Upgrade from aerated static pile to agitated bed systems promotes lignocellulose degradation in large-scale composting through enhanced microbial functional diversity

Composting presents a viable management solution for lignocellulose-rich municipal solid ***,our understanding about the microbial metabolic mechanisms involved in the biodegradation of lignocellulose,particularly in industrial-scale composting plants,remains *** study employed metaproteomics to compare the impact of upgrading from aerated static pile(ASP)to agitated bed(AB)systems on physicochemical parameters,lignocellulose biodegradation,and microbial metabolic pathways during largescale biowaste composting process,marking the first investigation of its *** degradation rates of lignocellulose including cellulose,hemicellulose,and lignin were significantly higher in AB(8.21%-32.54%,10.21%-39.41%,and 6.21%-26.78%)than those(5.72%-23.15%,7.01%-33.26%,and 4.79%-19.76%)in ASP at three thermal stages,*** AB system in comparison to ASP increased the carbohydrate-active enzymes(CAZymes)abundance and production of the three essential enzymes required for lignocellulose decomposition involving a mixture of bacteria and fungi(i.e.,Actinobacteria,Bacilli,Sordariomycetes and Eurotiomycetes).Conversely,ASP primarily produced exoglucanase andβ-glucosidase via fungi(i.e.,Ascomycota).Moreover,AB effectively mitigated microbial stress caused by acetic acid accumulation by regulating the key enzymes involved in acetate conversion,including acetyl-coenzyme A synthetase and acetate ***,the AB upgraded from ASP facilitated the lignocellulose degradation and fostered more diverse functional microbial communities in large-scale *** findings offer a valuable scientific basis to guide the engineering feasibility and environmental sustainability for large-scale industrial composting plants for treating lignocellulose-rich *** findings have important implications for establishing green sustainable development models(e.g.,a circular economy based onmaterial recovery)and for achieving sustainable development goals.

Multi-strain probiotics provide the most dependable approaches to improve health,immune response,and disease resistance in farmed *** the present study,we examined the effects of multi-species probiotics on the survival,growth,immune response,and disease resistance of rohu(Labeo rohita)*** hatched larvae from the day of first feeding(average weight of 0.003 g)were reared with multi-species probiotics having a combination of Bacillus subtilis(109 colony forming units(cfu)/mL)and Lactobacillus spp.(Lactobacillus plantarum,Lactobacillus buchneri-1011 cfu/mL)in water containing doses of 0(control-C),0.5 mL/L(treatment 1-T1),and 1.0 mL/L(treatment 2-T2)in triplicates for 90 *** the experiment,a challenge test was performed to assess the fish's resistance to pathogenic Aeromonas *** higher survival was recorded in larvae of treated groups(87%in T2 and 79%in T1)compared to the control(62%).Significantly higher growth performance(weight gain and specific growth rate—SGR)was shown by the probiotic-treated larval groups compared to the *** supplementation resulted in significantly higher counts of total viable colony(TVC)and lactic acid bacteria(LAB)in the *** immunological parameters(mucosal fold fattening,goblet cell abundance,expansion of lamina propria and enterocytes)of the gut were significantly better in probiotic-treated *** liver of treated fish showed irregular shape nuclei turning into regular shape and reducing spaces between the hepatic ***-treated fish had the highest post-challenge survival rate(90%)against *** *** erythrocytes of challenged fish treated with probiotics had significantly lower frequencies of various nuclear and cellular *** findings suggest that multi-species probiotic supplements could improve the survival,growth,health status,and immune response of rohu in the early stages of its development.

