Gastric cancer(GC)is one of the most common gastrointestinal *** a newly discovered type of non-coding RNAs,transfer RNA(tRNA)-derived small RNAs(tsRNAs)play a dual biological role in *** previous studies have demonstrated the potential of tRF-23-Q99P9P9NDD as a diagnostic and prognostic biomarker for *** this work,we confirmed for the first time that tRF-23-Q99P9P9NDD can promote the proliferation,migration,and invasion of GC cells in *** dual luciferase reporter gene assay confirmed that tRF-23-Q99P9P9NDD could bind to the 3'untranslated region(UTR)site of acyl-coenzyme A dehydrogenase short/branched chain(ACADSB).In addition,ACADSB could rescue the effect of tRF-23-Q99P9P9NDD on GC ***,we used Gene Ontology(GO),the Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes(KEGG),and Gene Set Enrichment Analysis(GSEA)to find that downregulated ACADSB in GC may promote lipid accumulation by inhibiting fatty acid catabolism and ***,we verified the correlation between ACADSB and 12 ferroptosis genes at the transcriptional level,as well as the changes in reactive oxygen species(ROS)levels by flow *** summary,this study proposes that tRF-23-Q99P9P9NDD may affect GC lipid metabolism and ferroptosis by targeting ACADSB,thereby promoting GC *** provides a theoretical basis for the diagnostic and prognostic monitoring value of GC and opens upnew possibilities for treatment.

Infection and vaccination can provide protective immunity against severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). However, the emergence of SARS-CoV-2 variants has persisted, leading to breakthrough infections. Owing to the original antigenic sin (OAS), variant breakthrough infection or vaccination potentially induces a stronger antibody response against the ancestral strain than to subsequent variants, as in the case of influenza. Thus, overcoming OAS is important for the development of future vaccine designs. This review summarizes the recent findings on OAS in the antibody response to SARS-CoV-2 and its variants, with an emphasis on future vaccine designs.

Chemoselective labeling-based spermatozoa glycan imaging reveals abnormal glycosylation in oligoasthenotspermia

Spermatogenesis, maturation, capacitation and fertilization are precisely regulated by glycosylation. However, the relationship between altered glycosylation patterns and the onset and development of reproductive disorders is unclear, mainly limited by the lack of in situ imaging techniques for spermatozoa glycosylation. We developed an efficient and highly specific spermatozoa glycan imaging technique based on the robust chemoselective labeling of sialic acid(Sia) and N-acetyl-D-galactosamine(Gal/GalNAc). We further proposed a “tandem glycan chemoselective labeling” strategy to achieve simultaneous imaging of two types of glycans on spermatozoa. We applied the developed method to the spermatozoa from oligozoospermic patients and diabetic mice and found that these spermatozoa showed higher levels of Sia and Gal/Gal NAc expression than the normal groups. Moreover, spermatozoa from diabetic mice showed a severe decrease in number, viability, and forward motility, suggesting that in vivo glucose metabolism disorders may lead to an elevated level of spermatozoa glycosylation and have a correlation with the development of oligoasthenotspermia. Our work provides a research tool to reveal the relationship between glycosylation modification and spermatozoa quality, and a promising clue for the development of glycan-based reproductive markers.

Atmospheric fate of typical liquid crystal monomers in the tropospheric gas,liquid,and granular phases

Mineral aerosol particles significantly impact environmental risk prediction of liquid crystal monomers(LCMs).In this work,we investigated the reaction mechanisms and kinetics of three typical LCMs(4-cyano-3,5-difluorophenyl 4-ethylbenzoate(CEB-2F),4-cyano-3-fluorophenyl 4-ethylbenzoate(CEB-F),and 4-cyanophenyl 4-ethylbenzoate(CEB))with ozone(O_(3))in the atmospheric gas,liquid,and particle phases employing density functional theory(DFT).Here,O_(3)is prone to add to the benzene ring without F atom(s)in the selected *** ozonolysis products are aldehydes,carboxylic acids,epoxides,and unsaturated hydrocarbons containing aromatic *** products undergo secondary ozonolysis to generate small molecular compounds such as glyoxal,which is beneficial for generating secondary organic aerosol(SOA).Titanium dioxide(TiO_(2)),an essential component of mineral aerosol particles,has good adsorption properties for LCMs;however,it slightly reduces the reactivity with O_(3).At 298 K,the reaction rate constant of the selected LCMs reacting with O_(3)in the gas and atmospheric liquid phases is(2.74–5.53)×10^(-24)cm^(3)/(mol·sec)and 5.58×10^(-3)–39.1 L/(mol·sec),while CEB-2F reacting with O_(3)on(TiO_(2))_(6)cluster is 1.84×10^(-24)cm^(3)/(mol·sec).The existence of TiO_(2)clusters increases the persistence and long-distance transportability of LCMs,which enlarges the contaminated area of LCMs.

