Decoration of Electrospun Nanofibers with Magnetic Nanoparticles via Electrospinning and Sol-gel Process

Polyacrylonitrile（PAN）/Fe3O4 composite nanofibers were successfully obtained through electrospinning and sol-gel technology. The resulting magnetic Fe3O4 nanoparticles were homogeneously distributed on the surface of PAN nanofibers and the diameters of polyacrylonitrile nanofibers and nanoparticles were easily controlled, respectively. The distribution of Fe3O4 nanoparticles inside the nanofibrous composite was investigated by field emission scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy. X-ray diffraction reveals the presence of Fe3O4 nanoparticles in the composite nanofiber. The resulting sample shows a super paramagnetic behavior.

Aspirin increases susceptibility of Helicobacter pylori to metronidazole by augmenting endocellular concentrations of antimicrobials

AIM： To investigate the increasing the susceptibility pylon） to metronidazole. mechanisms of aspirin of Helicobacter pylori （H METHODS： Hpylori reference strain 26695 and two metronidazole-resistant isolates of H pylori were included in this study. Strains were incubated in Brucella broth with or without aspirin （1 mmol/L）. The rdxA gene of Hpylori was amplified by PCR and sequenced. The permeability of Hpylori to antimicrobials was determined by analyzing the endocellular radioactivity of the cells after incubated with [7-^3H]-tetracycline. The outer membrane proteins （OMPs） of Hpylori 26695 were depurated and analyzed by SDS-PAGE. The expression of 5 porins （hopA, hopB, hopC, hopD and hopE） and the putative RND efflux system （hefABC） of H pylori were analyzed using real-time quantitative PCR. RESULTS： The mutations in rdxA gene did not change in metronidazole resistant isolates treated with aspirin. The radioactivity of H pylori increased when treated with aspirin, indicating that aspirin improved the permeability of the outer membrane of H pylori. However, the expression of two OMP bands between 55 kDa and 72 kDa altered in the presence of *** expression of the mRNA of hopA, hopB, hopC, hopD, hopE and herA, hefB, hefC of H pylori did not change when treated with aspirin. CONCLUSION： Although aspirin increases the susceptibility of H pylori to metronidazole, it has no effect on the mutations of rdxA gene of Hpylori. Aspirin increases endocellular concentrations of antimicrobials probably by altering the OMP expression.

Protein-protein Interaction Between Domains of PDZ and BAR from PICK1

Two DNA fragments encoding PDZ domain （21-110 residues） and BAR domain （ 150-360 residues） from PICK1 （1-416 residues） were amplified by PCR and then introduced into vectors, pET-32M and pMAL-e2X respectively to generate recombinant plasmids, pE-pdz and pM-bar. Having been separately transferred into the hosts E. coli BL21 and E. coli JM109, these two strains can express fusion proteins： His-tagged PDZ（PDZ domain） and maltose binding protein-BAR（ MBP-BAR domain） respectively, as confirmed by both SDS-PAGE and Wostem blotting. The interaction between these two domains is dose-dependence, as identified by a pull-down test. Moreover, it has been shown from the ELISA analysis that the actual amount of PDZ bound to MBP-BAR-amylose beads reaches （ 16 ± 0. 5）%, as calculated by the molar ratio of PDZ to MBP-BAR. In addition, the interaction between BAR（bait） and PDZ（prey） in vivo was also examined with a yeast two-hybrid system.

Treatment of cutaneous lichen planus with ALA-mediated topical photodynamic therapy

Purpose:To evaluate the efectiveness of topical 5-aminolevulinie acid(ALA)-mediated pho-todynamic therapy(PDT)for the treatment of cutaneous lichen planus(LP).Methods:A total of 17 symptomatic LP lesions in 7 Chinese patients were *** cream(10%)was applied topically to LP lesions for *** lesions were iradiated with a 635 nm diode laser at the dose level of 100J/cm^(2).The treatment was repeated at two week *** assessmnent was conducted before each ***-up was performed once a month for up to six ***:Lesions showed significant improvement after one to four courses of *** response was achieved in 13 lesions(five patients)and partial remission in four lesions(two patients).The complete response rate was 71%.There was no significant side ffects except the feeling of pain that most patients could ***-up of five patients who achieved complete response showed no signs of ***:Topical ALA PDT is effective in the treatment of cutaneous LP.

