Primary sclerosing cholangitis(PSC)is an autoimmune disease characterized by chronic cholestasis,a persistent inflammation of the bile ducts that leads to sclerotic occlusion and *** microbes,consisting of microorganisms colonized in the human gut,play an important role in nutrient intake,metabolic homeostasis,immune regulation,and immune regulation;however,their presence might aid PSC *** have found that gut-liver axis interactions also play an important role in the pathogenesis of *** with PSC have considerably reduced intestinal flora diversity and increased abundance of potentially pathogenic *** of the intestinal flora leads to increased intestinal permeability,homing of intestinal lymphocytes,entry of bacteria and their associated metabolites,such as bile acids,into the liver,stimulation of hepatic immune activation,and promotion of ***,PSC effective treatment is ***,a number of studies have recently investigated the targeted modulation of gut microbes for the treatment of various liver diseases(alcoholic liver disease,metabolic fatty liver,cirrhosis,and autoimmune liver disease).In addition,antibiotics,fecal microbiota transplantation,and probiotics have been reported as successful PSC therapies as well as for the treatment of gut dysbiosis,suggesting their effectiveness for PSC ***,this review briefly summarizes the role of intestinal flora in PSC with the aim of providing new insights into PSC treatment.

Prostate cancer prediction forest algorithm that takes using the random into account transrectal ultrasound findings, age, and serum levels of prostate-specific antigen

The aim of this study is to evaluate the ability of the random forest algorithm that combines data on transrectal ultrasound findings, age, and serum levels of prostate-specific antigen to predict prostate carcinoma. Clinico-demographic data were analyzed for 941 patients with prostate diseases treated at our hospital, including age, serum prostate-specific antigen levels, transrectal ultrasound findings, and pathology diagnosis based on ultrasound-guided needle biopsy of the prostate. These data were compared between patients with and without prostate cancer using the Chi-square test, and then entered into the random forest model to predict diagnosis. Patients with and without prostate cancer differed significantly in age and serum prostate-specific antigen levels （P 〈 0.001）, as well as in all transrectal ultrasound characteristics （P 〈 0.05） except uneven echo （P = 0.609）. The random forest model based on age, prostate-specific antigen and ultrasound predicted prostate cancer with an accuracy of 83.10%, sensitivity of 65.64%, and specificity of 93.83%. Positive predictive value was 86.72%, and negative predictive value was 81.64%. By integrating age, prostate-specific antigen levels and transrectal ultrasound findings, the random forest algorithm shows better diagnostic performance for prostate cancer than either diagnostic indicator on its own. This algorithm may help improve diagnosis of the disease by identifying patients at high risk for biopsy.

Development and experimental study of a miniature vapor compression refrigeration equipment

A miniature vapor compression refrigeration equipment prototype was developed for a range of microclimate control applications, including man portable cooling and distributed space conditioning. The miniature refrigeration equipment has dimensions of 260 mm × 250 mm × 120 mm, and weighs approximately 2.85 kg. The optimal motor and its transmission ratio, the optimal dimension of capillary tube and the optimal quantity of refrigerant charge were obtained by matching and operating performance experimental study. Experimental results show that the miniature refrigeration equipment can provide 300 W cooling, and its COPc is above 2.0.