Background Opisthorchiid flukes, particularlyOpisthorchis viverrini,Opisthorchis felineus,Clonorchis sinensis, andMetorchis spp. are the most common fish-borne zoonotic human liver flukes (hLFs). Liver fluke infections are more prevalent in resource-deprived and underprivileged areas. We herein estimated the prevalence of the metacercariae (MC) of major hLFs in common large freshwater fishes (lFWF) marketed for human consumption from some selected areas of Bangladesh along with detection of their molluscan vectors and *** The current status of fish-borne zoonotic hLF infections in lFWF was investigated along with their molluscan vectors and mammalian reservoir hosts in Mymensingh and Kishoreganj in Bangladesh from July 2018–June 2022 using conventional and multiple molecular techniques, such as PCR, PCR-restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP), sequencing, and bioinformatic analyses. The infection rate of fishes was analyzed using theZ-test and the loads of MC were compared using the chi-squared (χ2) *** The MC ofC. sinensis,Opisthorchis spp., andMetorchis spp. were detected in 11 species of common and popular lFWF. In lFWF, the estimated prevalence was 18.7% and the mean load was 137.4 ± 149.8 MC per 100 g of fish. The prevalence was the highest (P 0.05) distributed between the head and body of fishes. The infection rate was slightly higher in cultured (19.6%) fishes. The MC ofC. sinensis,O. felineus,O. viverrini, andMetorchis orientalis in fishes were confirmed using PCR, PCR-RFLP and bioinformatics. The cercariae of opisthorchiid (Pleurolophocercus cercariae) flukes were only recovered fromBithynia spp. (3.9%, 42 out of 1089). Host associated probiotics(HAPs)provide health benefits to the host when administered as dietary ***,a short-term probiotics application strategy has yet to be optimized.A 90-days study was conducted to evaluate the response of Malaysian mahseer,Tor tambroides post larvae fed with basal diet enriched HAPs for 30-days,and its response following another 60-days feeding with only basal *** experimental diets(Enterococcus faecalis strain 2674(T1),Aeromonas *** A8-29(T2)and *** strain FC11682(T3))were prepared by spray-coating each HAPs on a basal diet at 1×108 CFU/g *** in growth performances,whole-body proximate and fatty acid composition,muscle morphometry,and gut morphology were *** showed that after 30 days,T3 fish produced highest *** HAP treatment groups showed better muscle distribution profile,improved fatty acid composition,and higher villus length,width and area,than control *** 90 days,the growth of T3 fish was still the *** distribution profile and villus growth were higher in HAP treatments,although only total n-6 PUFA,total MUFA,linoleic acids,and linolenic acids in HAP treated fish remained high after probiotics *** difference in whole-body proximate composition was observed in both 30 and 90 *** findings demonstrated that short-term application of HAPs at an early stage could be used to boost *** growth,with *** strain FC11682 showing the best efficacy.

Background: The robustness is a measurement of an analytical chemical method and its ability to contain unaffected by little with deliberate variation of analytical chemical method parameters. The analytical chemical method variation parameters are based on pH variability of buffer solution of mobile phase, organic ratio composition changes, stationary phase (column) manufacture, brand name and lot number variation;flow rate variation and temperature variation of chromatographic system. The analytical chemical method for assay of Atropine Sulfate conducted for robustness evaluation. The typical variation considered for mobile phase organic ratio change, change of pH, change of temperature, change of flow rate, change of column etc. Purpose: The aim of this study is to develop a cost effective, short run time and robust analytical chemical method for the assay quantification of Atropine in Pharmaceutical Ophthalmic Solution. This will help to make analytical decisions quickly for research and development scientists as well as will help with quality control product release for patient consumption. This analytical method will help to meet the market demand through quick quality control test of Atropine Ophthalmic Solution and it is very easy for maintaining (GDP) good documentation practices within the shortest period of time. Method: HPLC method has been selected for developing superior method to Compendial method. Both the compendial HPLC method and developed HPLC method was run into the same HPLC system to prove the superiority of developed method. Sensitivity, precision, reproducibility, accuracy parameters were considered for superiority of method. Mobile phase ratio change, pH of buffer solution, change of stationary phase temperature, change of flow rate and change of column were taken into consideration for robustness study of the developed method. The Influence of Rice Husk Ash on Mechanical Properties of the Mortar and Concrete: A Critical Review

Increasing the population and infrastructure in both emerging and developed countries requires a considerable amount of cement, which significantly affects the environment. The primary materials of concrete (‘cement’) production emit a large quantity of CO2 into the environment. Also, the cost of conventional building materials like cement gives motivation to find geopolymer waste materials for concrete. To reduce harmful effects on the environment and cost of traditional concrete substance, alternative waste materials like rice husk ash (RHA), ground granulated blast-furnace (GGBS), fly ash (FA), and metakaolin (MK) can be used due to their pozzolanic behavior. RHA waste material with a high silica concentration obtained from burning rice husks can possibly be used as a supplementary cementitious material (SCM) in the manufacturing of concrete, and its strong pozzolanic properties can contribute to the strength and impermeability of concrete. This review paper highlights a summary of the positive effect of using RHA as a partial substitute for cement in building construction, as well as its optimal inclusion of enhanced mechanical properties like compressive strength, flexural strength, and split tensile strength of mortar and concrete.
