Pore-scale study of the effects of DTPA chelating agent flooding on oil recovery utilizing a clay-coated micromodel

The use of diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid(DTPA)chelating agent has shown promising results for enhanced oil recovery(EOR)in prior *** mechanisms,mainly resulting from rock-fluid interaction,have been proposed for chelating agent flooding;however,little attention has been paid to fluid-fluid interaction thus *** assessment of these mechanisms has primarily relied on macroscopic techniques such as core *** paper aims to investigate the injection of DTPA brine and its dominant mechanisms at the pore scale using a clay-coated *** micromodel tests were performed under oil-wet and water-wet *** a more precise examination of fluid/fluid interactions,the dynamic interfacial tension(IFT)and Zeta potential were *** was observed that the injection of DTPA brine in water-wet state changed the saturation distribution and increased oil *** on visual inspections,this change in saturation distribution could potentially be linked to the formation of micro-dispersions and viscoelastic interfacial ***-dispersions facilitate flow to unswept areas,and viscoelastic interface formation reshapes the interface between oil and brine,causing disconnected oil droplets to coalesce and thus increase *** the oil-wet state,the micro-dispersion formation and wettability alteration can be the dominant mechanisms,and the amount of recovered oil was higher than that observed in the water-wet ***,Zeta potential measurements at the interface between brine and oil showed a more negative value for DTPA brine,which is effective in wettability alteration and micro-dispersions *** results indicate that IFT reduction was not significant enough to be considered the dominant mechanism,although it assists in DTPA brine penetration into the crude oil and subsequent micro-dispersion formation.

Hemoglobin is responsible for transporting oxygen from the lungs to body ***,this protein is a tetramer composed of two a-globin chains and twoβ-globin *** sheep,the β-globin locus is of particular interest because it contains two different haplotypes,namely haplotype A(hap A)and hap B,which differ in length by more than 30 kb and do not undergo recombination with each other due to low sequence similarity(Bauer and Jung,1975;Jiang et al.,2015).The two haplotypes also differ in gene content with hap A possessing two clusters of hemoglobin gene families and hap B possessing only one(Aguiletam et al.,2004),which implies differentiation in their functional *** A was speculated to be associated with high-altitude adaptation in sheep(Hu et al.,2019).

HEAT STABLE AND ORGANOSOLUBLE BENZOXAZOLE OR BENZOTHIAZOLE-CONTAINING POLY(IMIDE-ESTER)S AND POLY(ETHERIMIDE-ESTER)S: SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION

Two series of poly（imide-ester）s （PIEs） and poly（ether-imide-ester）s （PEIEs）, having benzoxazole or benzothiazole pendent groups, were conveniently prepared by the diphenylchlorophosphate-activated direct polyesterification of two bis（imide-carboxylic acid）s （1）, such as 2-[3,5-bis（N-trimellitimidoyl）phenyl]benzoxazole （lo） and 2-[3,5-bis（N- trimellitimidoyl）phenyl]benzothiazole （Is） and two bis（imide-ether-carboxylic acid）s （2）, such as 2-[3,5-bis（4- trimellitimidophenoxy）-phenyl]benzoxazole （2o）, and 2-[3,5-bis（4-trimellitimidophenoxy）-phenyl]benzothiazole （2s） with various aromatic dihydroxy compounds in the presence of pyridine and lithium chloride. The structures, solubilities and thermal properties of obtained polymers were investigated in detail. All of the resulting polymers were characterized by FTIR and IH-NMR spectroscopy and elemental analysis. All of the resulting polymers exhibited excellent solubility in common organic solvents, such as pyridine, tetrahydrofuran and m-cresol, as well as in polar organic solvents, such as N-methyl-2- pyrrolidone, N,N-dimethylacetamide, N,N-dimethylformamide and dimethyl sulfoxide. The modified polymers were obtained in quantitative yields with inherent viscosities between 0.47 and 0.67 dl·g^-1 Experimental results indicated that all the polymers had glass transition temperature between 198 ℃ and 262 ℃, the decomposition temperature at 10% weight loss between 398 ℃ and 531 ℃ under nitrogen.

Preparation and Characterization of Poly(amide-imide)/ZnO Nanocomposites Containing Pendent Benzoxazole and Benzimidazole Segments

In the present investigation, novel poly（amid-imide）/zinc oxide nanocomposites（PAI/Zn O NCs） containing benzoxazole and benzimidazole pendent groups with different amounts of modified zinc oxide nanoparticles（Zn O NPs） were successfully prepared via the ex situ method. Poly（amid-imide）（PAI） was prepared by direct polycondensation of 2-[3,5-bis（N-trimellitimidoyl）phenyl]benzoxazole（DCA） with 5-（2-benzimidazole）-1,3-phenylenediamine（DAMI） and provided the polymeric matrix with well-designed groups. The surface of Zn O NPs was functionalized with 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane（APS） coupling agent to have a better dispersion and enhancing possible interactions of NPs with functional groups of polymer matrix. The amount of APS bonded to the Zn O surface was determined by thermogravimetric analysis. PAI/Zn O nanocomposites were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy（FTIR）, X-ray diffraction（XRD）, and scanning electron microscopy（SEM）. SEM analysis showed that the modified Zn O nanoparticles were homogeneously dispersed in polymer matrix. In addition, TGA data indicated an enhancement of thermal stability of the nanocomposite compared with the neat polymer.