Large-size mandible graft has huge needs in clinic caused by infection,tumor,congenital deformity,bone trauma and so ***,the reconstruction of large-size mandible defect is challenged due to its complex anatomical structure and large-range bone *** design and fabrication of porous implants with large segments and specific shapes matching the native mandible remain a considerable ***,the 6%Mg-doped calcium silicate(CSi-Mg6)andβ-andα-tricalcium phosphate(β-TCP,α-TCP)bioceramics were fabricated by digital light processing as the porous scaffolds of over 50%in porosity,while the titanium mesh was fabricated by selective laser *** mechanical tests showed that the initial flexible/compressive resistance of CSi-Mg6 scaffolds was markedly higher than that ofβ-TCP andα-TCP *** experiments showed that these materials all had good biocompatibility,while CSi-Mg6 significantly promoted cell *** the rabbit critically sized mandible bone defects(∼13 mm in length)filled with porous bioceramic scaffolds,the titanium meshes and titanium nails were acted as fixation and load *** results showed that the defects were kept during the observation period in the blank(control)group;in contrast,the osteogenic capability was significantly enhanced in the CSi-Mg6 andα-TCP groups in comparison with theβ-TCP group,and these two groups not only had significantly increased new bone formation but also had thicker trabecular and smaller trabecular ***,the CSi-Mg6 andα-TCP groups showed appreciable material biodegradation in the later stage(from 8 to 12 weeks)in comparison with theβ-TCP scaffolds while the CSi-Mg6 group showed much outstanding mechanical capacity in vivo in the early stage compared to theβ-TCP andα-TCP ***,these findings suggest that the combination of customized strength-strong bioactive CSi-Mg6 scaffolds together with titanium meshes is a promising way for repairing the large-size load-bearing

First-Principle Calculations for Thermodynamic Properties of LiBC Under High Temperature and High Pressure

The thermodynamic properties of LiBC are investigated by using the full-potential linearlzed muffin-tin orbital method （FP-LMTO） within the frame of density functional theory （DFT） and using the quasi-harmonic Debye model. The dependencies of the normalized lattice parameters a/a0 and c/c0, the ratio （c/a）/2, the normalized primitive volume V/V0 on pressure and temperature are successfully obtained. It is found that the interlayer covalent interactions （Li-B bonds or Li-C bonds） are more sensitive to temperature and pressure than intralayer ones （B-C bonds）, as gives rise to the extreme lattice anisotropy in the bulk hop LiBC.

A direct real-time polymerase chain reaction assay for rapid high-throughput detection of highly pathogenic North American porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus in China without RNA purification

Background： Porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus （PRRSV）, and particularly its highly pathogenic genotype （HP-PRRSV）, have caused massive economic losses to the global swine industry. Results： To rapidly identify HP-PRRSV, we developed a direct reaL-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction method （dRT-PCR） that could detect the virus from serum specimen without the need of RNA purification Our dRT-PCR assay can be completed in 1.5 h from when a sample is received to obtaining a result. Additionally, the sensitivity of dRT-PCR matched that of conventional reverse transcription PCR （cRT-PCR） that used purified RNA The lowest detection limit of HP-PRRSV was 6.3 TCIDs0 using dRT-PCR. We applied dRT-PCR assay to 144 field samples and the results showed strong consistency with those obtained by cRT-PCR. Moreover, the dRT-PCR method was able to tolerate 5-20% （v/v） serum. Conclusions： Our dRT-PCR assay allows for easier, faster, more cost-effective and higher throughput detection of HP-PRRSV compared with cRT-PCR methods. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report to describe a real-time RT-PCR assay capable of detecting PRRSV in crude serum samples without the requirement for purifying RNA. We believe our approach has a great potential for application to other RNA viruses.

The pore architecture of porous scaffolds is a critical factor in osteogenesis,but it is a challenge to precisely configure strut-based scaffolds because of the inevitable filament corner and pore geometry *** study provides a pore architecture tailoring strategy in which a series of Mg-doped wollastonite scaffolds with fully interconnected pore networks and curved pore architectures called triply periodic minimal surfaces(TPMS),which are similar to cancellous bone,are fabricated by a digital light processing *** sheet-TPMS pore geometries(s-Diamond,s-Gyroid)contribute to a 3‒4-fold higher initial compressive strength and 20%-40%faster Mg-ion-release rate compared to the other-TPMS scaffolds,including Diamond,Gyroid,and the Schoen’s I-graph-Wrapped Package(IWP)in ***,we found that Gyroid and Diamond pore scaffolds can significantly induce osteogenic differentiation of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells(BMSCs).Analyses of rabbit experiments in vivo show that the regeneration of bone tissue in the sheet-TPMS pore geometry is delayed;on the other hand,Diamond and Gyroid pore scaffolds show notable neo-bone tissue in the center pore regions during the early stages(3-5 weeks)and the bone tissue uniformly fills the whole porous network after 7 ***,the design methods in this study provide an important perspective for optimizing the pore architecture design of bioceramic scaffolds to accelerate the rate of osteogenesis and promote the clinical translation of bioceramic scaffolds in the repair of bone defects.

