Insights into carbon-based materials for catalytic dehydrogenation of low-carbon alkanes and ethylbenzene

Direct dehydrogenation with high selectivity and oxidative dehydrogenation with low thermal limit has been regarded as promising methods to solve the increasing demands of light olefins and *** catalysts have shown remarkable performance for these reactions,such as Pt,CrOx,Co,ZrOx,Zn and *** with metal-based catalysts,carbon materials with stable structure,rich pore texture and large surface area,are ideal platforms as the catalysts and the supports for dehydrogenation *** this review,carbon materials applied in direct dehydrogenation and oxidative dehydrogenation reactions including ordered mesoporous carbon,carbon nanodiamond,carbon nanotubes,graphene and activated carbon,are summarized.A general introduction to the dehydrogenation mechanism and active sites of carbon catalysts is briefly presented to provide a deep understanding of the carbon-based materials used in dehydrogenation *** unique structure of each carbon material is presented,and the diversified synthesis methods of carbon catalysts are *** approaches for promoting the catalytic activity of carbon catalysts are elaborated with respect to preparation method optimization,suitable structure design and heteroatom *** regeneration mechanism of carbon-based catalysts is discussed for providing guidance on catalytic performance *** addition,carbon materials as the support of metal-based catalysts contribute to exploiting the excellent catalytic performance of catalysts due to superior structural *** the end,the challenges in current research and strategies for future improvements are proposed.

Preparation and hydrogen storage properties of an Li-Mg-N-H system

An Li-Mg-N-H system has been synthesized from Mg(NH2)2 and LiH in the ratio 3:8 by a ball-milling process and its dehydrogenation/rehydrogenation properties at around 190℃ were investigated. XRD, FTIR and TG results showed that the system was composed of an LiH phase and an amorphous Mg(NH2)2 phase with a purity of 90%. A reversible hydrogen storage capacity of 4.7% was observed during the first cycle and more than 90% of the stored hydrogen was desorbed within 100 min for each cycle. However, only 4.2% and 2.9%, respectively, of hydrogen was observed during two subsequent dehydrogenation cycles. In situ GC results showed that no NH3 could be observed during the dehydrogenation process. On the basis of the SEM and XRD results, the loss in hydrogen storage capacity can be mainly attributed to agglomeration, oxidation and crystallization of the materials.

The character of Thurston's circle packings

We introduce the character of Thurston's circle packings in the hyperbolic background ***, some quite simple criteria are obtained for the existence of hyperbolic circle packings. For example,if a closed surface X admits a circle packing with all the vertex degrees d_(i)≥7, then it admits a unique complete hyperbolic metric so that the triangulation graph of the circle packing is isotopic to a geometric decomposition of X. This criterion is sharp due to the fact that any closed hyperbolic surface admits no triangulations with all d_(i)≤6. As a corollary, we obtain a new proof of the uniformization theorem for closed surfaces with genus g≥2;moreover, any hyperbolic closed surface has a geometric decomposition. To obtain our results, we use Chow-Luo's combinatorial Ricci flow as a fundamental tool.

The adsorptive separation of C_(2)H_(4)and C_(2)H_(6),as an alternative to distillation units consuming high energy,is a promising yet challenging *** great similarity in the molecular size of C_(2)H_(4)and C_(2)H_(6)brings challenges to the regulation of adsorbents to realize efficient dynamic ***,we reported the enhancement of the kinetic separation of C_(2)H_(4)/C_(2)H_(6)by controlling the crystal size of ZnAtzPO_(4)(Atz=3-amino-1,2,4-triazole)to amplify the diffusion difference of C_(2)H_(4)and C_(2)H_(6).Through adjusting the synthesis temperature,reactant concentration,and ligands/metal ions molar ratio,ZnAtzPO4 crystals with different sizes were *** single-component kinetic adsorption tests and binary-component dynamic breakthrough experiments confirmed the enhancement of the dynamic separation of C_(2)H_(4)/C_(2)H_(6)with the increase in the crystal size of ZnAtzPO_(4).The separation selectivity of C_(2)H_(4)/C_(2)H_(6)increased from 1.3 to 98.5 with the increase in the crystal size of ZnAtzPO_(4).This work demonstrated the role of morphology and size control of adsorbent crystals in the improvement of the C_(2)H_(4)/C_(2)H_(6)kinetic separation performance.

Chinese alligator hatchlings in captivity are fragile and have a high mortality rate within first *** body mass gain of reptile animals is closely related to their feeding behavior and gut *** study analyzed the intrinsic factors influencing the allometric growth of Chinese alligator hatchlings based on their body mass gain,feeding behavior,and gut *** information would enhance the health management of Chinese alligator *** was a significant correlation between the total distance moved,the average number of conspecifics nearby,and body mass *** alligator hatchlings with a greater growth rate showed greater activity and more independent behavior during feeding than those with a lower growth ***,after feeding started,some functions of the gut microbiota showed significant relationships with growth rate and feeding *** alligator hatchlings with a greater growth rate showed greater levels of heme biosynthesis than those with a lower growth rate,and feeding activity was inhibited by long-chain fatty acid *** results elucidate the relationships between health,feeding behavior,and the gut microbiota of Chinese alligator *** the intrinsic factors of their health and feeding behavior can improve the health management of Chinese alligator hatchlings in captivity for conservation.

Mutual antagonism of mouse-adaptation mutations in HA and PA proteins on H9N2 virus replication

Avian H9N2 viruses have wide host range among the influenza A ***,knowledge of H9N2 mammalian adaptation is *** explore the molecular basis of the adaptation to mammals,we performed serial lung passaging of the H9N2 strain A/chicken/Hunan/8.27 YYGK3W3-OC/2018(3W3)in mice and identified six mutations in the hemagglutinin(HA)and polymerase acidic(PA)*** L226Q,T511I,and A528V of HA were responsible for enhanced pathogenicity and viral replication in mice;notably,HA-L226Q was the key *** T97I,I545V,and S594G of PA contributed to enhanced polymerase activity in mammalian cells and increased viral replication levels in vitro and in ***-T97I increased viral polymerase activity by accelerating the viral polymerase complex *** findings revealed that the viral replication was affected by the presence of PA-97I and/or PA-545V in combination with a triple-point HA ***,the double-and triple-point PA mutations demonstrated antagonistic effect on viral replication when combined with ***,any combination of PA mutations,along with double-point HA mutations,resulted in antagonistic effect on viral *** also observed antagonism in viral replication between PA-545V and PA-97I,as well as between HA-528V and *** findings demonstrated that several antagonistic mutations in HA and PA proteins affect viral replication,which may contribute to the H9N2 virus adaptation to mice and mammalian *** findings can potentially contribute to the monitoring of H9N2 field strains for assessing their potential risk in mammals.
