Transforming growth factor beta(TGFβ)is a pleiotropic cytokine with functions related to angiogenesis,tumor suppression,and immune tolerance[1].TGFβis involved in tumor immune escape and is a target for cancer immune therapy[1].We have reported that healthy donors and cancer patients harbor CD8^(+)cytotoxic T lymphocytes(CTLs)that are specific to TGFβ-derived epitopes and that these CD8^(+)CTLs kill malignant myeloid cells in a TGFβ-dependent manner[2].

Background: The increasing availability of remotely sensed data has recently challenged the traditional way of performing forest inventories, and induced an interest in model-based inference. Like traditional design-based inference, model-based inference allows for regional estimates of totals and means, but in addition for wall-to-wall mapping of forest characteristics. Recently Light Detection and Ranging(LiDAR)-based maps of forest attributes have been developed in many countries and been well received by users due to their accurate spatial representation of forest resources. However, the correspondence between such mapping and model-based inference is seldom appreciated. In this study we applied hierarchical model-based inference to produce aboveground biomass maps as well as maps of the corresponding prediction uncertainties with the same spatial resolution. Further, an estimator of mean biomass at regional level, and its uncertainty, was developed to demonstrate how mapping and regional level assessment can be combined within the framework of model-based ***: Through a new version of hierarchical model-based estimation, allowing models to be nonlinear, we accounted for uncertainties in both the individual tree-level biomass models and the models linking plot level biomass predictions with LiDAR metrics. In a 5005 km2 large study area in south-central Sweden the predicted aboveground biomass at the level of 18 m×18 m map units was found to range between 9 and 447 mg·ha^-1. The corresponding root mean square errors ranged between 10 and 162 mg·ha^-1. For the entire study region, the mean aboveground biomass was 55 mg·ha^-1 and the corresponding relative root mean square error 8%. Facial imaging is a term used to describe methods that use facial images to assist or facili-tate human identification. This pertains to two craniofacial identification procedures that use skulls and faces—facial approximation and photographic superimposition—as well as face-only methods for age progression/regression, the construction of facial graphics from eye-witness memory (including composites and artistic sketches), facial depiction, face mapping and newly emerging methods of molecular photofitting. Given the breadth of these facial imaging techniques, it is not surprising that a broad array of subject-matter experts partici-pate in and/or contribute to the formulation and implementation of these methods (includ-ing forensic odontologists, forensic artists, police officers, electrical engineers, anatomists, geneticists, medical image specialists, psychologists, computer graphic programmers and software developers). As they are concerned with the physical characteristics of humans, each of these facial imaging areas also falls in the domain of physical anthropology, although not all of them have been traditionally regarded as such. This too offers useful opportunities to adapt established methods in one domain to others more traditionally held to be disciplines within physical anthropology (e.g. facial approximation, craniofacial super-imposition and face photo-comparison). It is important to note that most facial imaging methods are not currently used for identification but serve to assist authorities in narrowing or directing investigations such that other, more potent, methods of identification can be used (e.g. DNA). Few, if any, facial imaging approaches can be considered honed end-stage scientific methods, with major opportunities for physical anthropologists to make meaningful contributions. Establishing mixed stands by stimulating natural in combination with planting could potentially ensure adequate stocking and meet shifting demands for forest products. Two long-term experiments were separately established in former Norway spruce (Picea abies L. Karst) stands in southern Sweden to be able to evaluate mixed forest establishment and management. The treatment plots were treated with different intensity of soil scarification (disc trenching, soil inversion and control) to test effects of soil disturbance on regeneration success. Five years later, both experiments were used for a first evaluation, where seedlings of all naturally regenerated tree species were counted together with estimates of the cover and height of other vegetation. This was made in sample plots in symmetric grids. Testing the effects of scarification and distance to seed source on natural regeneration of silver birch (Betula pendula Roth.) and downy birch (B. pubescens Ehrh.) showed that both scarification type and degree of soil disturbance significantly affected seedling counts but only if seed sources were close. In conclusion, conventional management practices for regenerating coniferous forest may be suitable for establishing mixed forest stands with combinations of planted and naturally regenerated seedlings.

本文采用半约束模型试验技术 ,对一条高速船在规则波中随浪和斜浪工况进行了流体动力系列试验 ,以探讨航运的安全性 ,验证作用于船体上波浪力的估算方法。对每次试验 ,以波动方程的形式采用数值估算方法确定环绕船模的波浪运动的时间历程。并用同样的方法从测量数据中提取垂荡和纵摇与模型测量运动 ,一阶波导纵荡、横荡作用力和首摇力矩。因此合理比较理论计算的波浪力与力矩的时间历程成为可能。这表明SSPA海事动力学的研究所(mDL)模型试验设施可以提供高质量的测量 ,与所述计算方法结合起来可用来验证理论计算和建立半经验方法。

Biallelic loss-of-function variants in ATm (Ataxia Telangiectasia mutated) cause Ataxia Telangiectasia (AT), a rare disorder associated with cerebellar degeneration and ataxia, cancer predisposition, infertility, growth retardation, etc. ATm is a phosphoinositide 3-kinase-related kinase (PIKK) with a role in DNA repair and maintenance of genome stability. Studying a multisystem genetic disease like AT requires animal models to ascertain its pathogenesis at the level of tissues, organs and the organism. Due to its small size, cheap maintenance, large progeny, rapid development and initial transparency, zebrafish (Danio rerio) is an increasingly popular vertebrate model organism, suitable for genetic modifications and large-scale in vivo therapeutic screens as embryos are chemically permeable to small compounds. Currently, no zebrafish model for AT exists.1 We generated atm knock-outs through CRIPSR-Cas9 mutagenesis. We show that atm conserved its function as a tumour suppressor gene and is involved in gametogenesis and fertility. Therefore, this mutant is of great value for further studies investigating the role of atm in reproduction and tumorigenesis.
