Electrochemical CO_(2)reduction reaction(CO_(2)RR)to high-value product,CO,not only provides a key feedstock for the wellestablished Fischer-Tropsch process but also mitigates the greenhouse ***,it suffers from sluggish reaction kinetics,competitive hydrogen evolution reaction,and low ***,we report non-precious Cu-Sn diatomic sites anchored on nitrogen-doped porous carbon(CuSn/NPC)as an efficient catalyst for CO_(2)RR to *** catalyst exhibits outstanding selectivity with CO Faradaic efficiency(FE)up to 99.1%,much higher than those of individual Cu(66.2%)and Sn(51.3%)single-atom ***,high stability is confirmed by consecutive 24 h electrolysis with high selectivity from CO_(2)to *** calculations reveal an obvious activation of CO_(2)with weakened C-O bonds and distorted CO_(2)configuration upon chemisorption on the CuSn/NPC *** is also suggested CuSn/NPC is more selective for the CO_(2)RR with dominant CO production during the electrolysis,rather than the competing hydrogen evolution reaction.

Developing highly efficient non-R catalysts for fuel cells and metal-air batteries is highly desirable but still challenging due to the sluggish oxygen reduction reaction(ORR).Herein,a facile and efficient strategy is demonstrated to prepare N-doped carbon encapsulated ordered Pd-Fe intermetallic(O-Pd-Fe@NC/C)nanoparticles via a one-step thermal annealing *** obtained O-Pd-Fe@NC/C nanoparticles show enhanced ORR activity,durability and anti-poisoning capacity in both acid and alkaline *** O-Pd-Fe@NC/C serving as cathode catalyst for Zn-air battery,it exhibits higher voltage platform and superior cycling performance with respect to the Zn-air battery based on the mixture of Pt/C and Ir/C *** enhanced electrocatalytic performance can be ascribed to the formation of face-centered tetragonal(fct)Pd-Fe nanoparticles,the protective action of the N-doped carbon layer and the interface confinement effect between *** in situ formed N-doped carbon shell not only restrains the Pd-Fe ordered intermetallics from aggregating effectively during the thermal annealing process,but also provides a strong anchoring effect to avoid the detachment of Pd-Fe nanoparticles from the carbon support during the potential *** facile carbon encapsulation strategy may also be extended to the preparation of a wide variety of N-doped carbon encapsulated intermetallic compounds for fuel cell application.

Ultrafast Preparation of Nonequilibrium FeNi Spinels by Magnetic Induction Heating for Unprecedented Oxygen Evolution Electrocatalysis

Carbon-supported nanocomposites are attracting particular attention as high-performance,low-cost electrocatalysts for electrochemical water *** are mostly prepared by pyrolysis and hydrothermal procedures that are time-consuming(from hours to days)and typically difficult to produce a nonequilibrium ***,for the first time ever,we exploit magnetic induction heating-quenching for ultrafast production of carbon-FeNi spinel oxide nanocomposites(within seconds),which exhibit an unprecedentedly high performance towards oxygen evolution reaction(OER),with an ultralow overpotential of only+260 mV to reach the high current density of 100 mA cm^(-2).Experimental and theoretical studies show that the rapid heating and quenching process(ca.10^(3)K s^(-1))impedes the Ni and Fe phase segregation and produces a Cl-rich surface,both contributing to the remarkable catalytic *** from this study highlight the unique advantage of ultrafast heating/quenching in the structural engineering of functional nanocomposites to achieve high electrocatalytic performance towards important electrochemical reactions.

In the present work, we report nitrogen and phosphorus co-doped 3-D structured carbon nanotube intercalated graphene nanoribbon composite. The graphene nanoribbons are prepared via partial exfoliation of multi-walled carbon nanotubes. In the graphene nanoribbons/CNTs composite, carbon nanotubes play a role of skeleton and support the exfoliated graphene nanoribbons to form the stereo structure. After high temperature heat-treatment with ammonium dihydrogen phosphate, the unique structure reserves both the properties of carbon nanotube and graphene, exhibiting excellent catalytic performance for the ORR with excellent onset and half-wave potential, which is similar to commercial Pt/C electrocatalysts.

Multi-component active materials are widely used for organic electronic devices, with every component contributing complementary and synergistic optoelectronic functions. Mixing these components generally leads to lowered crystallinity and weakened charge transport. Therefore, preparing the active materials without substantially disrupting the crystalline lattice is highly desired. Here, we show that crystallization of TIPS-pentacene from solutions in the presence of fluorescent nanofibers of a perylene bisimide derivative （PBI） leads to formation of composites with nanoflber guest incorporated in the crystal host. In spite of the binary composite structure, the TIPS-pentacene maintains the single- crystalline nature. As a result, the incorporation of the PB1 guest introduces additional fluorescence function but does not significantly reduce the charge transport property of the TIPS-pentacene host, exhibiting field-effect mobility as high as 3.34 cm^2 V^-1 s^-1 even though 26.4% of the channel area is taken over by the guest. As such, this work provides a facile approach toward high-performance multifunctional organic electronic materials.