Agitation drying synthesis of porous carbon supported Li_(3)VO_4 as advanced anode material for lithium-ion batteries

Li_(3)VO_4 has been considered as a promising insertion-type anode for lithium-ion batteries due to its high theoretical specific capacity and suitable operating voltage platform. However, this promising anode still suffers from poor electrical conductivity. To address this issue, herein, a porous carbon supported Li_(3)VO_4 composites(Li_(3)VO_4/C) via a facile agitation-drying method combined with subsequent calcination is reported, in which Ketjen black carbon with high porosity, easy dispersion and excellent conductivity can serve as one of carbon sources. The Li_(3)VO_4/C composite prepared at 700 ℃ with a carbon content of~10% exhibits the optimized structure. The void space of the composite accommodates the volume changes during the charge/discharge ***, the carbon shell serves as a conductive skeleton to provide bi-continuous Li ions and electrons pathways. Electrochemical results reveal that the composite delivers a high initial discharge capacity of 572 m Ahág^(-1) and maintains a capacity of 442.9 m Ahág^(-1) after 100 cycles at 100 m Aág^(-1). Even at a high current density of 2 Aág^(-1), a considerable capacity of 243.8 m Ahág^(-1) can still be obtained. This work provides a promising approach for the practical application of Li_(3)VO_4 as anode material for LIBs.

Effect of high glucose levels on the calcification of vascular smooth muscle cells by inducing osteoblastic differentiation and intracellular calcium deposition via BMP-2/Cbfα-1 pathway

In this paper, we investigate the effect and the possible mechanism of high glucose levels on the calcification of human aortic smooth muscle cells （HASMCs）. HASMCs were divided into four groups： normal glucose group （NG）, osmolality control group （OC）, high glucose group （HG, HASMCs culture medium containing 30 mmol/L glucose）, and high glucose plus recombinant human Noggin protein （bone morphogenetic protein-2 （BMP-2） antagonist） group （HN）. The mRNA levels and the protein expressions of BMP-2 and core binding factor alpha-1 （Cbfa-1） were measured by real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction （PCR） and Western blot. After induced by 10 mmol/L β-glycerol phosphoric acid, cells were had＇vested for assessments of alkaline phosphatase （ALP） activities at Days 1,2, and 3, and intracellular calcium contents at Days 7 and 14, respectively. High glucose levels increased the mRNA levels and the protein expressions of BMP-2 and Cbfa-1 （P〈0.05）. The expression of Cbfa-1 was partially blocked by Noggin protein （P〈0.05）, while BMP-2 was not （P〉0.05）. After being induced by β-glycerol phosphoric acid, high glucose levels increased the ALP activity [（48.63±1.03） vs. （41.42±2.28） U/mg protein, Day 3; P〈0.05] and the intracellular calcium content [（2.76±0.09） vs. （1.75±0.07） μmol/mg protein, Day 14; P〈0.05] in a time-dependent manner when compared with the NG group, while the ALP activity could not be blocked by Noggin protein [（48.63±1.03） vs. （47.37±0.97） U/mg protein, Day 3; P〉0.05]. These results show that high glucose levels can evoke the calcification of HASMCs by inducing osteoblastic trans-differentiation and intracellular calcium deposition via the BMP-2/Cbfa-1 pathway, which can be partially blocked by Noggin protein.