Composite diffuse large B-cell lymphoma and classical Hodgkin's lymphoma of the stomach:Case report and literature review

The combination of classical Hodgkin’s lymphoma(cHL)and non-Hodgkin lymphoma coexisting in the same patient is not common,especially in one extranodal *** we present a rare case of composite diffuse large B-cell lymphoma(DLBCL)and cHL occurring simultaneously in the stomach of a 53-year-old female who presented with upper abdominal discomfort and gas *** was performed and the disease was diagnosed pathologically as composite lymphoma of DLBCL and cHL using hematoxylin-eosin and immunohistochemical ***-Barr virus(EBV)infection was not detected by in situ hybridization for EBV-encoded RNA or immunohistochemistry for EBV latent membrane *** chain reaction analysis from the two distinct components of the tumor demonstrated clonal immunoglobulinκlight chain gene *** patient died approximately 11 mo after diagnosis in spite of receiving eight courses of the CHOP and two courses of the rituximab-CHOP(RCHOP) chemotherapy *** case report showed that the two distinct components,DLBCL and cHL,appeared to originate from the same clonal progenitor cell,and that EBV infection was not essential for transformation during the course of tumorigenesis.

Formation mechanism of bimetal composite layer between LCS and HCCI

A low carbon steel （LCS）/high chromium white cast iron （HCCI） bimetal wear plate about 20 mm in thickness was prepared by liquid-liquid bimetal composite casting technology to substitute for the welding wear plate. A clear and distinguishable composite layer between the LCS and the HCCI was detected with SEM, and the composition and phase were analyzed through EDS and XRD. The composite layer was composed of three sublayers from the LCS to the HCCI： pearlite transition layer, composite layer, and HCCI transition layer. The Vickers hardness from the pearlite transition layer to the HCCl transition layer was 360 HV to 855 HV. The austenite grows as dendrites between the composite layer and the HCCI transition layer under constitutional undercooling. A large amount of C and Cr, and a small amount of Si and Mn dissolve in the matrix. Granular Cr7C3 is uniformly distributed. Due to the solute redistribution at the solid-liquid interface, the primary austenite grows from planar to cellular and finally to the distinct dendrite crystals. The dendrite crystals have an obvious growth direction perpendicular to the composite layer.

Osteoprotegerin,interleukin and hepatocyte growth factor for prediction of diabetes and hypertension in the third trimester of pregnancy

BACKGROUND Gestational diabetes mellitus(GDM)raises the risk of high blood pressure and may cause a series of life-threatening complications in pregnant *** and management of GDM and gestational hypertension(GH)in pregnancy helps to control and reduce these risks and prevent adverse effects on mothers and their ***,the majority criteria used for screening of diabetes mellitus is oral glucose tolerance tests,and blood pressure test is usually used for the screening and diagnosis of ***,these criteria might not anticipate or detect all GDM or GH ***,new specific predictive and diagnostic tools should be evaluated for this *** study selected three biomarkers of osteoprotegerin(OPG),interleukin(IL)and hepatocyte growth factor(HGF)for GDM and GH predication and *** To explore the feasibility of changes in placental and serum OPG,IL and HGF as tools for prediction and diagnosis of diabetes and hypertension in pregnant *** From January 2018 to January 2019,44 pregnant women with GDM and GH were selected as an observation group,and 44 healthy pregnant women were selected as a control group in the same *** OPG,IL and HGF were compared between the two *** The levels of OPG and HGF in the observation group were lower than in the control group,and the level of IL-1βwas higher in the observation group than in the control group(all P<0.05).Furthermore,OPG and HGF were negatively associated with gestational diabetes and gestational hypertension,while IL-1βwas positively associated with GDM complicated with GH(all P<0.05).CONCLUSION The evaluation of serum OPG,HGF and IL-1βlevels in patients with coexistent gestational diabetes complicated with hypertension can predict the degree of disease and play an important role in the follow-up treatment and prognosis prediction.