Chlorine has been widely used in different advanced oxidation processes(AOPs)for micropollutants *** this study,different chlorine-based AOPs,namely medium pressure(MP)UV/chlorine,low pressure(LP)UV/chlorine,and in-situ chlorination,were compared for carbamazepine(CBZ)removal efficiency,energy consumption,and disinfection by-products(DBPs)*** three processes could achieve nearly 100%CBZ removal,while the reaction time needed by in-situ chlorination was double the time required by UV/chlorine *** energy consumed per magnitude of CBZ removed(EE/O)of MP UV/chlorine was 13 times higher than that of LP UV/chlorine,and relative to that of in-situ chlorination ***,MP and LP UV/chlorine processes generated one to two orders of magnitude more hydroxyl radicals(^(·)OH)and reactive chlorine species(RCS)than in-situ ***,RCS were the dominant reactive species,contributing to 78.3%,75.6%,and 71.6% of CBZ removal in MP,LP UV/chlorine,and in-situ chlorination,*** to the Gibbs free energy barriers between CBZ and RCS/^(·)OH calculated based on density functional theory(DFT),RCS had more reaction routes with CBZ and showed lower energy barrier in the main CBZ degradation pathways like epoxidation and formation of *** applied to secondary wastewater effluent,UV/chlorine and in-situ chlorination produced overall DBPs ranging from 104.77 to 135.41μg/***,the production of chlorate during UV/chlorine processes was 15 times higher than that during in-situ chlorination.

The hybrid manifold micro-pin-fin(MMPF)heat sink combined nozzle jets is an option for large-scale integrated circuits(LSI).The demond for uniform and ultra-high heat flux removal by MMPF heat sink has not been adequately *** work aims to solve the problem of fluid *** proposed basic tiling topologies,including square,regular hexagon,30°rhombus,and 60°rhombus topologies,provide different organized fluid flows and heat transfer *** present study focuses on comparing these topologies according to independent porous medium parameters,such as nozzle pore size D_(Z),flow pore size D_(X,Y),and porosityε.The results show that the square topology achieves the smallest total thermal resistance R_(tot)value of0.0975×10^(-4)K m^2/W,while the hexagon topology achieved the highest value of COP/?T,which was 2033.9 K^(-1).According to the sensitivity analysis results,the optimal total thermal resistance can be obtained by balancing the influences of nozzle pore size,flow pore size,and *** optimal pressure drop can be obtained by maximizing the porosity.

Potentially Suitable Area and Change Trends of Tulipa iliensis under Climate Change

