includes mechanical complications due to mass effect, myocardial infarction and aneurysmal rupture. Aneurysmectomy can be considered when it induces such complications. We demonstrate complete set of diagnosis, treatment and post-operative imaging of a huge SVG aneurysm that was successfully treated with surgical resection.

Objective:To investigate the anti-inflammatory effects of Jeju seaweeds on macrophage RAW264.7 cells under lipopolysaccharide(LPS)***:Ethyl acetate fractions were prepared from five different types of Jeju seaweeds,Dictyopteris divaricata(***),Dictyopteris prolifera(***),Prioutis cornea(***,Grateloupia laceolata(G,lanceolate,and Cralcloupia filicina(***)They were screened for inhibitory effects on proinflammatory mediators and cytokines such as nitric oxide(NO),prostaglandin E,,tumor necrosis factor-a(TNF-a),and interleukin-6(11.-6).Results:Our results revealed that ***,***,***,***,and *** potently inhibited ***-stimulaled NO production(IC_(50),values were 18.0,38.36,38.43,32.81 and 37.14μg/mL,respectively).Consistent with these findings,***,***,***,and *** also reduced the IPS-induced and prostaglandin E,production in a concentration-dependent ***,they suppressed the expression of inducible NO synthase and cyclooxygenase-2 at the protein level in a dose-dependent manner in the RAW264.7 cells,as detennined by western *** addition,the levels of TNF-a and IL-6,released into the medium,were also reduced by ***,***,***,G,lanceolata,and *** in a dose-dependent manner(IC_(50)values for TNF-a were 16.11,28.21,84.27,45.52 and74.75μg/mL,respectively;IC_(50),values for IL-6 were 37.35,80.08,103.28,62.53 and 84.28μg/mL,respectively).The total phlorotannin content was measured by the Folin-Ciocalteu method and expressed as phloroglucinol *** content was 92.0μg/mg for ***,151.8μg/mg for ***,57.2μg/mg for ***,53.0 pg/mg for ***,and 40.2μg/mg for ***:Thus,these findings suggest that Jeju seaweed extracts have potential therapeutic applications for inflammatory responses.
