AIM: To study the inhibitory effect of baculovirus- mediated normal epithelial cell specific-1 (NES1) gene therapy on gastric cancer (GC) in vitro and in vivo. METHODS: We first constructed recombinant baculovirus vectors and then transfected them into gastric cancer cells (SGC-7901). Efficiency of the baculovirus for gene transfer into SGC-7901 cells and cell growth curves were detected by fluorescence microscopy, Western blot and 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol- 2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT) assay in vitro, respectively. The therapeutic effect of this gene therapy on GC was confirmed in xenografted nude mice. Tumor growth was determined by tumor volume, and expression of NES1 in tumor was analyzed by immunohistochemistry. RESULTS: Baculovirus vectors were successfully transfected into SGC-7901 cells. SGC-7901 cells transfected with the NES1 gene inhibited cell growth. In the Bac-NES1 treated group, tumor growth was significantly reduced with a high level of NES1 expression CONCLUSION: Baculovirus-mediated NES1 gene can be used in gene therapy for GC.

Hydraulic fracturing and permeability enhancement are effective methods to improve low-permeability coal ***,few studies focused on methods to increase permeability,and there are no suitable prediction methods for engineering *** this work,PFC2D software was used to simulate coal seam hydraulic *** results were used in a coupled mathematical model of the interaction between coal seam deformation and gas *** results show that the displacement and velocity of particles increase in the direction of minimum principal stress,and the cracks propagate in the direction of maximum principal *** gas pressure drop rate and permeability increase rate of the fracture model are higher than that of the non-fracture *** parameters decrease rapidly with an increase in the drainage time and approach *** longer the hydraulic fracturing time,the more complex the fracture network is,and the faster the gas pressure ***,the impact of fracturing on the gas drainage effect declines over *** the fracturing time increases,the difference between the horizontal and vertical permeability ***,this difference decreases as the gas drainage time *** higher the initial void pressure,the faster the gas pressure drops,and the greater the permeability increase ***,the influence of the initial void pressure on the permeability declines over *** research results provide guidance for predicting the anti-reflection effect of hydraulic fracturing in underground coal mines.

Large-scale parallel gene expression analysis has provided a greater ease for investigating the underlying mechanisms of Duchenne muscular dystrophy(DMD).Previous studies typically implemented variance/regression analysis,which would be fundamentally flawed when unaccounted sources of variability in the arrays *** we aim to identify genes that contribute to the pathology of DMD using partial least squares(PLS)based *** carried out PLS-based analysis with two datasets downloaded from the Gene Expression Omnibus(GEO)database to identify genes contributing to the pathology of *** for the genes related to inflammation,muscle regeneration and extracellular matrix(ECM)modeling,we found some genes with high fold change,which have not been identified by previous studies,such as SRPX,GPNMB,SAT1,and *** addition,downregulation of the fatty acid metabolism pathway was found,which may be related to the progressive muscle wasting *** results provide a better understanding for the downstream mechanisms of DMD.

Communication between sympathetic nerves and the immune system is a crucial and active process during myocardial ischemia(MI),as myocardial damage and inflammatory stimuli concurrently *** nerves undergo structural and functional changes after MI,leading to adverse left ventricular(LV)remodeling and heart failure(HF).The complex inflammatory response to MI,including local myocardial anti-inflammatory repair and systemic immune reactions,plays a key role in adverse LV ***,we review the progressive structural and electrophysiological remodeling of the LV and the involvement of sympathetic tone in complex and dynamic processes that are susceptible to MI pathological *** has been reported to effectively improve cardiac function,eliminate arrhythmia,and mitigate adverse LV remodeling via somatosensory regulation after ***,acupuncture has an anti-inflammatory effect on the pathological process of myocardial *** this Review,we aim to summarize the involvement of sympathetic nerve activation in the neuro-immune modulation of structural and functional cardiac changes after *** a noninvasive method for sympathetic regulation,acupuncture is an ideal option because of its anti-ischemic efficacy.A better understanding of the neural circuitry that regulates cardiac function and immune responses following MI could reveal novel targets for acupuncture treatment.

Fracability is a property that indicates how easy reservoir rocks can be fractured in hydraulic fracturing *** is a key parameter for fracturing design and *** order to utilize continuous logging data to predict fracability,synchronous tests of dynamic and static mechanical parameters of rocks under different confining pressures were conducted on13 tight sandstone samples derived from the central Junggar Basin,China.A modified formula between dynamic and static mechanical parameters was *** of the tight reservoir in the Junggar Basin was then evaluated based on brittleness index,fracture toughness,and fracability *** effectiveness of fracturing was analyzed combined with the oil testing curve after hydraulic *** results show that:(1)The distribution of oil-bearing formations in the studied area coincides well with stratum of higher fracability index.(2)The critical fracability index is determined to be 0.3,three formations are selected as fracturing candidates,and a thin mudstone interbed is identified in the oil-bearing formation.(3)Well testing curve verifies the reliability of the fracability evaluation method and the accuracy of the modified formula between dynamic and static mechanical *** study provides useful information for improving fracturing operations of tight oil and gas reservoirs.

Shape correspondence between semantically similar organic shapes with large shape variations is a difficult problem in shape *** part geometries are no longer similar,we claim that the challenge is to extract and compare prominent shape substructures,which are recurring part arrangements among semantically related *** main premise is that the challenge can be solved more efficiently on curve skeleton graphs of shapes,which provide a concise abstraction of shape geometry and *** of directly searching exponentially many skeleton subgraphs,our method extracts the intrinsic reflectional symmetry axis of the skeleton to guide the generation of subgraphs as part *** any two subgraphs from two skeletons,their orientations are aligned and their pose variations are normalized for ***,the matchings of all subgraph pairs are evaluated and accumulated to the skeletal feature node *** comparison results with the state-of-the-art work show that our method significantly improves the efficiency and accuracy of the semantic correspondence between a variety of shapes.

A Computer Program for Automatic Watering Based on Potential Evapotranspiration by Penman Method and Predicted Leaf Area in Miniature Pot Rose Production

In this study, we developed a computer program for automatic prediction of watering time point by considering the environmental factors such as solar radiation, air temperature and relative humidity based on the multiple linear regression equation of leaf area and Penman Method. The experiments were carried out for a year in two watering experimental plots, one of which was controlled by pF value, and the other by the computer program. After comparing the results of the two plots, the following findings were obtained. In the computer program plot, the observed and predicted values of both leaf area and evapotranspiration indicated significant correlation at the 1% level, which suggested that the computer program had high prediction accuracy. In addition, no significant difference was observed between the two experimental plots with respects to the plant height, plant diameter, leaf area, leaf number, fresh weight, and dry weight, which demonstrated that the plants in the computer program plot had normal growth. On the other hand, although the number of flower buds and flowering shoots showed higher values at the end of certain cultivations in the computer program plot than those in pF value plot, we proposed that it was due to the effect of cumulative daily solar radiation in the greenhouse, rather than the watering. Thus, we have reached the conclusion that the computer program for automatic prediction of watering time point developed by this study has high applicability in miniature pot rose production.