Tulipa iliensis,as a wild plant resource,possesses high ornamental value and can provide abundant parental materials for tulip *** objective of this research was to forecast the worldwide geographical spread of Tulipa iliensis by considering bioclimatic,soil,and topographic variables,the findings of this research can act as a benchmark for the conservation,management,and utilization of Tulipa iliensis as a wild plant *** results indicate that all 12 models have an area under curve(AUC)of the receiver operating characteristic curve(ROC)values greater than 0.968 for the paleoclimatic,current,and future climate scenarios,this suggests an exceptionally high level of predictive accuracy for the *** distribution of Tulipa iliensis is influenced by several key *** factors include the mean temperature of the driest quarter(Bio9),calcium carbonate content(T_CACO3),slope,precipitation of the driest month(Bio14),Basic saturation(T_BS),and precipitation of the coldest quarter(Bio19).During the three paleoclimate climate scenarios,the appropriate habitats for Tulipa iliensis showed a pattern of expansion-contraction ***,the total suitable area accounted for 13.38%,12.28%,and 13.28%of the mainland area,*** to the current climate scenario,the High-suitability area covers 61.78472×10^(4)km^(2),which accounts for 6.57%of the total suitable area,The Midsuitability area covers 190.0938×10^(4)km^(2),accounting for 20.2%of the total suitable area,this represents a decrease of 63.53%~67.13%compared to the suitable area of Tulipa iliensis under the paleoclimate *** the Shared Socioeconomic Pathways(SSP)scenarios,in 2050 and 2090,Tulipa iliensis is projected to experience a decrease in the High,Mid,and Low-suitability areas under the SSP126 climate scenario by 7.10%~12.96%,2.96%~4.27%and 4.80%~7.96%,*** to the SSP245 scenario,the high suitability area experienced a slight expansion of

Abnormalities in the transition betweenα-helices andβ-sheets(α-βtransition)may lead to devastating neurodegenerative diseases,such as Parkinson's syndrome and Alzheimer's *** liquids(ILs)are potential drugs for targeted therapies against these diseases because of their excellent bioactivity and designability of ***,the mechanism through which ILs regulate the aα-βtransition remains ***,a combination of GPU-accelerated microsecond molecular dynamics simulations,correlation analysis,and machine learning was used to probe the dynamicalα-βtransition process induced by ILs of 1-alkyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride([Cnmim]cl)and its molecular ***,the cation of[C,mim]+in ILs can spontaneously insert into the peptides as free ions(n≤10)and clusters(n≥11).Such insertion can significantly inhibit theα-β,transition and the inhibiting ability for the clusters is more significant than that of free ions,where[Ciomim]+and[Ci2mim]+can reduce the maximumβ-sheet content of the peptide by 18.5%and 44.9%,***,the correlation analysis and machine learning method were used to develop a predictive model accounting for the influencing factors on theα-βtransition,which could accurately predict the effect of ILs on theα-β***,these quantitative results may not only deepen the understanding of the role of ILs in theα-βtransition but also guide the development of the IL-based treatments for related diseases.

Personalized treatment of well-differentiated gastric neuroendocrine tumors based on clinicopathological classification and grading:A multicenter retrospective study

Background:The incidence of well-differentiated gastric neuroendocrine tumors(G-NET)is increasing annually,and while they have a good prognosis and low mortality rate,their high recurrence rate makes treatment options *** study aims to determine the relationship between individualized treatment plans and the recurrence of ***:We performed a multicenter,retrospective study of 94 patients with highly differentiated G-NET and treated at Peking Union Medical College Hospital,Yantai Yuhuangding Hospital,and Beijing Zhong-Neng-Jian Hospital from November 2015 to September *** factors for recurrence of G-NETs were investigated using chi-squared test and multifactorial logistic regression ***:After a median follow-up of 49 months,the overall recurrence rate among the 94 G-NET patients was 14%(13/94).The recurrence rates of endoscopic mucosal resection(EMR),endoscopic submucosal dissection(ESD),somatostatin analog(SSA)therapy,and surgery were 43%(6/14),10%(5/49),5%(1/22),and 11%(1/9),***-treatment recurrence rates were significantly different(P=0.014)among four treatments(EMR,ESD,SSA,and surgery),and further subgroup comparisons revealed lower recurrence rates in the ESD and SSA groups than in the EMR *** the second month onward,SSA therapy considerably reduced the gastrin levels from 1081.0(571.5,2472.8)pg/mL to 461.5(255.3,795.0)pg/mL(Z=-3.521,P<0.001).Both chi-squared test and multifactorial logistic regression analysis suggested that among the clinicopathological parameters studied,only the pre-treatment gastrin level(P=0.018 and 0.005)and the type of treatment(P=0.014 and 0.017)were significantly associated with G-NET ***:Individualized treatment strategies may reduce the risk of relapse after G-NET ***-term SSA therapy may be a secure and efficacious treatment option for type 1 G-NET with more than six lesions,and it substantially decreases the incidence of post-treatment rec
