An inulin-type fructan CP-A from Codonopsis pilosula attenuates experimental colitis in mice by promoting autophagy-mediated inactivation of NLRP3 inflammasome

Inulin-type fructan CP-A,a predominant polysaccharide in Codonopsis pilosula,demonstrates regulatory effects on immune activity and *** efficacy of CP-A in treating ulcerative colitis(UC)is,however,not *** study employed an in vitro lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-induced colonic epithelial cell model(NCM460)and an in vivo dextran sulfate sodium(DSS)-induced colitis mouse model to explore CP-A’s protective effects against experimental colitis and its underlying *** monitored the clinical symptoms in mice using various parameters:body weight,disease activity index(DAI),colon length,spleen weight,and histopathological ***,molecular markers were assessed through enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA),quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction(qRT-PCR),immunofluorescence(IF),immunohistochemistry(IHC),and Western blotting *** showed that CP-A significantly reduced reactive oxygen species(ROS),tumor necrosis factor-alpha(TNF-α),and interleukins(IL-6,IL-1β,IL-18)in LPS-induced cells while increasing IL-4 and IL-10 levels and enhancing the expression of Claudin-1,ZO-1,and occludin proteins in NCM460 ***,in vivo findings revealed that CPA administration markedly improved DAI,reduced colon shortening,and decreased the production of myeloperoxidase(MPO),malondialdehyde(MDA),ROS,IL-1β,IL-18,and NOD-like receptor protein 3(NLRP3)inflammasome-associated genes/proteins in UC ***-A treatment also elevated glutathione(GSH)and superoxide dismutase(SOD)levels,stimulated autophagy(LC3B,P62,Beclin-1,and ATG5),and reinforced Claudin-1 and ZO-1 expression,thereby aiding in intestinal epithelial barrier repair in colitis ***,the inhibition of autophagy via chloroquine(CQ)diminished CP-A’s protective impact against colitis in *** findings elucidate that CP-A’s therapeutic effect on experimental colitis possibly involves mitigating intestinal inflammation through autophagymediated N

Development of Ti–V–Cr–Mn–Mo–Ce high-entropy alloys for high-density hydrogen storage in water bath environments

The V-based body-centered cubic （BCC）-type hydrogen storage alloys have attracted significant attention due to their high theoretical hydrogen storage capacity of3.80 wt%.However,their practical application faces challenges related to low dehydriding capacity and poor activation *** overcome these challenges,a BCC-type Ti–V–Cr–Mn–Mo–Ce high-entropy alloy（HEA） with an effectively dehydriding capacity of 2.5 wt% above 0.1 MPa was *** introduction of Mo and conducting heat treatment,the precipitation of Ti-rich phase in HEA was successfully suppressed,resulting in improved compositional uniformity and dehydriding ***,the effective dehydriding capacity increased significantly from 0.60 wt% to 2.50 wt% a65℃,surpassing that of other types of hydrogen storage alloys under the same ***,the addition of 1 wt%Ce enabled initial hydrogen absorption at 25℃ without the need for activation at 400℃.Furthermore,Ce doping reduced the dehydriding activation energy of the Ti–V–Cr–Mn–Mo–Ce HEA from 52.71 to 42.82 kJ·mol-1Additionally,the enthalpy value of dehydrogenation decreased from 46.89 to 17.96 k J·mol-1,attributed to a decrease in the hysteresis factor from 0.68 to *** findings provide valuable insights for optimizing the hydrogen storage property of HEA.

Interaction between adolescent sleep rhythms and gender in an obese population

BACKGROUND The obesity rate of adolescents is gradually increasing,which seriously affects their mental health,and sleep plays an important role in adolescent *** To investigate the relationship between sleep rhythm and obesity among adolescents and further explores the interactive effect of sleep rhythm and gender on adolescent obesity,providing a theoretical basis for developing interventions for adolescent *** Research data source Tianjin Mental Health Promotion Program for *** April to June 2022,this study selected 14201 students from 13 middle schools in a certain district of Tianjin as the research subject using the convenient cluster sampling *** these students,13374 accepted and completed the survey,with an effective rate of 94.2%.The demographic data and basic information of adolescents,such as height and weight,were collected through a general situation *** sleep rhythm of adolescents was evaluated using the reduced version of the morningness-eveningness *** A total of 13374 participants(6629 females,accounting for 49.56%;the average age is 15.21±1.433 years)were *** them,the survey showed that 2942 adolescent were obesity,accounting for 22%and 2104 adolescent were overweight,accounting for 15.7%.Among them,1692 male adolescents are obese,with an obesity rate of 25.1%,higher than 18.9%of female *** is a statistically significant difference between the three groups(χ2=231.522,P<0.000).The obesity group has the smallest age(14.94±1.442 years),and there is a statistical difference in age among the three groups(F=69.996,P<0.000).Obesity rates are higher among individuals who are not-only-child,have residential experience within six months,have family economic poverty,and have evening-type sleep(P<0.05).Logistic regression analysis shows a correlation between sleep rhythm and adolescent ***-type sleep rhythm can increase the risk of obesity in male adoles

