In this work,we demonstrate that the corrosion resistance of the FeCrNiCoNb_(0.5) eutectic high entropy alloy(EHEA)can be tuned by controlling the size of its eutectic *** microstructure refinement,the EHEA exhibits a superb corrosion resistance in 1 M NaCl in terms of a very low corrosion current density and an ultra-high transpassviation potential,which outperforms a variety of other HEAs and conventional metals and *** the fundamental level,the microstructure refinement results in a rapid formation of a thick and compact passive film with less Cl-adsorption on the EHEA,which results in significant enhancement in its corrosion *** outcome of our research provides important insights into the design of corrosion resistant chemically complex alloys.

In this study,we used a network meta-analysis(NMA)to compare the effectiveness of medicines and supplements for idiopathic male infertility and to identify the best ***,Excerpta Medica Database(EMBASE),Ovid,and China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI),were searched for the period from January 1990 to June 2021 using the keywords"male infertility,""medical therapy,""supplement/nutrient therapy,"and related *** controlled trials(RCTs)investigating medicines(mainly follicle-stimulating hormone(FSH),androgen,and clomiphene/tamoxifen)or supplements(mainly zinc,selenium,vitamin C or E,carnitine,coenzyme q10(Coq10),or combined treatment)for idiopathic infertile men were selected for *** reporting items for systematic reviews and meta-analysis(PRISMA)was used for data extraction,and a risk-of-bias tool and grades of recommendation,assessment,development,and evaluation(GRADE)system adapted to the NMA were employed to assess the quality of the *** primary outcomes were live birth and spontaneous pregnancy rate(SPR).The secondary outcomes were sperm parameters(including concentration,progressive motility,and morphology)and side *** total,65 RCTs involving 7541 men with sperm abnormalities but normal hormone levels were included.A total of 36 studies reported SPR but only three reported live birth *** quality of the included studies was found to be moderate to *** with a placebo or being untreated,carnitine plus vitamins significantly improved SPR(relative risk(RR)=3.7,95%confidence interval(95%CI),1.6-8.5);fatty acids significantly increased sperm concentrations(mean difference(MD)=12.5×10^(6)mL-1,95%CI,3.1×10^(6)-22.0×10^(6));and selective estrogen receptor modulator(SERM)plus Coq10 significantly improved sperm progressive motility(MD=11.0%,95%CI,0.1%-21.9%)and normal sperm morphology(MD=11.0%,95%CI,4.6%-17.4%).The most optimal intervention was carnitine plus vitamins and fatty acids for SPR a

An adaptive proportional–integral–derivative(PID)controller based on q-learning algorithm is proposed to balance the cart–pole system in simulation *** controller was trained using q-learning algorithm and implemented the learned q-tables to change the gains of linear PID controllers according to the state of the system during the control *** adaptive PID controller based on q-learning algorithm was trained from a set of fixed initial positions and was able to balance the system starting from a series of initial positions that are different from the ones used in the training session,which achieved equivalent or even better performances in comparison with the conventional PID controller and the controller only uses q-learning *** indicates the advantage of the adaptive PID controller based on q-learning algorithm both in the generality of balancing the cart–pole system from a relatively wide range of initial positions and in the stabilisability of achieving smaller steady-state error.

Numerical studies on internal fire whirls(IFW)generated in a vertical shaft model with a single corner gap were reported in this *** generation of IFW,burning rate of fuel and temperature were studied experimentally *** simulations on medium-scale IFW were carried out using a fully-coupled large eddy simulation incorporating subgrid scale turbulence and a fire source with heat release rates compiled from experimental *** transient flame shape was studied and then simulated numerically by using *** dynamic phenomena of generation and development of IFW were simulated and then compared with experimental *** predicted results were validated by comparing with experimental data,which demonstrated that an IFW can be simulated by Computational Fluid *** results for flame surface,temperature,and flame length agreed well with the experimental *** IFW flame region and intermittent region were longer than those for an ordinary pool *** modified empirical formula for centerline temperature was *** of vertical and tangential velocity in axial and radial directions were also *** vortex core radius was found to be determined by the fuel bed *** field was not measured extensively due to resources *** measured temperature distribution with predictions is acceptable because temperature is related to the heat release rate,air flow and pressure gradient.

We investigated the mechanical and microstructural responses of a high-strength equal-molar medium entropy FeCrNi alloy at 293 and 15 K by in situ neutron diffraction *** 293 K,the alloy had a very high yield strength of 651±12 MPa,with a total elongation of 48%±5%.At 15 K,the yield strength increased to 1092±22 MPa,but the total elongation dropped to 18%±1%.Via analyzing the neutron diffraction data,we determined the lattice strain evolution,single-crystal elastic constants,stacking fault probability,and estimated stacking fault energy of the alloy at both temperatures,which are the critical parameters to feed into and compare against our first-principles calculations and dislocation-based slip system *** density functional theory calculations show that the alloy tends to form shortrange order at room ***,atom probe tomography and atomic-resolution transmission electron microscopy did not clearly identify the short-range ***,at 293 K,experimental measured single-crystal elastic constants did not agree with those determined by first-principles calculations with short-range order but agreed well with the values from the calculation with the disordered configuration at 2000 *** suggests that the alloy is at a metastable state resulted from the fabrication *** view of the high yield strength of the alloy,we calculated the strengthening contribution to the yield strength from grain boundaries,dislocations,and lattice *** lattice distortion contribution was based on the Varenne-Luque-Curtine strengthening theory for multi-component alloys,which was found to be 316 MPa at 293 K and increased to 629 MPa at 15 K,making a significant contribution to the high yield *** plastic deformation,dislocation movement and multiplication were found to be the dominant hardening mechanism at both temperatures,whereas twinning and phase transformation were not *** is mainly due to the high stack