Protein adsorption, cell viability and corrosion properties of Ti6Al4V alloy treated by plasma oxidation and anodic oxidation

The hardness,wettability,and electrochemical properties of Ti6Al4V alloy surfaces treated with anodic oxidation and plasma oxidation as well as the viabilities of the different cell lines on the obtained surfaces were *** anodic oxidation was performed for 10 min under 100 V potential,and it resulted in a 0.95μm thick nanoporous anatase-TiO2 *** the other hand,plasma oxidation was carried out at 650℃ for 1 h and resulted in a dense rutile-TiO2 structure with a thickness of 1.2μ*** a hardness of HV0.025823 and roughness of^220 nm were obtained by plasma oxidation,those obtained by anodic oxidation were HV0.025512 and^130 nm,*** anodic oxidation process created a more hydrophilic surface with a contact angle of 87.2°.Both oxidation processes produced similar properties in terms of corrosion behavior and showed better resistance than the as-received state in a certain range of ***,the surface treatments led to no significant change in the protein adsorption levels,which indicates that the difference in viability between the osteoblast and fibroblast cells was not due to the difference in surface protein *** all the factors,the surfaces obtained by anodic oxidation treatment revealed higher cell viability than those obtained by plasma oxidation(p=0.05).

How crystal configuration affects the position detection accuracy in pixelated molecular SPECT imaging systems?

It is well known that inter-crystal scattering and penetration(ICS-P) are major spatial resolution limiting parameters in dedicated SPECT scanners with pixelated *** this study,the effect of ICS-P on crystal identification in different crystal configurations was evaluated using GATE Monte Carlo simulation.A ^(99m)Tc pencil-beam toward central crystal element was *** incident angle was assumed to vary from 0° to 45° in 5° *** effects of various crystal configurations such as pixel-size,pixel-gap,and crystal material were *** influence of photon energy on the crystal identification(CI) was also *** detection accuracy(PDA) was defined as a factor indicating performance of the ***,a set of ^(99m)Tc point-source simulations was performed in order to calculate peak-to-valley(PVR) ratio for each *** results show that the CsI(Na)manifests higher PDA than NaI(TI) and YAP(Ce).In addition,as the incident angle increases,the crystal becomes less accurate in positioning of the *** a crystal-dependent critical angle,the PDA monotonically *** PDA reaches 0.44 for the CsI(Na) at 45° beam *** PDAs obtained by the point-source evaluation also behave the same as for the pencil-beam *** addition,the PVRs derived from flood images linearly correlate their corresponding *** conclusion,quantitative assessment of ICS-P is mandatory for scanner design and modeling the system matrix during iterative reconstruction algorithms for the purpose of resolution modeling in ultra-high-resolution SPECT.

Techno-economic-environmental feasibility study of a photovoltaic system in northern part of Iran including a two-stage multi-string inverter with DC-DC ZETA converter and a modified P&O algorithm

Inverters play a significant role in the configuration of grid-connected photovoltaic(PV)*** perturb-and-observe(P&O)algorithm is a common method to derive the maximum power from grid-connected inverters;however,the possibility of losing maximum power due to sudden changes in radiation is a significant drawback of this control *** overcome this barrier,the two-stage multi-string inverter using the ZETA DC-DC converter and a novel P&O algorithm has been proposed to increase the efficiency of these *** proposed inverter has been simulated in MATLAB/SIMULINK *** investigate the performance of the proposed inverter,technical,environmental and economic feasibility studies have been performed for the construction of a 5-kW PV power plant in a northern city of Iran(Sari)using the RETScreen software developed by Natural Resources *** the other hand,most feasibility studies for power-plant construction are based on the concept of inverter peak efficiency,which leads to non-optimal system design due to the short operation duration of the inverter at this ***,the weighted European efficiency has been used in the feasibility study for more accurate ***,the performance of the proposed inverter is compared to that of a two-stage multi-string inverter using a conventional P&O algorithm and the single-stage(central)*** simulation results indicated that the proposed inverter injects 7.6 MW of power into the grid per ***,it prevents the emission of 88 tons of CO_(2)(over 20 years),which is equivalent to saving 1883.5 litres of gasoline per year.

Photovoltaic(PV)systems can be used to generate electricity due to the potential for solar energy in *** floating photovol-taic(FPV)systems is a new approach to utilizing PV systems in *** of Iran’s energy consumption is supplied from fossil fuels,especially oil and *** recent years,Iran has faced environmental problems and air *** generation using fossil fuels has led to increased environmental ***,PV systems can be used to generate electricity due to the potential for solar energy in *** interest in predicting the energy production of PV power plants has increased in recent *** this regard,the techno-economic-environmental study of constructing PV power plants is a basic process to encourage people to use solar energy.A techno-economic-environmental feasibility study has been performed to construct a 5-kW FPV and ground PV(GPV)power plant in a northern city of ***,the FPV system is compared with the ground PV system using MATLAB^(■)Simulink and RETScreen^(■)*** this study,the effects of wind and water temperature have been ***,a sensitivity analysis was performed due to the uncertainty in climatic conditions and the amount of PV energy *** simulation results show that due to the cooling effect for panels in the FPV system,the production capacity and panels’efficiency are respectively 19.47%and 27.98%higher than the those of the GPV *** addition,the FPV system was found to have a 16.96%increase in the annual performance ***,using the FPV system reduces the equity payback to 6.3 years(a 22.2%reduction compared to the GPV power plant).