This study aimed to investigate the effects of different proportions of dietary fermented sweet potato residue(FSPR) supplementation as a substitute for corn on the nutrient digestibility, meat quality, and intestinal microbes of yellow-feathered broilers. Experiment 1(force-feeding) evaluated the nutrient composition and digestibility of mixtures with different proportions of sweet potato residue(70%, 80%,90%, and 100%) before and after fermentation. In Experiment 2(metabolic growth), a total of 420 oneday-old yellow-feathered broilers were randomly allocated to 4 groups and fed corn-soybean mealbased diets with 0, 5%, 8%, and 10% FSPR as a substitute for corn. The force-feeding and metabolic growth experiments were performed for 9 and 70 d, respectively. The treatment of 70% sweet potato residue(after fermentation) had the highest levels of crude protein, ether extract, and crude fiber and improved the digestibility of crude protein and amino acids(P hough dietary FSPR supplementation at different levels had no significant effect on growth performance and intestinal morphology, it improved slaughter rate, half-chamber rate, full clearance rate, and meat color, as well as reduced cooking loss in the breast and thigh muscles(P < 0.05). Dietary supplementation with 8% and 10% FSPR increased the serum immunoglobulin M and immunoglobulin G levels in broilers(P < 0.05). Furthermore, 10% FSPR increased the Shannon index and Ruminococcaceae＿UCG-014, Ruminococcaceae＿UCG-010 and Romboutsia abundances and decreased Sutterella and Megamonas abundances(P < 0.05). Spearman's correlation analysis showed that meat color was positively correlated with Ruminococcaceae＿UCG-014(P < 0.05) and negatively correlated with Megamonas(P < 0.05). Collectively, 70% sweet potato residue(after fermentation) had the best nutritional value and nutrient digestibility. Highly crystalline carbon nitride polymers have shown great opportunities in overall water photosplitting;however,their mission in light-driven CO_(2)conversion remains to be *** this work,crystalline carbon nitride(CCN)nanosheets of poly triazine imide(PTI)embedded with melon domains are fabricated by KCl/LiCl-mediated polycondensation of dicyandiamide,the surface of which is subsequently deposited with ultrafine WO_(3)nanoparticles to construct the CCN/WO_(3)heterostructure with a S-scheme *** characterizations have been conducted to reveal the compositions and structures of the S-scheme CCN/WO_(3)hybrid,featuring strengthened optical capture,enhanced CO_(2)adsorption and activation,attractive textural properties,as well as spatial separation and directed movement of light-triggered charge *** mild conditions,the CCN/WO_(3)catalyst with optimized composition displays a high photocatalytic activity for reducing CO_(2)to CO in a rate of 23.0μmol/hr(i.e.,2300μmol/(hr·g)),which is about 7-fold that of pristine CCN,along with a high CO selectivity of 90.6%against ***,it also manifests high stability and fine reusability for the CO_(2)conversion *** CO_(2)adsorption and conversion processes on the catalyst are monitored by in-situ diffuse reflectance infrared Fourier transform spectroscopy(DRIFTS),identifying the crucial intermediates of CO_(2)^(*)-,COOH^(*)and CO^(*),which integrated with the results of performance evaluation proposes the possible CO_(2)reduction mechanism.

PVDF/6H-SiC composite fiber films with enhanced piezoelectric performance by interfacial engineering for diversified applications

Effect of Acupuncture on Endometrial Blood Flow in Women Undergoing in vitro Fertilization Embryo Transfer: A Single Blind, Randomized Controlled Trial

Objective: To evaluate the effect of manual acupuncture on endometrial blood flow parameters by three-dimensional(3D) power Doppler ultrasound in women undergoing in vitro fertilization embryo transfer(IVF-ET). Methods: Seventy patients undergoing IVF-ET were equally randomized into traditional or sham acupuncture treatment group for totally 4 days(from the day of oocyte aspiration to the day of embryo transfer) of treatment by random envelope method at the Reproductive Medicine Center and Outpatient Department of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine, Tongji Hospital, Tongji Medicine College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology from January 2013 to December 2015. Patients in the traditional acupuncture group accepted traditional acupuncture methods with manual acupuncture, and Zhongji(CV3), Qihai(CV 6), Sanyinjiao(SP6), Taichong(LR 3), Tianshu(ST 25), Guilai(ST 29) and Zusanli(ST 36) were chosen. Patients at the sham acupuncture group accepted shallow acupuncture methods at 4 non-meridian points at each shoulder and upper arm. Outcome measures included endometrial ultrasonic indices such as vascularization index(VI), flow index(FI) and vascularization flow index(VFI), endometrial thickness and volume, subendometrial VI(sVI), subendometrial FI(sFI), subendometrial VFI(sVFI), implantation rate, clinical pregnancy rate, abortion rate, live birth rate and number of live births. Results: Finally, 34 patients in the traditional acupuncture group and 35 in the sham acupuncture group completed this trial. VI, FI and VFI of the traditional acupuncture group were significantly higher than those in the sham acupuncture group(P0.05). The resin of Ferula sinkiangensis has been traditionally utilized for treating gastrointestinal disorders,inflammation,tumors,various cancers,and alopecia *** primary bioactive constituents,sesquiterpene coumarins,have demonstrated notable therapeutic potential against *** this study,a structure-guided fractionation method was used to isolate nine novel sesquiterpene coumarins from the resin of *** compounds were characterized and structurally elucidated using comprehensive physicochemical and spectroscopic techniques,including calculated electronic circular dichroism(ECD).Anti-neuroinflammatory assays revealed that compounds 2,3,and 6 significantly inhibited nitric oxide(NO)production in lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-stimulated BV2 microglial cells,with IC_(50)values ranging from 1.63 to 12.25μmol·L^(−1).