Visualizing the toughening origins of gel-grown calcite single-crystal composites

Biogenic single crystals have been widely demonstrated to incorporate macromolecules to achieve extra damage tolerance, spurring investigations on their synthetic analogs with enhanced mechanical properties as well as the enhancement mechanism（s） behind. And the investigations rely on both rational design of the single-crystal composites and, equally importantly, nanoscale and in-situ characterization strategy. Here, composite structures are constructed inside the calcite single-crystal host by incorporating guest materials of agarose fibers, multi-walled carbon nanotubes （MWCNTs）, and graphene oxide （GO）, through crystallization in agarose gel media. Further, transmission electron microscopy-scanning probe microscopy （TEM-SPM） method, coupling compression measurements with nanoscale imaging, shows that the obtained single-crystal composites exhibit improved toughness, compared to the solution-grown pure single crystals. Particularly, the rupture time increases by 1.25 times after the gel-networks and MWCNTs are incorporated. More importantly, the in-situ observation of the crystal deformation suggests that the guest incorporation toughens the single-crystal host by the shielding effect of nanofiber on crack-bridging at nanoscale. As such, this work may have implications for understanding the damage tolerance of biominerals as well as towards the development of new mechanically reinforced single-crystal composite materials.

The Inheritance and Variation of Gum Content in Guar [Cyamopsis tetragonoloba (l.) Taub.]

Guar [Cyamopsis tetragonoloba （l.） Taub.] is one of the most important industrial crops due to its richness in gum. Understanding the inheritance of gum content is a key to its successful genetic improvement. Gum content expression is reported to be controlled by additive, dominant, and epistatic effects, and modified by the environment, fg%, a relative gum content calculated by comparing with the gum content of Kinman was used as gum content （%） in this experiment. Reciprocal crosses of two lines of guar, PI 217923 and lewis, were made to study the heritability of gum content （fg%）. fg% of four plant introductions and four commercial varieties were studied in lubbock in 1999-2002. Estimates of broadsense heritability （h^2 b,s.） of fg% in lewis x PI 217923 and PI 217923 x lewis were 75.53 and 52.74%, respectively. Estimates of narrow-sense heritability （h2 n.s.） of fg% were 40.00 and 29.00% thr lewis x PI 217923 and PI 217923 x lewis, respectively. At least one pair of genes were estimated to control the fg% expression in these two crosses, Significant differences of fg% were found among these eight entries. PI 217923 was found to have the highest fg% among the eight entries.

Poisson Stable Solutions for Stochastic Differential Equations with lévy Noise

In this paper,we use a unified framework to study Poisson stable(including stationary,periodic,quasi-periodic,almost periodic,almost automorphic,Birkhoff recurrent,almost recurrent in the sense of Bebutov,levitan almost periodic,pseudo-periodic,pseudo-recurrent and Poisson stable)solutions for semilinear stochastic differential equations driven by infinite dimensional l′evy noise with large *** suitable conditions on drift,diffusion and jump coefficients,we prove that there exist solutions which inherit the Poisson stability of *** we show that these solutions are globally asymptotically stable in square-mean ***,we illustrate our theoretical results by several examples.

The Antagonistic Effects of l-dopa and Eserine on Al-induced Neurobehavioral Deficits in Rats

The main goals of the study were to elucidate the mechanism of Al-induced behavioral toxicity and to explore the possible link between the changes in the metabolism of monoaminergic or cholinergic transmitters and neurobehavioral *** groups (12 rats in each group) were fed with aluminum chloride in drinking water (1600 mg/l) ad libitum through a 90-day exposure Period. The controls were fed with distilled water. From the 60th to 90th day of treatment, two of the three Al-treated groups were administered with l-dopa (220 mg/kg. bw) and eserine (0. 4 mg/kg. bw)by gavage, respectively. A twcritem neurobehavioral test battery consisting of step down test and Morris water maze task was used for rats after three months treatment. In thestepdown test, markedly shortened the step-down latency (SDl) and the number of step-down (NSD) were observed in the Al-treated group (P l). On the contrary, oniy slight changes were found in the rats treated with aluminum combined with l-dopa or eserine (P > 0. 05, vs control ). In eserine and l-dopa antagonized groups, the mean escape latencies of Morris water maze approached a level close to that of the controls (P >0. 05). The results showed that the Al-induced memory and learning impairment could be reduced by l-dopa or eserine. It is suggested that the depletion of dopaminergic and cholinergic transmitters in the central nervous system might play an important role in Al-induced neurotoxicty
